Introducing the new X-series widebands from AEM!

This new generation moves the game on. It's fast, really fast for maximum accuracy.  It will display AFR or Lambda values with a wider range than before - on gas, it can measure from 8.0:1 to 20:1 AFR. It can output either a CAN signal or a 0-5V signal for use by your ECU.

The controller is integrated into the gauge, which is now less than 7/8" thick. You can see in the pictures how slim it is, this opens up a number of near-flush mounting options. The LEDs are auto-dimming so you don't go blind at night.
Why do you want a wideband? Normal oxygen sensors are only accurate around stoichiometric (14.7:1) air/fuel mixtures. If you run more rich or more lean, they'll give you misleading readings. Wideband sensors avoid this problem. That's why they're used on every dyno. The kit includes a wideband oxygen sensor, the electronics (inside the gauge unit), wiring and even a bung that can be welded into your exhaust if you don't have one already.

Don't forget to calibrate
Easy enough to install, and I like that this Wideband gives almost instant AFR response numbers

Works as intended. Great instructions and data breakdown.
The AEM works and the installation was straight forward. Be warned this model does not have a narrowband output like previous models. Not really a problem as most will be using standalone engine management.

Works Great with Megasquirt or Standalone
This was very easy to install and seems to be working well. I am using this with in a naturally aspirated 1990 miata with a Megasquirt ECU. I had some issues at first because the signal ground was not connected very well, so the numbers were sporadic.

To install, I used an Add-a-fuse in the footwell fuse box in a switched 5V location with a red 5 amp fuse. The ground wire was run through the firewall by the pedals. The White wire on the AFR guage (signal +) is run to pin 21 on the Megasquirt Options plug. The Brown wire (signal -) is run to pin 22, which is specifically the signal ground pin. One option is to run the red wire to the switched 5V option pin on the Megasquirt as opposed to the add-a-fuse I did.

Make sure to calibrate the O2 sensor BEFORE putting it in the exhaust. It must be clean open air when calibrated. Hope this helps anyone! Also, thank you to FM for calling me to ask if I needed any assistance. That was a very nice gesture and was very much appreciated.
