FM V-Maxx Classic coil overs for NB

V-Maxx Classic Coilovers for NB
FM V-Maxx Classic coil overs for NB
A good coilover kit for an excellent price. Fixed damping matched to the springs. Exclusive to FM!

Exclusive to Flyin' Miata

Availability: In stock

Improved! The rear shocks now have offset bushings for extra clearance between the spring and the halfshafts. This gives you a wider range of height adjustment. We have also gone to a single long front spring to give maximum travel without coil bind.

To answer one of the most common questions - yes, this price is for a full set of four.

An exclusive to Flyin' Miata! Like many of our other suspensions, this has been tortured at the Targa Newfoundland. Twice.

You'd be amazed at how many suspension systems we test at Flyin' Miata. Even with a full line of parts, we're always looking for good options to pass along to our customers. When we first tried the V-Maxx suspension from the Netherlands, we didn't expect it to be any good due to the low price. To our surprise, it was better than most - but it wasn't quite right. So we changed the spring rates and bumpstop design until we had an end result that met our expectations, and worked with the manufacturer to bring our version to market.

So what makes them work?

The fixed shock damping is well-matched to the springs. A 1/2" shorter rear shock body gives extra compression travel for improved ride and handling, even at lower ride heights. Since the spring perch is adjustable, you have full control over ride height and cornerweighting. The spring rates are 391 lb/in in the front and 258 lb/in in the rear, which gives a good handling balance. The stock upper mounts are retained. They also have a two-year warranty.

They're not quite in the same league as the Fox in terms of outright speed, but they do offer excellent value and are a good choice for someone who wants an inexpensive coilover setup. Includes both sets of springs, four shocks, adjusting tools and bumpstops.

We recommend the use of factory upper mounts only.

Great value.
I was looking for a straight upgrade, not a huge drop, and didn't want to mess with adjusting dampers. These fit the bill at an outstanding price. I've been autocrossing Miatas for over 10 years but never had money to spend on upgrades until recently. I had an autocross two weeks after installing, and I was floored by how easy the car was to drive hard compared to the stock HardS setup. It was like the car was thinking ahead for me. They're equally good at Summit Point and comfortable to drive on the street to get there and back.

I like em!
Love my new FM V-Maxx Classic coil overs. Owned an NC for 5 years and it was 100% stock and I thought it handled good. Now own a NB and with this new suspension I think it handles great! I live about 40 minutes from the Tail Of The Dragon here in Tennessee and get to take some runs on it 3-4 times a month. Car stays flat in hard cornering, steering feels much more responsive and positive and this suspension gives me a lot more confidence to push harder than I was comfortable doing before. As far as the looks? I set the springs at FM's suggested heights of 12" front and 12 1/2" rear and the wheel gap is gone, looks MUCH better and I'm not scrapping on anything.I don't find the ride rough at all. Stiffer than OEM but that was the point. Guys tried to tell me I couldn't get a decent set-up for under a $1,000 but these V-Maxx suit me just fine! Only complaint I have is that Flyin Miata didn't send me any window decals so I can't advertise their product!!

Fantastic upgrade.
These were exactly what I was after. An excellent upgrade from the 20 year old suspension parts on my '99.

I have 2 notes for any DIY folks like myself:
1) Though they have removed the helper spring and gone with a single spring on the fronts, the plastic divider is still packaged with the coilovers. This should be removed before installation.

2) There is now a note on the site about the offset on the bottom rear mounts. THIS IS IMPORTANT. Don't do like me and install them backwards, or the adjustment collars can run into the half shafts. Simple enough to flip them around, but that was 30 minutes I could have spent doing something else.

All in all, I'm very pleased with my purchase. I will definitely order from Flyin' Miata again.

Can't beat this for a daily driver
Great value for the money. Replaced a harsh MSM suspension with these and the car is much more comfortable. Not only is it more comfortable doing daily duty, it's faster than the stock setup on the backroads. Install is pretty easy and everything seems well made.

Amazing results
Package is incredible! Great all around setup, I mostly do spirited back road driving and this is perfect for a daily driver. Fully adjustable ride height. Car also looks better with the lowered body. Nothing negative to say.

Worth every penny
Lowered to recommended settings. Looks great, minimal body roll, and actually pretty comfortable. I daily my car and its not to far off from the stock suspension in terms of being comfortable.
