Flyin' Miata springs are well-known as the best springs available, no matter what Miata you have. Our springs for the ND are no different!

As always, we started from scratch. We set up our cars with custom coilovers and started testing ride heights and spring rates. Then we started winding prototype springs so we could test the real thing. Testing takes place on the track and on real roads. It's a long process with the constant testing and feedback, but it pays off. It's why FM springs are the standard.

Soft top springs:
Front 300 lb/in, 13" ride height
Rear 175 lb/in, 13.5" ride height

RF springs:
Front 300 lb/in, 13" ride height
Rear 205 lb/in, 13.5" ride height

The end result is a good balance between spring rate and ride height, giving you enough room for everyday clearance and still being able to absorb bumps before hitting the bumpstops. We've known for years that running a soft spring rate with a lowered ride height is a recipe for disaster as the car slams into the bumpstops, so we always run enough spring rate to prevent that. It might seem counterintuitive that a stiff spring will be more comfortable than a soft one, but it's true.

We recommend using a set of our MCU bumpstops in the rear with these springs for best results. Front bumpstops should be left stock.

We have tested them with the stock 2016-17 soft top Club Bilsteins and found it acceptable for both performance and ride - surprisingly good for ride. Those shocks are overdamped to begin with, so we're simply giving them the springs they desire! 2018+ soft tops and all RFs came with a different Bilstein that is NOT a good match to our springs. They work even better with the Koni Sport, which is why we package them together in our Stage 1 and Stage 2 packages.

Not recommended for the stock Sport, GT or Classica black shocks or 2018+ soft top/2017+ RF Bilsteins. Put another way, if you don't have a 2016-17 soft top with Bilsteins, you'll need new shocks in order to handle these springs. Made in the US to our exclusive specifications.

Rides Even Better

The suspension drop is mild as expected with these springs, about an inch total. But the biggest difference is with the ride. It handles even better than stock of course, and regular road driving is improved. Overall very happy with the purchase. I would recommend going from the stock 205/45/17 tires to 225/45/17 tires to fill the wheel gap completely.

Made me realize how messed up towing made my rear springs LOL

These springs are absolutely amazing -- they completely transform the feel of the car. I went with the RF springs in my 16 club soft top because I personally wanted spring rates that more closely matched to some of the other kits on the market (200 in the rear with 300 up front) and I could not be happier. There is no sizing issue, they are also plug n play for the soft top. There is substantially less slop from the transmission due to the LSD being able to stay tight, this has allowed me to much more easily and accurately match revs on down shifts -- an outcome I did not foresee. The handling in corners becomes exceptionally well sorted, I do not have upgraded sway bars but with this upgrade I legitimately no longer feel that it is necessary in a car that mostly exclusively drives on the street. (Granted I do get schwiggity in the corners and on back roads!) The ride feels more firm, but the springs allow the dampeners to do exactly what they are prescribed to do. small undulations become rote fair for the tires and larger bumps pose no issue. The increased adhesion to the road allows for an overall smoother ride and I would equate the feeling of driving with these springs compared to the stock ones as going from a Miata to an M3's suspension, it is very sporty, yet still comfortable enough that it will at no point feel like a downgrade to the stock springs. Do not hesitate to purchase these if you're in the market!!!

Highly Recommend - Smooth Ride, Great Handling

Installed these on my BBS Pack Club with the Bilstein shocks and have been loving every drive. The 1" drop with larger 225 tires make the car look tight, but still is tall enough for daily driving and clearing curbs. Overall very satisfied.

Great for V1 Bilsteins

I love these spring however, I had some trouble installing the rear springs. The springs were slightly too small at the spring perch so it was very difficult to get them seated and it ended up gouging the spring perch. This might only be an issue for the Factory Bilsteins. Other than that, It looks great lowered and the ride quality is noticeable better than the stock springs with the upgraded Factory Bilsteins. Handing is fantastic as well with significantly reduced body roll. Overall fantastic product.

As advertised

After careful and thorough review of springs for my ND1 Club, I went with FM as it checked all the boxes I was seeking from performance springs. That said, the FM springs(and R-bump-stops) actually exceeded my expectations. I genuinely can not imagine being happier - and for that, I thank you!
