1995 FM II for sale
Purchased by the current owner in 1998 with 3,000 miles, the car now has less than 63,000 miles and has been a desert car its whole life. Accident free, but repainted in Mazda “Velocity Red Mica” (aka Mazdaspeed red) due to sun damage. The paint job is excellent, the only hint is the fact that it’s not a stock color for this car.
All work has been done by Flyin’ Miata. The FM II was installed in 2006 and uses the Link ECU but otherwise has the current generation design. Timing belt was done in 2014, again by Flyin’ Miata. All lubricants are Redline synthetic. A great chance for a properly built classic turbo Miata. We do recommend changing the tires as the ones on the car are old.

Its been driven 783 miles since completed. Odometer reads 119,254 miles.
This is not a professional shop build. This was a garage build. That being said everything that could have been perfected in order to get vehicle running and operating properly was done. Lots of time was spent ironing out little issues for example, throttle position sensor has been updated to a BMW unit, transmission tunnel has been gold tape wrapped underneath, metallic high flow catalytic added to cut down on fuel smell, airplane air scoop added to driver side side panel to promote air circulation near drivers feet, etc etc. too much to list.
Its a running driving completed project but improvements can be made. This is, as far as i could tell, the only Exocet that has been built with a front lip. Its custom made out of a Mazda Miata front lip. Its not a finished item. It would have had bondo added to smooth out and a mold made to produce a 1 piece carbon lip. Wiring harness is a full length stock Miata harness modified and extended where necessary to get all functions working. Bespoke harness would have been made eventually if kept. Fuel tank is a factory unit with a Walbro pump and custom filler neck. Fuel cell would have been used at a later date. The very last thing is 5th gear has a crunch on engagement. Its mild and transmission was not felt needed changing.
Reason for the sale is simple. Its not used as often as desired. Other priorities have taken over and bills need to be paid.
SHIPPING: I will communicate with buyer consistently and try to iron out shipping with buyer. Vehicle will need to be shipped in enclosed trailer. Willing to split shipping cost. If full asking price is paid I will cover shipping.

Fully built naturally aspirated lightweight 1994

The original owner put 74K street miles on the car. I purchased the car in November 2000 and built a no expense spared lightweight (1976 lbs.) CSP autocross car for SCCA national competition. It took approximately 1 year to build this car. It competed in 5 Pro Solo events and was retired from competition due to a change of employment. Thereafter, the car was driven sparingly just to give it some exercise. The car has had less than 500 miles put on it since its completion. It has always been stored indoors in a climate controlled garage. The car has not seen a drop of rain in the last 17 years.
Everything on this car was optimized and built to be as light and fast as possible within the SCCA CSP rules when the car was built. You can see from the build pictures that this car was completely disassembled, painted and then painstakingly built from there. Virtually every part was either replaced with new or rebuilt before going back on the car.
A brand new motor was sourced from Mazda Comp. It was then sent to Burtonsville Performance Machine for competition assembly.

Custom header built with pyrometer sensors in each header tube.
Custom low restriction exhaust built and terminates behind driver.
Intake and throttle bodies (45mm) from TWM.
Intake, head and header were all flowed and port matched to optimize flow.
Flyin’ Miata high flow fuel pump with braided stainless plumbing.
Transmission rebuilt with all new synchro’s.
Brand new Torsen differential, axles, bearings, and brakes sourced from Mazda Comp.
All suspension arms have Mazda Comp supplied Delrin bushings.
All suspension arms, sub frames, torque arm, transmission case, differential housing are powder coated.
Motec M4 with data logging dash and custom Mil Spec harness and connectors were installed by Motec to handle the engine management.
Extensive tuning performed at Maryland Performance Center’s Superflow Dynamometer.
Dual Spal fans with custom shroud handle the cooling.
Custom valved triple adjustable Penske shocks purpose built by Guy Ankeny of Ankeny Racing Enterprises (Previous CSP Miata national champion).
Custom Kirkey roadster style seats.
Momo steering wheel.
New Dynabatt lightweight dry cell battery.
New top and carpet.
Panasport 13"x10" 3 piece wheels w/new Toyo R888 rubber.
Racing Beat front sway bar with bracing and urethane bushings and heim jointed link ends.
Rear sway bar not on car but included with sale.
New windshield, carpet etc.
Virtually all of the hardware on the car is new from Mazda Comp or Wurth Fasteners.
This car currently has historic tags but I would not consider it a daily driver. It would make a great weekend play toy. This car is very quick and handles extremely well.

1990 Mariner Blue
Well folks the time has come for me to find a new good home for my 1990 Mazda Miata which I purchased in 2002. I grew up with MG’s, Sprites, Triumphs & wanted a roadster project car. As I remembered the days of dealing with all of the old fashioned carburetor & electrical issues of the classics I discovered the Miata & that’s where this journey started.
This is an original Colorado car sold to a lady in Denver in December 1989 for $21,108. The car was caught in a hailstorm & she traded it to a Cadillac dealer in December 2001. A small local dealer in Longmont, Colorado purchased & repaired the car in February 2002. This included replacing the two front fenders, hood & trunk lid and a new Mariner Blue paint job at a cost of $2330. I picked it up for $5900 with 63074 miles, brought it home & then the fun begins. And yes I have all of the backup paperwork for all of this along with a Car Fax report for the car.
While the car was stock I did enter it in a few SCCA Solo 2 events in the E Stock Novice class at the Coors Field parking lot B. I did some autocrossing back east in mall parking lots & this was way bigger, better & faster. It was fun but I soon realized I’m a better builder than driver.
