AiM Solo DL GPS lap timer
SOME OPTIONS IN STOCK
There are a lot of GPS lap timers on the market - and for good reason. They're a great way to improve your driving, check out changes to your car or even just come home with a cool souvenir. We've tried a few different types, from super-cheap to high end. The Solo DL is our favorite.
The coolest thing about it is the simplicity. It has an on-board rechargable battery that makes it really simple to install in any car - just stick it on the windshield and go. It's built to AiM's race-level quality standards, with proper connectors and a hefty feel. It'll show current or predictive lap times, making it easy to tell how much that little bit of oversteer hurt your time! At the end of your session, you can review your data on the screen.
For hard-core analysis, plug it into a laptop and use Race Studio 2 to see your lines, your braking/accel points and sector times. You can even download reference laps for your track and see where you measure up.
It also works as an on-board performance meter. You can perform 1/4 mile, 0-60 and 0-100 tests quickly and easily, making it a great way to measure the effect of any changes you make to the car.
It's not just a lap timer, though. It's a full on dash logger. You can plug it into your ECU. You have the choice of an OBD-II connection (for stock ECUs) or a CAN connection (for the Hydra Nemesis). Now it'll display and datalog any parameter you want, such as throttle position, engine RPM or temperatures.
Compatible with the AiM Smarty Cam, so all this data can be overlaid on video in-camera. No post-processing required!
