Timing belt kit (NB 1999-00 and MSM)

Timing belt kit (NB 1999-00 and MSM)
Timing belt kit (NB 1999-00 and MSM)
Everything you need for a timing belt change!

Availability: In stock

Our timing belt kit is a little more expensive because it includes the tensioner and idler pulleys. We find that almost every Miata needs new ones when doing a timing belt. It also includes the timing belt (made by Continental), cam seals, front crank seal, a valve cover gasket and thermostat neck O-ring. Accessory belts sold separately. Don't get caught on a Saturday afternoon without parts you need!

This kit does not include a new tensioner spring, as it doesn’t need to be replaced. The tensioner spring doesn’t move back and forth during normal operation, it just pulls the tensioner pulley into the correct position during installation – it could actually be removed once the tensioner bolt has been tightened. Therefore, the spring isn’t fatigued and doesn’t need to be replaced.

This kit is for the 1999-00 NB 1.8 engines as well as the 2004-05 MSM.

We also have a full tool kit to help make this easier for you.

Time belt kit was great
This kit includes all the components you need, and was paired nice with the tool kit to relieve stress and ensure proper installation. I installed this and other maintenance parts on an older miata and drove 3000 miles (half with a trailer) without an issue.

A must-have for timing belt changes
The perfect kit for anyone needing to do a timing belt change. The valve cover gasket is especially good, it fits the valve cover like a glove for perfect tight fitment.

My car already had a Contitech timing belt installed and it had approximately 65,000 miles on it (the recommended service interval is 60,000 miles). This kit comes with the same belt, and my old belt looked identical to the brand new belt when I removed it. I have no doubt the belt in this kit could go for thousands of miles longer without issue.

I ordered this kit along with the Flyin' Miata tool kit and installation was a breeze.
