1990-05 Hard Dog Sport "Fat Boy" roll bar

Note: this bar is also known as the (deep breath) Hard Dog M2 Hard Core Hard Top. We gave it a different name to clarify what's going on, as it's closer to a Sport than a Hard Core.

Looking for a bar that will allow the use of hardtop side latches, but with the stronger 1.75" diameter tubing used in the Hard Core as well as harness mounting points and double diagonals? Here you go. This is an excellent and popular street option. We have it on a number of our own cars.

This bar combines the geometry of the Sport with the thick Hard Core tubing. This means it is SCCA Solo I legal, but it can be difficult to get low enough to pass a helmet clearance test.

In order to work with glass windows, this bar uses harness tabs instead of a harness bar. However, some SCCA regs do not allow harnesses to share mounting points. For that situation, we have the bolt-in harness bar. 

Available with no diagonals (best rearward vision), single diagonal (worst rearward vision), and double diagonal (in-between rearward vision, our most popular version).

Fits all NA and NB Miatas. Compatible with stock glass windows and aftermarket windows that are close to the stock window size, if your window is much larger it might not fit. Stock glass windows (and the inflexible border) measure about 32-1/4" at the widest point near the top (where your window needs to slip between the rear supports of the roll bar when the top is down).
