While most of the differential movement is restrained by the stock Power Plant Frame, stiffer side bushings can also help cut down on it. This means your shifter moves less and more power is transmitted through to the wheels. It'll also help you avoid the classic 2-5 shift.
These Mazda Competition parts are about 40% stiffer than stock. They'll increase NVH slightly, but not as dramatically as solid mounts or polyurethane ones.
Fits all NA and NB Miatas. Sold individually, there are two needed per car.
My stock mounts looked fine, but soon as I put these on, the shifter rattle at high RPM was eliminated. I later rebuilt the shifter and installed mazdaspeed motor mounts and the improvement wasn't as big. There was a minor NVH increase but it's nothing to be concerned about.
They are a little pricey however, the cheaper IL motorsports version came out shortly after I got these so you might want to check that out instead.
Went stock engine mounts and the Mazdaspeed on the rear differential. You definitely need to replace both. Shifting is much more reliable 2 > 3 on hard rev acceleration. Definitely more noise on hard acceleration for MazdaSpeed diff bushings. It’s a sports car sound, so I give it a thumbs up on sound. I would call it a a hard buzz angry sound. Normal acceleration, I rate the sound as about the same. Given the sound pick up with Mazdaspeed diff bushings, I am glad I went stock on front engine mounts.
Handling and acceleration seems much improved. I recommend.
