Exclusive to Flyin' Miata

Go big or go home! For maximum power and spool, we now offer a full 3" exhaust system. When tested on our 266 rwhp 2004 Miata, we saw peak power jump by 16 hp, peak torque by 10 lb-ft and maximum boost showed up 200 rpm sooner when compared to one of our 2.5" systems.  Yes, it's available as an upgrade on all new kits.  Naturally, it's made on a CNC mandrel bender for perfect fit and better flow than a pieced-together version. And as with all of our exhausts, it's polished stainless steel from end to end.

The sound is deeper, but no louder than our other turbo exhausts. Due to the size and design of these components, the complete exhaust is replaced right from the turbine outlet to the tailpipe. The catalytic converter is a very high flow metal core unit. Compatible with all factory bracing and the butterfly brace. Lifetime warranty on the exhaust, 5 years/50,000 miles on the catalytic converter. Includes all hardware and gaskets.

Available as a complete package that includes a new 3" downpipe (compatible with all FM turbos that use the cast or fabricated turbine outlet) or a hybrid system that will bolt up to our standard 2.5" downpipe.

Dyno chart compared to our standard 2.5" FM turbo parts.

For all 1.8 Miatas fitted with an FM II turbo system. For Voodoo and Voodoo II systems, we recommend adding the restrictor kit to help keep boost levels under control. The high flow metallic cat is more likely to cause check engine lights and the rear O2 sensor might have clearance problems, so it's not recommended for 1996-05 cars that use the stock ECU. Does not fit Mazdaspeed MX-5s that retain the stock turbo. 1999-05 version shown.

1990-93 cars can use the 2.5" to 3" hybrid version if they have our special downpipe that's compatible with an NA8 cat. If the car's been given a 1.8 swap, they can use the complete 3" system.

Customer Reviews 3 item(s)

Sounds Great. Poor Fitment.
97’ Miata; FM cast turbo manifold; GT2560r (sourced used); FM cast turbine outlet; FM full 3” exhaust. The exhaust doesn’t clear the transmission bell housing and rattles with engine movement.

Note from FM: JMH, please contact us.

Probably the best Miata exhaust there is
fitted with FM2 kit and the butterfly brace. I was skeptical about how well a 3" system would fit along with the butterfly brace. Really pleased with how easily everything lined up. Also! with a turbo, this system is NOT loud and Honda-y at all. Very mild and exactly what I wanted.

Exhaust is good, cat is bad.
Fitment of the kit is great. My catalytic converter failed (The core came loose) after 3000 miles. Was denied warranty on it due to a surface scratch on the cat. FM did give me a partial store credit for it though.

I have also done a T2 transmission swap. The 3" downpipe will clear the T2 transmission with some light trimming of the T2 bell housing. The cat and first flange will not however.
