V-Maxx coilovers give you an adjustable setup for ride and handling. FM sway bars let you adjust your handling balance and make the car corner flatter and transition faster. Mix them together and you get the V-Maxx stage 2 kit - an excellent recipe for handling. It's what the Hammerhead teams used at the punishing Targa Newfoundland.

About the sway bars:

Sway bars are used to make your car corner flatter and react faster by keeping the body (and all the weight) under control. Ours are set up for neutral handling and are adjustable so you can tailor the handling of your Miata to your own driving style.

Our swaybars are hot formed from 4140 CrMo spring steel. This means they're stronger than the cold-formed bars found elsewhere. We've designed them to keep the same handling balance as your stock sways, but they have two settings in the front and three in the rear for fine-tuning. Includes brackets and urethane bushings with waterproof grease.

NB sizes are 1.0" front and 0.625" rear. They're a little bit stiffer than the factory Mazdaspeed ones, but more importantly the factory ones are not adjustable.

About the V-Maxx:

Improved! The rear shocks now have offset bushings for extra clearance between the spring and the halfshafts. This gives you a wider range of height adjustment. We have also gone to a single long front spring to give maximum travel without coil bind.

You'd be amazed at how many suspension systems we test at Flyin' Miata. Even with a full line of parts, we're always looking for good options to pass along to our customers. When we first tried the V-Maxx suspension from the Netherlands, we didn't expect it to be any good due to the low price. To our surprise, it was better than most - but it wasn't quite right. So we changed the spring rates and bumpstop design until we had an end result that met our expectations, and worked with the manufacturer to bring our version to market.

So what makes them work?

The fixed shock damping is well-matched to the springs. A 1/2" shorter rear shock body gives extra compression travel for improved ride and handling, even at lower ride heights. Since the spring perch is adjustable, you have full control over ride height and cornerweighting. The spring rates are 391 lb/in in the front and 258 lb/in in the rear, which gives a good handling balance.

The stock upper mounts are retained. They also have a two-year warranty and are available in a TUV approved version with different rear spring rates.

They're not quite in the same league as our top-level coilovers terms of outright speed, but they do offer excellent value and are a good choice for someone who wants an inexpensive coilover setup. Includes front and rear springs, four shocks, adjusting tools and bumpstops.

We recommend the use of factory upper mounts only. It's also the best choice for a car with a V8 swap.

Big Improvement on Stock Sport Suspension

I opted for this package as my 99 NB is my daily driver, and not all of the roads are in great shape. Plus I wanted to get better control over the rear body roll that this model exhibits even with the factory sports suspension. I figured the stiffer sway bars would fix that niggle. They did, and the new shocks give a noticeably stiffer but still comfortable ride that removed the jiggles of aging shocks. There is a winding piece of road up on a mountainside leading up a local dam, with a mountain on one side and a steep drop-off on the other. My son and I went up that road with the throttle wide open and I was utterly impressed with the sticktion. Ah, the everlasting joy of a singing Miata! It was as much of an improvement as I could have wanted without going into a brain rattling race set up.
[Now if I could only figure out how to boost HP without a blower and still CARB legal...]

A great package that has helped transform my car

Great kit when purchased with new bushings. I was able to do all four corners and the sway bars in a night just using basic hand tools and a cheap spring compressor kit. The kit does not match the price, it is a great value.

After letting the suspension settle for a week I did a final height adjustment (12" front and 12.5" rear) and got the car aligned to the given specs. Before the final height adjustment, a set of frame rail reinforcements, derlin door bushings, fender braces, and the alignment I was slightly concerned about how the car felt. After everything was installed and dialed in I am now in love with how the car drives down the road and handles in the corners. The ride is gentle enough to drive daily but firm enough to let me rip around the corners with confidence inspiring grip.

Great Suspension for Weekend Fun Car!

I cannot be happier with this stage II suspension package. I installed this myself and the process was very painless, I used the long bolt method. The parts where high quality and such eye candy after installed. I notice night/day difference when taking moderate speed(40-60mph) turns. The car is much more responsible and any "iffyness" were completely eliminated. I also switched over the some nice summer tires, and I can really feel the weight transfer from side to side. I have only driven the car spiritfully on the street, so I cannot speak to high speed track performance, but for what I intended to use the car for. (weekend fun drive) This is PERFECT!

Great product for the price, good option for a car that is dailyed, weekend car, track car, or au...

The Package is very good, not too stiff, but not too soft, still able to daily the car with the spring rates. they work very well and performed excellent on the track. My only recommendation is to not use FM alignment numbers. if you want the most performance out of your car i would run a lot more camber than is recommended especially if you have summer tires.
