Description
A Class 1 hitch (200 lb tongue, 2000 lb trailer weight) with a 1 1/4" square receiver that is invisible? Yes please!
This hitch is built in two parts - a removable receiver and the permanently installed base unit. When the receiver is in place, you're set up to tow a small trailer or carry a bike rack. But if you pull it off, the base unit is invisible. So you have a hitch when you need it, but nobody will know your secret when it's removed.
No drilling is required to install.
Includes hitch pin and all mounting hardware. Equipped with safety chain anchors. Fits with the Club aero bits - there are two positions for the receiver, so it can be run a bit lower to clear the diffuser.
Compatible with our Hush-o-matic exhaust.
Not compatible with the Fiat 124 Spider, as the reverse light is in the way. If you would like one shipped outside the US, or if you're in Alaska or Hawai'i, please contact Hard Dog Fabrication directly.

The drop reciever could be engineered better for a nicer fit and less shake/rattle/side to side sway with just a pin(as mine came 3yrs ago).
They have an anti-rattle kit that works but was hard for me to use. I ended up JB welding the threaded insert in place in the drop reciever.
Have had the on the car since new and I have owned the car over three years.
Hasen't rusted too bad and has being great for the mountain bikes!
Probably worth it if you like nice days, trail riding, and cruising top down on the way home!

I enjoyed the experience of installing it to my Miata, even though it's a bit hard since it's my first time doing any type of car modifications. The hideaway feature works great!
The hitch arrived quickly well-packaged with all required hardware. The instructions provided were clear and I was able to mount with no instructional videos. One comment to add on the instructions - my vehicle only had 2, not 4 "hex head screws" under the bumper to remove the bumper cover. My vehicle is a RF Club without the aero package. If you leave the receiver "mounted" to the car, it does have a noticeable rattle, but because it can be removed, I don't see this as an issue.
