The Miata has always had one of the best feeling shifters on the planet. But as they get older, some of the components start to wear and it slowly loses precision. You might not even notice, but it's not what it was. Luckily, it's easy to rebuild, and you can access everything from inside the car.

This kit includes all the pieces you need to make your shifter feel new again. All components are factory Miata parts. It even includes new shifter boots.

For 1999-05 5-speed transmissions as well as 1999-01 6-speed (production up to 08/01/01).

Easy and worthwhile
Both boots where badly torn on my 2000, my plastic bushing was gone and my fluid was horrendous. This with new fluid was an amazing refresh that was done by sitting in my drivers seat.

Surprising Result
My trans tunnel was radiating heat which was heating up the cabin. Since I just bought the car and it has 106k miles on it.....I decided to rebuild the shifter. It makes so much difference I couldn't believe it. No more heat ... shifts more crisp. Highly recommend doing this little 45 minute job. Another tip...go ahead and change your trans fluid...the combination is fantastic.
