Description

Details

Give your ND an integrated rear view camera! These are especially useful on RFs, but we like them on all our cars. This is a full factory-style integration without the weird little bumper pimple that the 2019 cars got. Shift into reverse, and the screen on your dash changes to the camera view including side traffic alerts. Head forward and you're back to normal.

The distance indicators on the screen are more useful than some of the other aftermarket cameras out there. They range from 8" to 28" from the bumper, making it easy to back in perfectly.

Not compatible with Sport models that do not have a screen for obvious reasons. Easy installation, it's plug and play other than one new hole you need to drill above the license plate. The kit even includes the right size hole saw.

Camera and wiring harness. Similar to Mazda part ND0-301197A.

Bottom line - great video, clean look, works great
-The video is just as important as the product itself! A few things to note. The car in the video has a roll bar, so the plastic by the seat belt is easy to take off, not quite so if you have the factory set up. I found using a coat hanger as a messenger line worked better than fishing with needle nose.

- Car Play - The dealer installed the upgrade 2 days prior to my installation of the camera. Not sure if there would be any issue. No problems at all.

- Installation time - Having never taken a Miata apart before I took is slow and steady. About 2.5 hours start to finish.

- Bottom line - great video, clean look, works great.

Looks and works great
Just installed today. The video instruction is awesome! I have two recommended improvements:

- First, wait to install the gasket until you've done all the drilling and wire wrangling. You can gently massage it around the camera. I wish I had done that :(
- Second, when fishing the camera wire through the trunk you can actually see everything from below. I put a small flashlight in the hole with the removed grommet and then parked the camera wire near it. Popped back up and pulled it through with some needle nosed pliers. I wish I had tried this first instead of swearing constantly!

It worked as soon as I put on power and looks way better than the factory 'pimple' on later NDs. Great price and quick shipping. Thanks!
