Improved! The rear shocks now have offset bushings for extra clearance between the spring and the halfshafts. This gives you a wider range of height adjustment. We also use a single long spring in the front for reaching higher ride heights without coil bind.

To answer one of the most common questions - yes, this price is for a full set of four.

An exclusive to Flyin' Miata! Tested at the Targa Newfoundland - twice.

You'd be amazed at how many suspension systems we test at Flyin' Miata. Even with a full line of parts, we're always looking for good options to pass along to our customers. When we first tried the V-Maxx suspension from the Netherlands, we didn't expect it to be any good due to the low price. To our surprise, it was better than most - but it wasn't quite right. So we changed the spring rates and bumpstop design until we had an end result that met our expectations, and worked with the manufacturer to bring our version to market.

So what makes them work?

The fixed shock damping is well-matched to the springs. A 1/2" shorter rear shock body gives extra compression travel for improved ride and handling, even at lower ride heights. Since the spring perch is adjustable, you have full control over ride height and cornerweighting. The spring rates are 391 lb/in in the front and 258 lb/in in the rear, which gives a good handling balance. They also have a two-year warranty.

This package includes a set of NB upper mounts and all the required bushings and washers to install the NB suspension in an NA car. This allows you to take advantage of the newer design Mazda developed after 10 years of Miata production. You also don't reuse any of your original suspension parts, so installation is easier. If you have an NB and want to replace every single bit, this is the package for you.

They're not quite in the same league as the FOX in terms of outright speed, but they do offer excellent value and are a good choice for someone who wants an inexpensive coilover setup. Includes front and rear springs, four shocks, adjusting tools and bumpstops as well as new upper mounts and bushings.

NA Miatas are all getting up there in age and the chassis are starting to get a little floppy. As these spring and damping rates are significantly stiffer than stock, they will work best on a car with good chassis bracing. The FM butterfly brace is probably the best thing you can do to make your older Miata feel new again.

Not compatible with FM's rear upper mounts, as this combination provides more compression travel than the suspension can physically deliver. We recommend the use of factory upper mounts only.

Please note that these were designed as a performance setup, and thus work best at a lower-than-stock ride height. We recommend setting them at approximately 12"-12.5" in the front and 12.5"-13" in the rear. They are not intended to be run much higher than that.

Customer warning: Flyin' Miata is the exclusive US distributor for Miata V-Maxx suspension. Kits from elsewhere will not have a warranty nor will they have the correct spring rates. Buyer beware!

The absolute best

For reference I was using some pretty beat coils before this, but all I have to say is wow! My first run through the backroads did not only put a gigantic smile on my face, but it brought a tear to my eyes. This suspension feels incredible, the install is relatively easy, besides the rears because I did need a second hand to compress the spring as I put the nuts on (pre-installation in car). If you're looking at other suspension around this price, choose this one. These guy's know what works best. The ride is smooth even on bumpy roads, the corner feel is unmatched (it feels like you can take a corner twice as fast), and it overall significantly boosts your confidence.

I would recommend these to anyone and everyone!

They're okay.

I've had the classics on my NA for a couple of years, and have had nothing but problems with them. They ride okay for the money, but other than that, I honestly wouldn't buy V-MAXX again. Within 1 year, the zinc plating failed, and the shock bodies are completely covered in rust. The shock shaft threads are fine thread, so one has stripped (capture nuts are a dumb way to go). Spring quality is not great as one of my springs has compressed further than the others and have had to reset my ride height several times. The helper spring seats did not come anodized aluminum like the photo shows, and instead came with a poly seat. These created slop allowing all four main springs to rub the shock body after ~5k miles.
Since day one, I've had a loud knock in the coilovers over something small like road seams; assembled them as per FM's instructions. Tracked it down with chassis ears to noise inside the shock. Had help from FM initially, then their communication dropped. Just have tried to ignore the noise ever since.

Spend a little extra money on coilovers, almost everything else on the market is better designed for a little bit more money, and won't be made in a no-name Chinese factory.

High quality performance shock

Purchased for my NB. Installed them myself. I have now gotten a whole season in and driven them on all kinds of roads and can say that these are very good quality entry level shocks for everyday driving and nice stance. Dont cheap out and buy the $400 ebay coilovers. These guys at FM know exactly what theyre doing. Their products are built and developed by Miata specialists!

Excellent suspension, especially for the money

Great product for lowering your car with a ride that is suitable for daily driving. On a bare bones 1990, the car shows it's age and light weight on bumpy roads, but the car is still fairly compliant, though definitely not stock like.

Would prefer a pre-assembled option as those rubber washers can be a bit of a pain, but the instructions are fairly clear.

The instructions starting spring perch height of 9 and 5 inches respectively, set my car to roughly 13" f & r. So need to go a bit lower. But all in all, it's a great suspension and I appreciate the one piece shock as adjustable shock bodies, in the past, have proven to lose their luster once you put them on the car.

I can't drive 55/65/---

Purchased the sport v maxx, wanted to be able to adjust final ride height to my liking. After breaking them in, I'm around 12 1/8 front and 12 7/8 rear. Also set the firmness to what flyin miata suggests and I am very happy with the results. Previously installed the flyin frame rails, and with these added the ride is sooo much smoother. Wish I'd done this sooner! Turns are crisp, right now response. Hard to beat for the price.
