Flyin' Miata cam gear ninja tool
Whether the job in front of you involves a timing belt or liquid refreshment, this tool has what you need.

Made in the USA

Exclusive to Flyin' Miata

Availability: In stock

For the last couple of decades, Miata owners have complained about the difficulty of doing a timing belt change and getting the cam timing right. The intake cam is under a bit of pressure from a valve spring and wants to jump over to the next tooth. Solutions have included cutting belts in half, counting teeth and thousands of forum postings.

That era is over. The FM cam belt ninja tool slips between the two gears and locks them solidly into place. Simply slide it into place, remove the old belt, put on the new and everything is perfectly aligned. If you're going to remove the cam gears, the locked cams make it a lot easier to loosen and tighten the bolt holding the gears to the camshafts. You can also use the four holes to zip-tie the tool to the two gears, keeping them aligned when you pull them off the cams. It'll make you into a timing belt ninja, quick and smooth.
But we didn't stop there. To ensure you keep track of this tool, we gave it a second function. Pop a ring from a key ring in the lower hole and it can be with you always.
Naturally, it's made of stainless steel so splattered liquids won't result in ugly rust. Fits all NA and NB Miatas. Exclusive to FM, if the big logo didn't tell you that already.

This is one of the most popular products we sell.

Shipping note: When ordered by itself, the Ninja Tool will be shipped via USPS first class mail.

Finally bought it after years of fooling with wrenches on cams...definitely worth it!

$18 bottle opener
Great Idea if it actually worked. No so precision. Mine would not fit between the gears no matter how much time I spent wiggling and readjusting. Gave two stars because I assume it works OK as a bottle opener, although I didn't try it.

Here’s a beer for you
Holds the cam gears well and doubles as a beer opener for celebration when your timing is spot on! Cheers to easier work!

Save your sanity - get it before you remove timing belt cover.
A precision-cut tool. Wished I had the Ninja Tool the first time I replaced the belt. DO NOT depend on clamped wrenches to hold the cams in place! After getting it, it helped me to align, hold and zip-tie the exhaust camshaft sprocket to the timing belt coming from the timing pulley. While holding tension on the left-side of the belt, I adjusted the intake camshaft (It was as crazy-making as it sounds.). It would have saved me hours of tinkering.

I didn't change my own timing belt but my mechanic who did highly recommended this product.
As stated by the other reviewers this little tool works great.

A nice addition to my toolbox!
This is a great tool to have when it's time to replace the timing belt! Works great as a bottle opener too!

Just buy it!
Great tool to help with your timing belt change. Just make sure the cam gears are in the correct position, slide into place, then zip tie until your new belt is on! I haven't tried it for the main purpose (bottle opening) but I suspect it should also work well!

Good tool, excellent bottle opener
Set the cams where they need to be, add some zip ties and no worries about anything moving. Makes holding everything steady very easy. Can also be used to hold the cam in place for tightening.
