The "Skip Cannon " package
Kosei K1 TS wrapped in Kumho Ecsta V710 |
| Skip Cannon runs these as his track wheels. They're a good match to a 270+ rwhp Miata that sees a lot of track time. And yes, Skip runs the orange wheels on a yellow car.
The K1 TS is one of the best bargains on the market for a light wheel. There's been some recent confusion about the weight, ranging from 10.5 to 12.6 lbs for the 15" size, but it's still a great deal at $149 for that size. For an added bit of cred, they come with two valve stems to make it easy to purge the tires if you run nitrogen.
The V710 is the stickiest tire Kumho makes. Period. If you want to win autocrosses or outcorner pretty much anything at a track day, it's what you want. It's a race tire, though, and will wear like one. The V710 might be DOT-legal but that doesn't mean you want to run them on the street. 4/32" of new "tread" depth so shaving is not required but they should be heat-cycled before competition.
This wheel/tire combination is shipped mounted and balanced.
We've shown some recommended combinations. If you're interested in something that's not listed, please contact us. Prices may vary slightly due to changes in the costs of tires. To order, please call us at 1-800-FLY-MX5s (359-6957). |
