  1. Pretty Darn Good

Shipped to me exactly as they should. My regular wheel nuts don't really appreciate the slots, so you almost have to use some old ones laying around.
My ONLY gripe is that the ball casters, on the bottom, don't roll well for very fine adjustments on any garage floor that isn't surfaced. This isn't a design flaw since most poly wheels don't support the loads required. I have some sheet steel to put them on, and it fixed that issue. Maybe Version 6 could ship with some stainless roller plates.

  2. A Worthy Addition to the Tool Set

Overall, these are well made but I did have to do some cleanup when assembling as it looked like someone got a bit heavy handed with the powdercoat gun.

Set up and use is reasonably easy and values are repeatable. I probably gained more insight from Keith's video on the hubstands than from the instructions that came with them. Some of the pictures appeared to be earlier generation stands and did not seem to translate directly to these newer ones.

I've now done a couple of alignments with them so they haven't paid for themselves yet but with four "toy cars" to play with, they will pay for themselves in the long run and I find alignments much easier and faster to do with these hubstands than with jackstands and strings.

  3. Good stands for the value

These stands are easy to use (even for a first timer) and provide accurate at home alignments. The finish quality of the stand could be better (powder coating in threads, rough edges, holes that needed deburred). Once assembled they worked great, the thrust angle measurements are easy to read, camber and caster was a breeze, and measuring toe was as simple as reading a tape measure. Highly reccommend for the DIYer.

  4. Accurate alignments at home

I purchased these hub stands with a few friends so we could do alignments at home. I've been doing alignments professionally for years on expensive equipment, so I'm very familiar with the process. We have done four alignments so far with these hub stands, and they are fantastic. If you dont know how to align a car, it will take some time to familiarize yourself with the process. Miatas can be especially frustrating due to the amount available adjustments. The level of accuracy the hub stands provide is on par with an actual alignment machine. Material and build quality are top notch.

  5. Don't buy them!!!

I sent an email with photos and a video showing that my stands were not level. I also asked why the alignment bars are not straight. I had to shim all of the stands to get them as close to level as possible. Out by a quarter of an inch on two of them. Pretty sad when the equipment you use to do an alignment is out that bad.

The answer I received was just a cut and paste from Paco "saying" how they "intend" to manufacture a part, but no explanation as to "why" my parts came the way they did. I also had to clean out the bolt holes because they were full of powder coating. No response even after I asked FM for more information.

Very disappointed in how Flying Miata an Paco treated me on this.

When I asked Flying Miata for an explanation, nobody bothered to get back to me.

Real glad I spent $1000 for a part that nobody seems to care about.

Note from FM: since this review was posted, we did manage to make contact with Michael and Paco Motorsports. We believe the concerns were addressed.
