Description
You only contact your car in a few places - the steering wheel, the seat, the pedals and the shifter. Changing any of these can have a surprising effect on how your car feels.
The knob is made of Delrin so it won't become scorching hot in the sun or transmit transmission heat to your palm, unlike aluminum knobs. It's slightly taller than stock to give you a little more leverage and to make the gates more distinct. We've also updated the design with a metal insert to add more mass to the knob so you have improved shift feel.

I bought the Flyin Miata Delrin shift knob because I wanted to try a larger diameter shift knob. It is a nicely made shift knob, and is finished to an amazingly smooth surface. It feels soft to the touch, yet the shape makes it easy to maintain a secure grip. The weight of the knob is sufficient to provide a solid movement of the shifter. The Delrin material gets warm when the top is down and the knob is in the sun for an extended period of time, but it never gets too hot to burn.
The only drawback of this knob is that it's taller than the stock knob, so the shifter throw feels longer than it did with the stock knob.
I found the oem knob coming loose on my newr-new ND after several track days. Tightening the oem knob down left it at weird angle. Flyin Miata's delrin knob has a nice feel and looks good. It's nice and simple, nothing to line up and no extra bits to worry about.
This is the best shift knob your money can buy, and it's the best in every measurable category.. I shifted to this one from a heavy Moddiction Anvil ball shift knob. I'd used it for many years across multiple cars and really enjoyed it. This Delrin knob is almost the opposite of that style. Initially I didn't immediately see why it was so loved. But within a couple of days the direct feeling, perfect shape, and simple design started to make sense.
I've since purchased another one for my partner's Mazda 2 and it works great in that car as well.
