With a high power engine, your stock motor mounts have a hard time keeping the engine from moving around under power. Also, factory mounts can crack with as little as 60,000 miles on them. We recommend changing these every time you have the engine out, unless you make a real habit of it.

These stiffer Mazda Competition mounts are made of 40% stiffer rubber to help keep the engine under control. Shifting will be easier as the transmission will move less - you`ll be less likely to make the classic 2-5 shift. There is an increase in noise, vibration and harshness - this doens't bother some people, but if you drive with the top up most of the time you might want to consider our stock replacement parts instead.

These are Mazda Competition parts which are usually only available to racers. They are not the same mounts that are used on the Mazdaspeed MX-5 turbo car.

Two needed per car, sold individually. Fits all NA and NB Miatas, including the Mazdaspeed.

Must Have Maintenance Item
Night and day difference. When I first got my Miata the car was very hard to shift. Essentially at first I needed to wait for the motor settling down. And I could feel it from off throttle cuz the car would jerk a little bit. It was hard to put smooth power down. I thought it was my problem and learnt better throttle control. Today I had the mounts changed. Turnt out both of the old mounts were completely torn. Felt the difference right from turning the key. There is a ton less off throttle vibration. The shifter doesn’t shake all over the place any more. Incrediblely easy to get in gear. Power was put down a lot smoother. In my special case, NVH is decreased (guess the old one was so torn). Will definitely recommend. My car is a CA spec 99 Miata. The precat did make removal a little more challenging but still doable. Just needed to dissemble the mount from lower bracket while in the car. Also taking off splash guard would help big time.

These things should be at the top of your priority list for anything from maintenance up keep, to increasing performance. For just over $100 and about 2hrs of work taking your time. It will change the feeling of your car so nicely.

Easy to do while doing clutch
I replaced my 125,xxx mile mounts on my 2000 while doing my clutch which was easy to do while in there. Because mine were torn so badly these reduced overall shake and improved shifting.

Would buy again, but probably won't need to!
As soon as I started the car, I could tell the difference -- the car isn't shaking! The old mounts were truly shot. These vibrate a little once the idle slows down after warmup, but not at all while driving. Clutch engagement is smoother, throttle response sharper, shift lever doesn't wobble as much. I did these and suspension bushings at the same time, feels like a new car.

Awesome Mounts worth the money
They shipped fast. and Easy to Install(Engine was out the car but the drop in was smooth) . I can feel a vibrate but no noise issues, Shifting is way better no more missing gears.

These are really great. Tightened up my 93 beautifully. I didn't notice any increase in vibration in the car. Like others have said they can be a bit of a pain to install but it is definitely worth it. Probably the best 100$ you can spend on your miata.

Stiffens the front sub-frame, and ties together the whole front end.
With competition engine mounts installed the whole car quivers a little at idle. The beams of your head lights will dance on the rear of the car ahead of you at stop lights. This said, the increased stiffness of the mounts has two advantages. The first advantage is that the stiffness of the horns of the front subframe, where the upper control arms are attached, are meaningfully stiffened by the increase in rigidity of the lateral load path carried through the stiffer motor mounts and the engine block. With the stiffer engine mounts this load path ties those two points together and makes the front end control arm supports more rigid. The whole front end of the car become tighter. The second advantage is that you will be able to find 3rd gear exactly where you left it the last time you used it. The engine and transmission no longer move as much under load. The change in vibration is not to every ones taste. If you don't mind or notice such things having the engine be tied tightly into the structure of the front end snugs up everything up there in a way that increases the stability of the car in sweeping turns, and the sharpness of the turn-in in tight, alternating turns

They were a b***** to install, but that isn't the fault of the mounts. Once installed, they tightened the whole car up. Shifts were improved, no more random vibrations here one minute and gone the next, hell it even changed the tone of the engine. The exhaust note was crisper and the intake sounded like I had installed a turbo. These mounts took ten years off my car.

Replacing motor mounts is a job I never want to do again. That's why I bought these, and its why you should too.

The most underrated and overlooked modification
After having these installed for over two months I have noticed a very noticeable difference in the overall performance of my car. Shifts are crisp and direct, the engine doesn't torque and twist anymore, there is a significant decrease in idle vibrations, and clutch engagement is smoother. Overall one of the best upgrades to go with for an affordable price.

Great improvement for a warn out motor mount
Very simple install, everything fit perfectly. No noticeable increase in noise or harshness, but shifts have become better than new. Never missing 3rd or 5th again!
