Master cylinder brace (stainless)
Give your braking a nice firm foundation. Now made from stainless steel.

Now made of stainless steel!

Under hard braking, the firewall will actually deform, allowing the brake pedal, booster and master cylinder to move. This flex takes away some of your brake pedal stiffness and makes it more difficult to balance the car on the edge of lockup because there's essentially a big spring in the system. You'll find your braking will be more precise and will require less pedal travel.

This simple brace bolts into your Miata and keeps the master cylinder right where it's supposed to be. It's adjustable for a perfect fit. Exclusive to Flyin' Miata!

For left hand drive cars only! Fits 1990-05 Miatas except for cars with the big double-size brake booster (2001-02 without ABS, 2001-05 Sport non-Mazdaspeed with ABS). If your booster is 3" thick measured from the firewall, it will fit. 4" boosters will not. There may be interference with the factory NA airbox that will require modification.

Not compatible with factory shock tower braces, although it is compatible with all Flyin' Miata braces, past and present. Does not fit with our Randall Cowl Intake on the 1990-97 cars, but it does fit on the 1999-05. Also, you must have at least 1/4" of exposed threads above the nuts on your shock bolts.

1990-93 cars with the original front upper mounts cannot fit both this brace and our shock tower brace due to the length of the studs on the upper shock mounts. Also, 1990-91 cars without the rear mounting hole will require a hole to be drilled and some reshaping of the fender with a hammer.

Stiffer brake pedal
After installing braided brake lines on my 99 and bleeding the brakes the pedal still felt mushy

The installation of this brace was straight forward and just had to trim the tab on the washer bottle. Put a dab of RTV on the pad that hits the back of the master cyl and then enjoy the stiffer firewall and firm pedal

Buy it now! Best mod ever
Easily among the best mods I've ever bought for any car, ever, and I recommend this to every single Miata person I find; these do SO MUCH to improve pedal feel and modulation, and it's such an affordable, yet high quality, part that installs in minutes.

One of my favorite cheap mods
Already having stainless lines and some decent pads on my car, I was at first a little skeptical about this bracing. Street driving for my 97 the difference isn't too noticeable -- however that changes drastically when you find your favorite stretch of road. I instantly noticed a quicker bite to the brakes at the limit, it's flipping awesome. I'm not going to lie, this is probably a top 5 favorite and easy mod.

Make sure that your car has the threaded lower mount point before buying!
I'm sure this is a great product if it fits your car, however, for whatever reason my car does not have the lower mounting hole for this part. I was very disappointed. I will have to either drill and tap a hole or figure out another option.

Must have brake ADDITION
5 minutes to install, quality built product, and impressive difference. You will notice a much firmer brake pedal now matter your current setup

Great piece, I love it.
Awesome piece. I noticed the difference in pedal firmness before I got out of the driveway. I purchased new pads, rotors, and stainless steel lines and had them installed with a fluid flush by a reputable shop, and was disappointed at the lack of change in pedal feel. After some research I decided to give this piece a try.

The difference is incredible. My confidence has increased and and modulability is as good as I could hope for.

Great Fast Mod
This is a relatively cheap modification and it does a whole lot to your feel. I had to remove the washer fluid bottle to fit it in my NB, but I believe that it was well worth it.

Good product. Be careful with allen bolt
Works as advertised. I would recommend changing the allen head screw for a shouldered hex head. The brake lines kept my allen wrench offline and it partially stripped the socket. Will need to grind head off to remove when I install a shock tower brace.

Better pedals all around
Made a world of difference in the feel of the brake pedal and in the braking. Also, shifts are crisper and smoother with less flex in the firewall. Noticed that before the brakes.

Worth the $$$
Effective! Improved pedal feel, just make sure you bleed out all of the air in your brake lines.

Excellent quality
Pedal feel is improved and feels more solid. It matches the FM front shock tower brace and it's very easy to install.

Great product, great results!
I'm a believer! To tell the truth I was a little doubtful after I ordered this part but after I installed it my hard braking improved immensely. I have so much more control over hard braking modulation, not only a performance upgrade but a great safety upgrade also. Highly recommend this item!

Must have item for your brakes
I installed this on my '99 NB after researching about brakes and that the firewall will flex under even moderate brake pressure, causing inconsistent pedal feel. I recently did brakes on all 4 corners and flushed the brake fluid but I felt something was missing.

Sometimes the pedal would feel ok then lose pressure and affect pedal feel for inconsistency when daily driving, as I mentioned above the firewall flexing seemed to be true. I installed this piece and pedal feel drastically improve. Feel is consistent and brakes grab consistently at whichever pressure you apply to the pedal. This won't improve your braking but it will improve brake pedal "feel," that gives consistency when daily driving and even moreso when aggressively driving.

Works amazingly well
Bought this brace last year after seeing how much the firewall can flex while applying the brakes. Install was very easy and it worked just the way I wanted it to. Pedal feel became very solid. The actual stopper is bigger than the brake cylinder which is good because it spreads the pressure evenly rather than on a single point. Great product !
