They're designed to be really tight to the block for maximum clearance. There is no flange on the end, you can either use a band clamp to attach it to a 2.5" pipe or get out the welder. 1.5" primaries for clearance. We recommend an LS3 Corvette starter for maximum clearance. These headers are designed with a T56 style transmission in mind to fit within the tight confines of a Miata transmission tunnel so you will likely have clearance issues with wide bellhousings and/or other features on wider gearboxes and automatic transmissions.
The NA/NB version has a dimple to clear the steering column. The NC version does not. They are otherwise identical. Obviously, an NC version can be turned into an NA/NB version with careful hammer work.
