Customer Reviews 2 item(s)
Let me clarify the rating: 1 star for the product, 5 stars for the customer service=3 stars. I ordered the upgraded hard lines with my turbo kit. The outboard line has been fine. Both the first and the replacement lines sprung leaks at the solder joint with the banjo fitting. The tube is aluminum I think (not magnetic) and the fitting is some kind of steel (magenetic). Not sure if it was brazed or just plain soldered but they need to figure out a better way to connect the two. My solution was to completely remove the fitting, sand off all the solder, then bond with JB Weld. So far so good, but I assume it will fail at some point with all that heat. Many thanks to Eric Anderson for sending me replacements. The second replacement line is sitting in my garage waiting to be installed when the JB Weld fails. Hopefully that will remain water tight.
- Not compatible with Coolant Reroute kit
Don't buy this if you have or will install the Coolant Reroute kit. The TURBO CONNECTION KIT FOR FM COOLANT REROUTE is what you will need and routes the water to the back of the engine rather than the front like the hard lines do. Watch the video on the Reroute installation because it shows the installation with a turbo. To quote Customer Support, "The hard lines and turbo connection from the reroute can’t be installed together. From a physical/engineering perspective, the reroute turbo connection kit is more efficient in helping the rest of the cooling system deal with the added heat of the turbo. Having said that, we’ve sold hundreds of hardline kits and they’ve proven themselves effective on mostly street driven cars."
