Details

The Voodoo Box - a Flyin' Miata exclusive - is an easy way to provide extra fuel for forced induction without any effort. How it works is simple. The on-board MAP sensor measures the pressure in the intake manifold. If more fuel is needed, the Voodoo Box intercepts the signals going from the stock ECU to the injectors and lengthens it.

It also intercepts the signal from the oxygen sensor so that your stock ECU will not compensate from the extra fuel being delivered. Otherwise, you could be running lean under boost at part throttle. Not only does this cause hesitation and odd behaviour, but it's not safe for your engine! This feature is not included on other similar devices, and is equivalent to our O2 signal modifier. Air/fuel meters that use the stock O2 sensor will show a lean condition when the O2 clamp kicks in.

When installed correctly, the Voodoo will not cause any problems with the OBD-II system. It's a fundamental part of our 50-state legal turbo kits for the NA and NB. The CARB EO only applies to the complete turbo kit, the Voodoo Box alone is not approved for use in California.

Installation is simple with a total of 5-7 wires involved with no tuning. Various LEDs will help you identify any errors if there's a problem. No extra fuel pumps are needed. Preprogrammed for turbocharged use.

Note that 1993 Miatas built for California emissions have the same fuel injector wiring and should use the NA8/NB version of the Voodoo Box. If you install a 1990-93 Voodoo on one of these cars, it will detect an error and shut down. To determine if your 1993 is a California model car, look at the emissions sticker under the hood and see if California is mentioned.

The Voodoo Box solved my air/fuel ratio problems.
I have a 97 Miata & about four years ago I installed a Bell Engineering CARB legal kit. It ran OK for a couple of years, but air/fuel ratio started acting up (lean under boost). Instead of replacing the antiquated variable fuel pressure regulator or secondary fuel pump, I removed them & installed your Voodoo Box. Now under boost the air/fuel ratio is running between 12/1 & 13/1 (Just Right). I’m still using a Bipes ACU for timing retard under boost & it works fine along with the Voodoo Box. Now I feel confident my engine will run fine. Great solution to my air/fuel ratio problems. Before the install, I called your technical support for help, they were both knowledgeable & friendly. (THANK YOU)
