Designed by IL Motorsports in Germany, this bushing set is just like the factory set but with rubber that's about 30-40% stiffer. Mazda Competition makes a set like this but it's very expensive. The magic of the IL Motorsports parts is that they're actually affordable.

Why rubber? Some people prefer it because it's easier to deal with over the long term. There's no need to ever regrease them and there's no chance they'll squeak. It's what Mazda used in the first place. A great choice for a street car - actually, we prefer them for any car that sees street use. They also look stock so you can pass tech inspection in a stock class. Not that you'd do that.

The suspension will keep the same feel as stock, right down to the variable durometers used in different locations and the addition of a "bushing spring" to your spring rate. The stiffer rubber will decrease the amount of deflection in your suspension, giving more precision than stock parts. They are a bit more difficult to install than poly, as they will have to be pressed in.

Obvious Improvement in Responsiveness
The high quality is evident as soon as you open the package. These come in four separate, well-labeled boxes. There’s no chance of not knowing which one is installed where. The removed 17 year old bushings were still in pretty good shape. But I could still feel a difference on the initial drive after install. Every day driving is fine. No annoying NVH, yet an obvious improvement in responsiveness

Drives like a new car.
I wanted firmer bushings but without the maintenance of poly. These are the perfect match to my V-MAXX coilovers, the car is really firm but doesn't vibrate, squeak, or clunk over bumps. Fantastic upgrade.

Firm and Agressive.
Handling was dramatically increase and considering nearly all my suspension components being upgraded. Should have purchased this set a long time ago! What a noticable difference and installation was not too bad. Highly recommended!

If you're doing bushings, buy these
My old bushings weren't entirely shot, so it's not like these were night-and-day compared to stock, but they are high quality parts that have worn well in the last few years, feel tight, and they are so much cheaper than Mazdaspeed comp bushings. If you need to do suspension bushings, buy these; they are the best bang for the buck.

Soft enough for street, firm enough for track. Real-world perfect!
My second NA, a naturally aspirated track-focused 1990, was in dire need of new bushings. As it was still required for street driving including winter, I decided against poly bushings. So happy that I did, as these were THE answer. Firm yet forgiving, silent not squeaky, and no re-greasing required.

Firm, accurate handling, plus some sound reduction
For ten years I used poly-bushings, which I replaced with the IL bushings last week. The IL bushings are stiffer, provide more accurate handling than stock. Poly-bushings are very difficult to keep completely lubricated, even when you have Zerk fittings installed. The IL bushings provide the precision you are looking for in your suspension without the maintenance. The also absorb a certain amount of sound that the poly bushings transmit. If the FM springs are not too hard for you, these will not be either.

Seemed pricey at first for some rubber bits, one test drive answered that question.
Went with these on the advice of Brandon when I ordered some other bits. I wasn't really wanting to spring for the extra over the polyurethane bushings but since mine is a daily driver and not a track car Brandon recommended them. Am I glad I took his advice. Handling seems much more responsive with a big step up in feedback but without all the NVH you get with straight poly bushings. There also a great excuse to buy that press you've been wanting for the shop.
