The legendary FM II. It's the standard by which all Miata forced induction kits are measured.

Exclusive to Flyin' Miata

Unfortunately, the FM II is no longer available.

We offer the same proven hardware with the Voodoo Box as part of our 50 state legal, CARB approved Stage 1 turbo kit. You can also buy it without electronics and add your own engine management.

The following text remains for reference purposes.

The FM II is a legend in the Miata performance world, and this is the latest and most powerful version. Expect approximately 230 hp at the rear wheels at 12 psi, compared to a stock 93 hp. Driveability is excellent and there's no need to even remove the valve cover. Expect years of reliable high performance with this system. More power is available on built engines.

All of our turbo kits use the same basic hardware for super easy upgrade-ability. Every part has been designed taking performance, durability and installation ease into consideration. We don't believe there is a better (or more complete) turbo system available. With our kits, you won't be making extra trips to the hardware store for nuts and bolts; every part you need is included.

Fuel management is handled by either the Hydra Nemesis or the FM221. This gives you full control over every parameter of your engine, right down to individual injectors. A laptop is required for programming, although every ECU is pre-programmed before it leaves Flyin' Miata. Since the fuel pressure is not changed, a fuel pump upgrade is not necessary.

For more information on the two ECUs, please see their individual writeups: Hydra and FM221.

The standard turbocharger is the GT2560R. This is our favorite all-around turbo, providing good power potential with good spoolup. While a larger GT3071R is available, we don't recommend it for use on the 1.6 engine. A smaller GT2554R is also available for those who make response their highest priority.

The kit is also available without a turbocharger for those who want to substitute a different size or use one from a different source. If you choose to configure the kit that way, you will have to find a turbo.

Along with this turbo, you will need a new clutch. Cars that see track use or are in hot climates will also require a radiator upgrade.

Remember, all FM products come with full Lifetime Support to the original purchaser!

This kit will enter you into the Power Club.
For every FM II purchased, we'll buy a goat for a needy family.

Includes (unless configured otherwise):
Turbocharger, downpipe, manifold, intercooler, bypass valve, intake with baffle, all plumbing, silicone lower radiator hose, silicone water lines, high-temp oil drain line, braided stainless oil feed line, ECU, injectors, wideband O2 sensor, heat shielding and all nuts and bolts required for installation.

Excellent Turbo Setup
I just got back from the dyno with my FM2 equipped 1992 miata. In addition to the FM2 w/GT2560R combo, I am also running the flyin miata hybrid 2.5/3 inch exhaust. Engine management is handled by a megasquirt feeding a set of RX8 injectors. Starting from FM's baseline ignition timing adjusted slightly for 93 octane, the car put down 228whp and 190lb-ft. Needless to say, the car flies. Traction in first gear is practically non-existent and the sounds are incredible. I still get 30 mpg cruising down the highway staying out of boost. The FM2 kit is unbelievably complete and well put together. I highly recommend the FM stage 1 clutch upgrade as well along with a 4.10 torsen out of a later car to go along with this kind of power.

I'm still greening from ear to ear. I would recommend this kit to anyone who wants to increase the fun factor of a Miata.
Thank you Flyin' Miata for putting this great kit together and for your great customer service. I've had a great experience with this kit. The kit was complete, with every part that I needed to finish the job. Every part bolted on like it was from the factory. The instructions were very easy to follow and understand. Except for having to make the opening to accommodate the turbo and manifold, a little bit larger than what the instructions call for, it was a very easy install. The only reason for that was because the motor was in the car. The increase in power and torque were significant. I'm sure the addition of the happy meal package and the complete 3" stainless exhaust also helped in the power equation. The car has a new wonderful sound to go along with the power.
