Flyin' Miata crankshaft bolt tool

FM crank bolt tool
Flyin' Miata crankshaft bolt tool

Tool for holding the crank in place. You need one.

Made in the USA

Exclusive to Flyin' Miata

Availability: In stock

Looking for a way to hold the crank in place as you torque down the big crank bolt? Or maybe to hold the crank in place as you take the old one off? Here's your solution. It's a direct copy of the home-made one we've been using at the FM shop since the early 90s.

One end fits the short nose 1990-91 crank, the other fits the 1991-05 big nose. Simply attach with the bolts from your accessory pulley and lean on that center bolt all you want. Laser cut and cadmium plated for forever life without the sharp edges of stainless steel.

Perfect for a club toolbox or at home. Will drastically reduce profanity usage during a timing belt change. Now compatible with our ATi damper!

A must-have for many engine jobs out of the car
If your engine is out of the car and you need to torque the big boss crank bolt, or torque down your flywheel bolts, you NEED this tool. It's a simple, elegant design that just works. Great tool design by FM.

Worth it!
Sped up engine work tremendously. Highly recommend after doing several rebuilds without one.

Yes, this thing works, and will not break if used correctly.
I had to order this tool as a last resort. Crank bolt was siezed on there. my home-made 3 foot bar wasn't able to get it loose. this worked. Bolt was so tight the car was about to lift off the jackstands when i had a 3 foot pipe as a cheater bar. This tool is not bent or damaged. would post pictures if i could.

Gives this high-torque operation a solid feeling of confidence.
This tool is great when loosening or tightening the big crank bolt. I let it rest on the alternator crank protected by the belt. I also used it to pull the pieces between the balancer and the gear which had bound up.

Great tool makes life easy
This makes taking that 21mm bolt out out of the crank pulley easy. The extra holes they cut in the handle are nice to hook on things for a one hand operation.
