NA8 Flyin' Miata catalytic converter
NA8 Flyin' Miata catalytic converter
Free flowing cat for more power.

Made in the USA

Availability: In stock

Free flowing for better performance yet $300 less than stock! This converter is somewhat louder than an OEM converter and it`s perfect for Miatas with turbochargers! The same stainless steel flanges used on our exhausts are also used on the cats. 5 yr/50,000 mile limited warranty on the body and flanges, 25,000 mile warranty on the converter internals. Comes with gaskets and bolts.

Help us recycle - get $20 back if you ship us your old original equipment catalytic converter. It must still have the ceramic core in it, doesn't have to work. OE cats only.
Works with all exhausts. NOT CARB-legal, although it is a three-way OEM-style cat for minimum emissions. The cat is a 300-cell ceramic unit.  Please note that we cannot ship this product to California as it will not meet emissions regulations.

UK cars with a 1996 P registration or later may require the use of a Flyin' Miata or other aftermarket exhaust to use this catalytic converter. The factory cat on these cars is longer (475mm instead of 440mm) and the exhaust system is not compatible with our cat.

Overpriced, get the magnaflow bolt in.
The entry and exit pipe is only slightly larger than the bolt in magnaflow which is $100 less. The internals appear to be exactly the same and allow the same amount of light to pass through, and thus the same amount of gases... the magnaflow isn't even considered a highflow btw.

Note: Any smaller cat will significantly increase your exhaust volume.

Excellent CAT
Failed emissions in my boosted 96 Miata. Purchased this CAT which was easy to install and flows good. I then passed emissions in flying colors!

Bought Two Years Ago, No Complaints!
Bought it to replace the stock one and to save some money, and I ended up getting a deeper, more throaty sound (which I love!) and it bolted right up with absolutely no issue. Usual trouble-free experience with FM, and would recommend this product to anyone who needs a cat (or cheap exhaust upgrade!)

Overpriced Garbage Product. Worthless Warranty. Terrible Customer Service.
This is branded/endorsed as a FM product but is actually manufactured by "Thermal Design R&D" who also handles all warranty claims. Mine arrived with shoddy welding with very sharp stalactites around the seams. Product installed fine but failed within two years and less than 9,000 miles of usage, well below half the advertised warranty period. The product itself is shabby but the warranty claim process was the real nightmare. Not only did I have to pay for shipping and return shipping, my warranty claim was declined EVEN THOUGH the manufacturer determined the cat needed to be repaired and I would have to PAY to have it fixed because of "unspecified reasons." What this means is the "limited warranty" is worthless because it allows FM to deceive you into thinking you'll be covered when in legalese it means they can deny it for ANY reason. FM customer service was even worse because they were not upfront about the warranty details both on their product page or during the warranty claim process and were not interested in making me whole in the slightest. Absolute garbage product and terrible customer service. When all is said and done I could have bought THREE MagnaFlow cats for the price of ONE FM cat. AVOID this overpriced product because thankfully there is a HUGE aftermarket for miata parts. If FM reserves the right to deny your warranty claim then you reserve the right to deny them your money.

Note from FM: Obviously this is not what we consider a normal state of affairs and we never intend to deceive. We're going to look into what happened here.
