The V-Maxxes worked great!
The V Maxx coil-over set up I got from Flyin’ Miata worked great on the tight bumpy skidpad we have here at Firebird International Raceway.

AFCO suspension results
I wanted to follow back up with you and give you a report on the new AFCO’s now that I have a good apples to apples comparison. At the event in April 2011, my wife and I turned our fastest laps ever at our home track, Roebling Road Raceway outside Savannah Ga. This is a 2.0 mile course and our times at that event were 1:26 and 1:28 respectively. At that event, we had a brand new set of r-comps on the stock MSM suspension with an upgraded front sway bar.
This past weekend, we were back at the track now armed with the AFCO’s and another brand new set of the same r-comps. My wife and I were both 2 seconds faster than our previous fastest laps! I drive in the advanced group and my wife is in the intermediate group, so I contribute the lap time differences to the shocks. Thanks again for all your input on selecting the AFCO’s.
Below is the car’s set-up:
AFCO’s with 550f / 400r springs
1.125” RB front SB
-2.1 degrees front/-1.8 rear camber
12.0” front height
12.5” rear height
205/50/16 Hankook Z214 tires (r-comps)
215/40/17 (street tires)

99-05 resonated 2.25" midpipe and cat
Hi Bill,
I put the Flyin` Miata resonated midpipe and catalytic converter (2.25
inch) on my '04 Miata NB last week. Delivery time, packaging and quality of the midpipe are really top notch. It attached to my existing Racing Beat header and Power Pulse Muffler with absolutely no problems and no leaks. I used your gaskets and also RB's donut gaskets like you suggested. I used to notice an increase in torque above about 4000 rpms during acceleration. Now, with the addition of the midpipe, I notice increased torque threw all the rpm range. A lot smoother acceleration and no O2 sensor error codes either.
A really great investment to complete my exhaust system in my opinion.
Thanks again,

What a fast car I have now!
Dear Flyin’ Miata,
I just got through installing your supercharger on my ‘06 MX5, and I have to tell you, I HAD NO IDEA how fast it would make this car. I’m not a mechanic, and I have previously discounted the possibility of ever doing something like this because it seemed overwhelming. But I decided to browse through the instruction manual you have posted on your website, and discovered that you had broken the task down in to such bite sized portions that seemed so manageable to someone like me with only moderate wrenching skills. So I ordered the kit, thinking it would be a good winter-long project, and before I knew it I was taking my first test drive after only 25 or so total work hours. Much easier that I thought, and HOLY COW what a fast car I have now. Hats off to you guys for producing a product that someone with $5K, moderate mechanical skills, and a decent tool collection can handle.

quality parts
Dear folks at Flyin' Miata; I recently ordered a timing belt kit and crank holding tool from you all and I would like to thank you for the excellent service and quality parts. I was very pleased to see that the belt is Conti and the v.c. gasket is Japanese, not Hecho in China. The tool worked a treat and although I hope to not use it again anytime soon it will occupy a place in my toolbox. I ordered some stuff from one of your competitors and am still awaiting delivery. I plan to keep the car until it wears out so you will hear from me first whenever I need parts. Thanks again for the splendid service.
Sincerely,

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I wanted to update ya'll on our 1990 FM III.
My wife, Doris and I just drove her from our Jennings, LA home to Key West, Florida and back. She has over 210,000 boosted miles on the original engine that has never been cracked open.
You folks are the best!!!
I will see if I can send another case of Turbo Dog beer to you soon.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
All the best,

Great service!
Hi,
I received a nice phone message from FM today following up on our transaction Just want to say service was great and the NC dual exhaust is everything you say it is on your website and more – really a top quality product. I will definitely look at FM’s offerings first whenever I get ready for more modifications to my MX-5.
Thanks!

Thank you!
Bill,
I received my order today! I worked in Receiving at Best Buy in college, and I can tell you that sensitive electronics do not get packaged as nicely as my order from FM was. Everything looks great, and it is all there. If it wasn’t for the day job, I would already have Super Squirrel up on jack stands. It will likely be a few weekends before I can install them and report back to you the awesome results. I may be making my next order be the roll bar (to make the car HPDE compliant), instead of the suspension kit. I don’t know if I can afford everything by the 19th of Nov (track day), so I have to go with what is required not desired. Of course I will still be getting that kit, but probably not till December. I appreciate the phone call (from Kyle I think), and I apologize for not responding... but my work hours make it nearly impossible to catch y’all during business hours. Again, thanks for all your help… and I will be in touch soon.
Sincerely,
Dale Daugherty

Thanks, FM!
Hello guys,
How are things going today, I hope well. before I get to the question, I just want to say that both my son and his wife (Brandon & Jayme Stith), and I (Thomas Stith), have been very pleased with our previous dealings with Flyin Miata. Everyone at the business has been professional and helpful every time we needed it. Even at the Mitty at Road Atlanta, when you guys had your hands full, you took the time to lend us tools and check on us from time to time. You're not just a business that sells us parts for our cars, you feel like friends. I just wanted to thank you guys for that.

Circumspect Canadian gone bad...
(sent separately to avoid the inevitable tut-tutting from the fairer sex):
I had a little encounter last night on the highway, getting a little closer to home. A bright yellow F430 Spider was out playing. Being the circumspect fellow that I am, I tried to ignore him – unfortunately to no avail. When traffic cleared, he pulled up next to me in the left lane and paced, er, provoked me. I surreptitiously put it into 4th (yes, I felt less confident than when I went up against the M5) and gave a friendly wave to the wife/girlfriend in the passenger seat.
I heard him downshift a couple of times and nail it, so I rolled on the throttle. To my surprise, I started pulling on him nicely. I botched the shift into 5th and lost a bit of my lead, but immediately started gaining ground again. With traffic coming up, I shut ‘er down at somewhere north of 120 mph. He tried to get me to play some more, but by then I had nothing left to prove.
I suppose I should be somewhat ashamed by such anti-social shenanigans, but I ain’t. God, I love this car!
A perhaps not so circumspect FM2 two litre owner...

Stage 1 clutch and general goodness
Deb and all at Flyinmiata,
Just finished installing my happy meal clutch kit and lightweight
flywheel. Your parts were just as stated, in my opinion they are
fantastic. Don't have but a few miles on it but very pleased. UPS was a letdown but there again your staff was on the ball and was in the
process of refunding the price for 3day preferred delivery when the
parts were delivered late by UPS. I will definatley buy through flyin
miata next time I need a part. Keep up the good work.
Very Pleased

Voodoo!
Applicable to: '90 - '97 1.8 liter
FM Voodoo II kit with options: Ceramic coatings, hard-lines, HD downpipe hanger, MSD Boost Controller, GSB Turbo Fuse, AEM Wide-band O2 meter, dual gauge pod, and FM Level 1 clutch kit.
Instructions were very good. For me it was a long installation becaue I wanted a "factory look". The two most difficult parts of the install were: inter-fitting the turbo and radiator hoses (very tight spacing) and connecting the cat-back without "stressing" the downpipe. Boost pressure is set to 5-6PSI from FM, I bumped it up to 8PSI and tuned the VOODOO box accordingly. I already had a "big" Koyo radiator so cooling has not been an issue. Painted the front of the intercooler with flat-black ceramic for stealth. Clutch exposed my weak master cylinder so I had to replace it. Replaced slave while I was at it.
The car got substantially quieter (I was already running JR CAT and Bosal 2.25 exhaust). The extra power is amazing (estimate about 185 RWHP). The nose is a bit heavier (about 22 lbs) so had to adjust Koni's accordingly (about 1/4 turn more stiff). Handling is still great but the added power will catch you out if your not careful. Of course you'll get used to it and want more. Best to buy a temp gauge as the de-sensitized factory gauge will leave you guessing. Bill, Teri, Tammy, Brandon, Keith and Jeremy are great to work with. They recognize the substantial "investment" you are making and share knowledge and offer support without hesitation. I recommend this rather expensive kit, over one that you might cobble together, because FM has developed all of the "bugs" out of everything. To be successful at this installation, I only need to be an installer and a mild fabricator, not an automotive development engineer. Formula Doug ('94 M Edition)

Voodoo Turbo kit is awesome!
To whom it may concern,
I'd like to express my appreciation to all those people at Flyin Miata that helped make this build a success. Special thanks to Bill and Teri Cardell who answered my many questions regarding the turbo kit and the suspension package I had installed. The car drives like a rocket in boost! It also corners at high speeds and under torque without budging an inch. I can't thank you guys enough.

Nothing, I mean nothing, upset the balance of the car.
By the way, I installed your AFCO's last fall and had one track day with them. I was able to close on virtually everyone in the field in the twisties, and I maintained enough momentum to be pretty fast on the straights, though lack of horsepower limited my top end. I still need to get the setup dialed in but I ran over the curbs, bumps and gravel in the corners. Nothing, I mean nothing, upset the balance of the car.

Stage 2.5 is great!
Hi Bill,
I have a 1994 MX-5 M edition, stock, with General tire Altimax HP installed this year. With new tires body roll is excessive.
Just received my stage 2.5 suspension and butterfly chassis brace. Had my shop do the install, Luu Automotive, Randolph MA.
First impression - I now find the limitations of the Altimax tires, so now looking for rims and low profile tires, thanks Bill for making me want to spend more money on the MX-5 Hahaa.
Ride is slightly firmer. Concern that bumps would be uncomfortable - absolutely not. The magic with this suspension is the bumps are actually more comfortable as the suspension just works so much better all around. no skipping, no wiggling, no jiggling, just keeping the tire in the best possible contact with bumpy pavement.
bumps in corners - even more impressive!! - only slightly firmer than stock - but not harsh!! actually feels smoother - again it just works so much better than old stock keeping the tire in good contact
Flat in cornering and no dive on braking or squatting on accelerating.
Transitions - for example a quick left, right, left - the mass of the vehicle does not get thrown over the CG.
With the stock suspension I have almost lost control of the vehicle in this type of maneuver due to excessive body sway.
Driving with this suspension system is much safer and more fun compared to old stock. This must be experienced to believe how different the ride is!!
I'm sure you've heard it all before. Just so happy with the stage 2.5 set up had to shoot you a quick note and say thanks for bringing it back!!
Cheers,
Jim Ellsworth

1.8 Conversion
Well…after several months of tinkering around, and lot’s of help from you and the folks over in West Columbia at Panic Motorsports, I’ve got my 1.6L to 1.8L conversion just about wrapped up. I still have some fine tuning to do, but wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the parts and technical support that made the project possible for someone with very limited experience.

General goodness
"So I called flying Miata the other day and spoke to Mike about some items in their salvage section. After we discussed a few items (and they really know their stuff btw) I asked if he could mail me a catalog. Well the catalog came today and I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed. Every product has information on the design and why their product is better than the competitors. Not only that, but there are informational write ups on their v8 swaps and turbo kits. I know they make nice aftermarket parts, and I always thought they were a little over priced. My initial opinion of Flyin Miata was a company trying to make a profit off of trendy mid age miata owners, but after talking to someone who worked there I can truly appreciate their passion and knowledge. After my experience, and reading their ENTIRE catalog, I will definitely be buying from them for all my Miata needs."
I just wanted to take a second and let you know that serious miata owners know their stuff and appreciate a company that does too.
Thank you for all your assistance and customer service,

FM Built engine
Car has all the below FM parts:
FM long block engine rebuild with port and polish head and un-shrouded valves, water pump, oil pump, pistons, rods, timing belt, valve springs etc etc.
A complete FMII turbo/Hydra kit
FM dual feed fuel rail
Magnecor spark plug wires
FM Cross Flow radiator
FM Spal Level II fans
FM boost adjuster
FM Level II clutch and lightened flywheel
FM brake kit (rotors and pads)
FM steel brake & clutch line
Vmaxx coil over shocks/springs
Energy Suspension poly bushings (including differential)
FM sway bars
New eccentric bolts
Shifter Boots
All water hoses
All vacuum hoses
I have a huge pile of stock MSM stuff that is testament to all the things I have replaced.
I have spent more money at FM than I did to buy the car. (Interesting & completely worth every cent)
I kept all the stock wiring and most of the vacuum lines so when I do my OBII check and switch ECU’s and injectors the stock ECU is happy.
There is very little space left in this engine compartment. Between AC and ABS and a funny oil separator there are lots of stock things to deal with.
The cool part is because I had the car apart for six months I cleaned and painted all the suspension parts and cleaned the entire under side.
Cranked it up it started right away. No leaks and the clutch works. Had some timing issues brought on by me. I completely destroyed the Engine temp sender installing the engine and without it not much (timing-Hydra-idle-fans) worked correctly. By the way NAPA has the sender for $19 Mazda wants $48.
I followed the clutch adjustment procedure as outlined in your instructions. It took me an hour to adjust…alone. I made a dozen trips under the car. In fact I did everything alone except for lowering the engine into the engine bay. I trusted my wife to lower with me under the car. Trust is important. (Note smashed temp sender above)
The cross flow radiator and Spal fans and shroud are really something. The fans move so much air I am concerned they might blow the engine out of the car. The combination of the fans and the cross flow reduce all situational temps quite a bit.
It all works!!! Did my engine break in vacuum runs, oil and filter change and wheel alignment. Have a grand total of 250 miles on the engine so far… I discovered a coil bind problem on rough roads with the front suspension due to the extra weight of the MSM but with help from Keith we have a solution using the Vmaxx V8 front springs.
As usual the quality of all the FM parts is top notch. The FM built engine is so much smoother I am amazed. I did not expect such a radical difference in smoothness. It also spools up way faster in lower rpm range. Have yet to really put my foot in it and have boost set at a conservative 11psi for now. New Big clutch has a firm pedal but not that bad and the uptake is very smooth. Lightened flywheel needs a little getting used to in 1st gear. Really appreciate the FM quick response to the short Vmaxx rear spring issue. The Vmaxx are easy to adjust and install and they are really an improvement over the stock MSM spring/shock/sway bar combination. Car is rock solid and I have yet to seriously test cornering but it certainly feels more capable. My alignment tech was really impressed with all the adjustments and the quality of all the parts.
I bought one part from one of your competitors. A very nice aluminum front under panel because I hate the stock plastic thing. The part is excellent quality imported from Japan but when I sought some simple advice on fitting (Japanese instructions) I never received a return call or a response to my email. A little fabrication and problem solved. I mention this only as a comparison. I have ALWAYS had responses from Jeremy, Brandon and Keith no matter how inane my comment or question. Had FM made a similar part I would have bought it from FM in a heartbeat. (Maybe a good part for FM to consider)
I am extremely appreciative of all the help and patience I received from Brandon, Jeremy and Keith. I also appreciate Keith’s book. Please thank Tyler for the rebuild…. My thanks to all of you at FM, I had a very interesting winter.
I will drive the 1000 miles down to the annual FM summer camp a day early so Jeremy can do a Hydra tune.
Driving this car is actually kind of funny. It looks like a bone stock MX5 Mazdaspeed. But I can pull away from darn near any car on the road and the look on some driver’s faces is priceless. This is not your sisters Miata.
Next up: end links the big turbo and 750cc injectors. Please keep me away from the V8 version at Summer Camp.
Thanks again…and Regards
Tay V.

Amazing what the Butterfly does.
I just wanted to write back and let you and Bill know that the center section you sent out fit like a glove – the FM way. J The car handles like nothing I can remember going back 15 years to its first days. Amazing what the butterfly does. I can feel the suspension working, the ride is much smoother, and the shake rattle and roll is gone when going over uneven surfaces. Another fantastic product from FM!
Thank you for all your help. Please thank Bill for his time and awesome customer service.

I really do appreciate you guys
By the way, I took the car to the 'Ring in April, and the brakes worked like a champ. I didn't have my guru of the ring along, so I only did a 10:30 lap or so, but at least I made it back to the pits with all four fenders intact. At least two other cars I saw couldn't say the same. The brakes were consistent and stopped like hitting a tree when I needed them to. What I like about them is that they are progressive as they are powerful. They are not on/off like some cars, so you can use them everyday, and not constantly remember you've got racing brakes. When you need them, they pull your face off. I nearly made myself sick on the break-in runs. Oddly enough, when I got done lapping the 'Ring, the rotors were completely shiny and smooth, all the corrosion and pad stains wiped clean. I did 3 laps at 12.6 miles each, and everything worked as advertised. No brake fade, hot brakes, no slipped clutch, no turbo/engine issues at all. Literally, we drove it 1.5 hours to the track, lapped the car, and drove home. The only problem was that the gas tank is so small that we were on fumes by the time we got home. (getting gas is tricky here...I need Esso/Exxon stations to avoid paying German prices, and they aren't exactly littering the country with them)
Thanks in advance for the info. I really do appreciate you guys and all the help you've given me through the upgrade to FMII power. I can't imagine going back to a normal Miata, and pity those that don't have a turbo.
Thanks again.

NC FM Stage 1 suspension
I'm finally getting around to writing a review of FM's Stage 1 package. Instead of a new thread, I'll just add to this one.
First, I'll just say that the sales/ordering process was excellent and FM really sets the bar for customer service... Terri was very helpful on the phone and the product arrived quickly and well packaged. I really like the way that FM puts the small parts in a bag and labels it with a fluorescent tag. I might have lost them otherwise. As you might expect, Keith and Brandon were extremely helpful and attentive when it came to questions and advice... thanks guys.
Install was easy and there were no surprises. Spring compressors are not entirely necessary if you've got some help, but I used them and it made things easier. I will say that this is the point at which you realize that these springs are very different from stock. Per the advice from FM, I chose not to go with the adjustment cables and I'm happy I went that route. There is plenty of room to use the adjustment tool. Unless you plan to adjust the shocks on a regular basis, my recommendation would be to spend the time getting them dialed in to your preferences, then reinstall the plastic liners in the trunk... even if it takes a few weeks to get things set perfectly. I haven't decided if I'll drill holes in the factory FSTB to provide shock adjustment access. Probably not.
Ride height is precisely as FM states - 13.5" front, 13.75" rear. I think the stance is perfect. The rake is slight but noticeable and I assume a key part of the setup's geometry.
Now for the ride and handling... to put my observations in context, you should know that since early March I went from stock to H&R coilovers to FM. The stock setup lacks the handling most of us are looking for, but the ride quality is excellent. The H&R's provided good handling and a decent ride, but their designed ride height makes real usability an issue in this neck of the woods. Then there's the FM setup. Setting the shocks to 3 turns from full stiff in front and 4 in back, the ride quality is excellent and you would never guess that the spring rates are as high as they are. Really. I could drive around town and the highway all day on these things -- even on the roughest roads.
From a handling perspective, this setup is light years better than stock (shocking, I know) and honestly much, much better than the H&R's. Transitions are smooth, body roll is nonexistent (I have RX8 sways too), and the car is extremely composed around smooth and bumpy sweepers and hairpins. My alignment settings are: toe-in 1/32 on all four, -1.2 camber on all four, and +5.6 caster.

Thanks to Bill
Bill:
Thanks again for the personal attention to my issue that you focused many hours of your time and Adam’s today (like 7-8!!) and your relentless pursuit of the anomaly. I can’t imagine any other place like FM. I actually learned a lot from watching you and I can easily see how you inpire the men and women that work for you to excellence! The support your company provides is without peer in the Miata community (and there are some really good and devoted folk in our community).
I know this economy has taken its toll on your business and I wanted you to know that Bonnie and I are praying for your business’ success (we did so tonight) and we will continue to support you. I saw the disappointment in your face (indicative of the spirit behind FM) that the probable cause of my problem is associated/caused by an error in the assembly of the engine with the wrong spacer. Well, the way that I look at it is that at the end of the day this green Miata is a partnership between you and I, and I do beat the heck out of the thing on these tracks and street – with an ear-to-ear grin I tell you! (So please do what you think is fair and equitable – remembering that I understand & respect that you and your employees need to earn a living.)
Only in America could one pursue such a living as yours and mine. The freedoms and blessing we enjoy because of God’s grace have deeply enriched the lives in the Jolly family - through our association and patronage of FM over the years, and the relationships we have with you and your team!
Blessings,

My new V-Maxx coil-overs
I have had the new FM V-Maxx coil-overs on my ‘95 for awhile now and just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know I am extremely pleased with that setup (I bought the full NB upgrade version). The only other modification to the suspension was a previous addition of front and rear FM sway bars. After driving the car on the street for several weeks and at one HPDE the suspension has dropped about a quarter inch to 12.25” front and 12.75” rear with the following wheel alignment: Caster +4.5, Camber -2.0 front and –1.85 rear, zero Toe front and 1/32” Toe_In at the rear – the car was corner weighted to my weight in the drivers seat before the alignment and my weight was simulated in the drivers seat for the alignment. With the FM sways set full soft front and in the middle position rear the car has essentially neutral F/R handling balance with very good turn-in. I run 205/50/15 Nitto NT01 tires on 15x7 Enkei RP-F1 9.8-lb wheels for HPDE and with this setup the car is absolutely amazing on the track and not only has way more mechanical grip and stability compared to the tired OE suspension, but the car is now far easier to drive at or near the limit. That wonderful suspension simply transformed the car into a whole other animal. I was not expecting that great an improvement in track performance because FM states the V-Maxx is a street/track compromise suspension setup with emphasis on track handling, but I am totally loving it now that it is 4-5 seconds faster on the track ran recently, and the ride on the street is only slightly stiffer that prior to the new suspension. You folks are the best – thanks for the excellent product offering and outstanding sales and tech support. Now I have to save my pennies for the FM Butterfly Brace to stiffen up that old chassis a bit.

Awesome parts, awesome customer service
Just wanted to drop you guys a quick line and let you know how impressed I was with your FM vmaxx suspension kit that I just installed on a customers 04 MSM. Great quality kit with awesome instructions, and when I had questions about optimal alignment settings Brandon was right on the ball with an answer to every question I had. As a shop owner that has installed suspension kits from 5-600$ all the way up to 5-6000$ your FM vmaxx kit exceeded every expectation for a kit with such a low price, a truly great product made better by great customer service. Makes me a little sad I don't own a miata...YET

"I wanted to write and tell you how happy I am with the NC Supercharger Kit with Electronics Reflash you sent me for my 06 NC with auto transmission!
The extent of the kit, along with the step-by-step instructions allowed me to install this system with only a socket set, a ratchet-box end wrench set, screw driver and razor blade!
Your constant telephone support was more than I could have expected. And whatʼs even better was that you were patient when I was less than so. Thanks for making
this kit so easy; I love what Flyinʼ Miata has allowed me to do to my own ride in one dayʼs assembly!
The best part is, Iʼm getting 25 miles to the gallon in a sports car. Zoom freaking Zoom! You are all the greatest."

Great V8!
Hi Jeremy:
Many thanks for the information regarding the two V8 Miata conversion owners that you suggested. Mike D ( Florida) graciously allowed me to visit him today and was enthusiastic about demonstrating his car to me. I was blown away, totally impressed. For sure, the install is everything you say it is. Very professional, very "factory". Honestly, my wife who is an equally discriminating person as I am, said it looked like the V8 belonged there !!!! Mike D spent a great deal of time showing off his car to me. He is an asset to your organisation. He took me out for a ride while I bombarded him with questions, all the while I was trying to see if there was something that I didn't like. Remember, I had a 550 horsepower, aluminum block 427" in a Superformance Cobra as a basis for comparison.
First, the car was amazingly smooth throughout the applied power curve although I did detect some herky-jerky low end performance typical at slow speeds with possibly over-cammed engines. This may be an unfair criticism since I wasn't driving it. However, the car was far smoother than my original 550 HP Cobra. Full throttle acceleration was equally as impressive in the smoothness, an experience I never had with my Cobra. I will say that the acceleration was deceptive. The car reached 120 mph faster than I expected due to the smooth power.
Mike took the opportunity to take me on a little traveled, out of the way, dead straight road to "open it up". At an opportune time, with no-one visibly ahead of us, he applied full throttle. The car passed the 100mph mark very quickly and within seconds was at 120 mph when we saw a police car going in the opposite direction. Mike quickly applied the brakes and pulled over. I stated to the police officer that this incident was my fault. Thank God, the officer was reasonable. He stated that he clocked us at 108mph ( in a 50 mph zone) which was way after Mike applied the brakes. Anyway, I felt that the police officer was totally reasonable in that he realized that we did not try to evade him and at least gave the car full throttle in a road that was empty ( except for him !!!!) I offered to buy Mike a beer but he declined. I felt very guilty about the entire episode. The police officer's remark was "what do you have in this thing-that's an awfully big motor for such an "itty-bitty" car. End of story. Bottom line, the car is "awesome".
One thing. I did visually detect that the car was lower-looking than my wife's. Based on our visual evaluation of the car and the V8 install, she is possibly re-evaluating her decision to maybe use her car for the donor car for the V8. However, Mike's car looks lower to the ground. He said you lowered the car. I have to be frank with you, part of this desire of ours to have a V8 Miata is that it looks bone stock, including the ride height. My Cobra was unabashedly fast looking with no pretense to be other wise. Part of the mystique of this project is that the car looks stock. Question: Can you do this install without lowering the car ?
Anyway, the experience was very positive and gave me confidence in your level of expertise. My next step is to decide whether to use her car or find another donor.Interestingly, Mike did say that the 405 HP motor was not available although, correct me if I am wrong, you said it was. I think that after taking everything in balance, this motor may be a better choice for me. I am done with "balls-out" acceleration ( I'm 67 years old) . Four-hundred horsepower is enough for every-day driving.
I take off my hat to you. You should be proud of your conversion. Quite impressive !!!!!

My source will be Flyin' Miata, I suggest you all do the same
I am a Miata owner that on two separate occasions had serious problems with my NB that I could not find a competent mechanic to repair. I was familiar with Flyin Miata from the obvious quailty of its products on its website so I took a chance in calling for some advice. On both occasions I spoke with experts who knew all about the type of problem I had and what to do about it. They took their valuable time to educate me in the repair procedures, I followed their directions and solved both problems getting my car running and saving me a ton of money. I also recommend alldata.co for service manuals and info as a reference. As soon as I want to modify my car my source for the best parts will be Flyin Miata, I suggest you all do the same.

No compromises whatsoever
Hello Brandon,
The car is running beautifully. Did everything right straight out of the box and surprisingly there are no discernible compromises whatsoever. The first impression is that the car is now very refined and amazingly docile using light throttle applications. This car now feels more like a European car. It reminds me of the Audi in some ways. Congratulations. That Audi TT turbo no longer seems so enticing as my NC now feels more Audi than the Audi.
Temperatures are all perfectly normal and we noticed that we are always in a higher gear than we would have been without the Supercharger fitted. The car will now pull 6th gear in 60kph traffic at about 1500rpm. This is amazing. We took it up through our local mountains yesterday, 6th gear all the way at the speed limit and of course without effort. Even the slow hairpins were no obstacle for 6th gear. I don't advocate this as a driving style, but it was interesting that the car would do it. The car is very quiet and very smooth. We have noticed one other thing that may appeal to other NC owners, the car now holds a steady constant speed in traffic in contrast to the car in standard tune where it had been very difficult to keep at a constant speed in high gears in traffic. In the city I used to drive everywhere in 4th gear. So far it's the refinement of the package that has been the most surprising feature.
I have noticed a few times that a small amount of throttle input provides instant forward motion. There is no pinging with careful use of the throttle in tall gears and in 1st and 2nd gear the car feels as though it will be eager.
Cold starts are exactly as it was in standard trim, I can't find anything to complain about. This morning I took the car to our local Mazda Dealer, who we purchased the MX5 from, and the spare parts man was slightly amazed and then I upset him because he could not find the Mazda Part Number for the compressor kit. He agrees that you guys have produced a most impressive product. The quality of individual components and the quality of the fitting instructions needs to be commended and so far everyone in my circle of friends have been impressed with the appearance of the engine bay, even before they get a chance to experience the drive. This is no hot rod package, everything just fits perfectly. I keep saying I am amazed, but there seems to be no compromise associated with fitting this kit. This must surely be a very important element for the sales pitch where a prospective purchaser might other wise be feeling a little hesitant.
I absolutely love how it can carry speed through 70 to 80 mph corners and the flowing feeling of dispatching a series of bends with such confidence, it is the same car we had before but somehow it feels more reassuring. I am not concerned with absolute acceleration and top end as the car will spend more time on club runs where it already runs away from all but the hot turbo cars. Fuel consumption is better than I had anticipated but of course is directly proportional to throttle input. Why am I telling you all this. You must be in stitches having me tell you what you already know.
You should warn your customers that their wife or girlfriend could be a sleeping performance demon, be careful if you awaken their passion.
Regards

If you are wondering; what do I get for my $ on a FM-High Performance Intake Kit?
I have a 2004 MX5 Mazda Speed and this is what the kit does for my otherwise stock turbo:
· 2010 Camaro RS, 304hp; I left him behind
· 2010 Nissan 370 Z, 332hp; neck and neck
· 2009 Nissan 350 Z, 306hp; I pulled away
· 2010 Mustang GT, 315hp; an even match
· 2010 Audi S4, 333hp ; he tried to impress me by rabbitting off the stop light, but I stayed right with him. Then, it appeared he wanted to impress me with cornering on the curves and I left him behind. This is a car that is supposed to do 0-60 in 4.9 sec. A little bit better for the Miata than the stock 7 seconds wouldn’t you say?
The trick is that my Miata only does this when the temperature is 32ºF and colder. It is noticeably better than stock but slower at warmer temperatures. I was against a 2010 Mustang GT with some aftermarket work and about even, but the Miata was pulling up on him at the top end. The engine seems stronger the faster it goes when it is cold out. This is something that can not be replicated on the dyno stand. The weather is warming up and I am putting the Miata away till next winter. My mechanic is a Miata Specialist and he believes the FM products are first class!

Thanks for the quality parts FM!
I have about 1000 miles on the Happy meal now and it is very nice. I notice NO difference from the factory clutch other than a longer throw on the clutch pedal and lower catch point. It does rev a bit quicker and I can accelerate in higher gears a bit easier. I don't know why Mazda didn't build them this way to begin with. My transmission actually rattles LESS with this setup, although I did a proper alignment on the PPF during reassembly.
The pilot bearing was dead on the flywheel in the car, but not much wear on the clutch, so I suspect there was a clutch disk change only at some point.
Thanks for the quality parts FM! Its a shame to hide that beautiful flywheel in the bellhousing.

Beautifully made exhaust!
I have been a customer of Flyin Miata for years and have always been very happy with the service and the products. I recently bought a MSM and have been fixing a few things and getting the car the way that I wanted it in preparation for tuning later this month. It already had the complete FM intake and downpipe, so I ordered the FM MSM exhaust last week. My order confirmation listed the exhaust as backordered so I called to see when it would be available. Bill called the manufacturer and expedited a drop shipment to me so that I could stay on schedule and have the car ready for tuning next week when I have some time off from work.
The giant box was on my doorstep when I came home yesterday afternoon so I went to work immediately. What a beautifully made piece! The fit was perfect and I love the way that it sounds at idle, cruise, and at WOT. I feel more power and much greater smoothness across the power band. Mazda should have set up the car this way at the factory!
Thanks so very much for the great products and the excellent customer service. It is a pleasure to do business with your company.

More good service!
Staff of Flyin' Miata,
I just completed the installation of a Little Enchilada kit on my 2004 MSM. It was a fun project, made even more enjoyable by the support and instructions provided by Flyin' Miata. I wanted to send you a note of appreciation for the quality of your products, timeliness of your communications, and customer service of your organization. Any online purchase is subject to some errors as was the case with my order. A mis-sized gasket and incorrect BOV were very quickly handled and your actions turned a potentially negative situation into a text book case for problem recovery. Not only was the gasket handled without any hassle, but the BOV received the attention of the manufacturer. Thank you for treating my order with such attention. You have secured a customer for life.
Sincerely,
Steve
(note from FM. Our BOV manufacturer mis-boxed the BOV we shipped Steve, but sent him parts so he could use the "wrong", but more expensive valve in his car.)

The fit, finish and completeness of the Voodoo 2 is amazing.
Dear Bill,
Thank you for the excellent turbo kit. The fit, finish and completeness of the Voodoo 2 is amazing. Only the best here.
During the installation and tuning I called and emailed the staff at Flyin' Miata several times. They are all very knowledgeable and friendly. They were able to answer all my questions on the spot.
I knew there'd be a significant improvement in performance, but not this. Mazda's Miata platform + Flyin' Miata = What I always thought a sports car should be!
Keep up the good work,

Nice ride!
I just purchased a Stage 2 suspension package for my 2004. It was installed and aligned at a local shop. I'd asked them to set it up to FM specs, but they insisted that it was too aggressive for the street. They set it up close to the FM numbers (1.1 degree neg camber LR; 1.2 degree RR). I've only driven it on the road. Albuquerque, NM is woefully short of interesting curves, but the suspension handles changes in road surface, camber, etc beautifully. The shop set the front bar at the soft setting, the rear bar medium, and the shocks at 3. I've noticed that I can take the freeway off ramps at speeds I'd never imagined. Can't do that too much though! I hope to do some autocross this year - my first time - and I'll likely learn more about suspension.
My only complaint, a minor one, is that my newly lowered car is now susceptible to speed bumps. My mother has those six-inch-high, six-inch-wide bumps in her neighborhood. Even at three mph I bottomed out on every one. Otherwise everything works great!
P.S. The car looks great an inch or so lower than stock!
P.P.S. Hey Bill,
Sure, quote me. I am impressed with the products I've bought from you. The suspension has definitely made a good car more of a sports car: no more vague, twitchy responses on bumpy curves.

Frame rails are Epic!
These frame rails are epic. I LOVE them!!
Even my girlfriend noticed a difference, she described it as "the car feels like it's ONE". Definitely a must-have for ANY NA miata, IMO. I already have a hardtop and roll bar as well. The car rides much better and responds much better to every input.
Huge thumbs up to you Bill, thanks!!
Can't wait to complete the butterfly brace, i'm thinking the 1.8 will go in pretty soon.

Customer service
Bill,
Just a quick note to let you know that everything arrived in great shape and is now in the car. All of the components from the "clutch happy meal" fit and work perfectly! It's a great combination.
One thing I'd like to say thank you for is your communication and responsiveness. Customer service is something that seems to be forgotten with many companies, but is probably the most important service any business can offer. Keep up the good work.

Won my championship with it
The FMII kit is working great on my '95. Won my regional autocross championship with it this year.
It was the Oregon Region Porsche Club of America (ORPCA) Autocross series. I had about 40 competitors in my class. I'm usually in the top 5 (sometimes 1st) TTOD overall.

The best in the business
A Grommet is a little thing, but this goes a long way to keep me coming back. It's rare to have a thoughtful gesture from anybody these days without it being a veiled excuse to get more money from me. I realise there is a real business angle to keeping loyal clients. But to take the time to correct a possible problem detail and not ask for money is excellent customer service. I have about 15 employees and will use this as an example of doing that little bit extra that makes you the best in the business.

The smartest improvements I made to the car this year...
Another driving season is over. The car is in winter storage. It is quite chilly in Ottawa today.
The smartest improvements I made to the car this year were the sway bars and frame rails. Though new shocks, bushings and FM springs were also done these were my two favorites.
The frame rails are brilliant. I installed them myself following the instructions very carefully. The improvement in ride quality was immense. As some testimonials state, frame rails take years off a car's age. They are dead on in that remark. The car is now younger.
The sway bars, which I had installed when the FM springs, shocks and bushings were done, have proven to be excellent in the way the car now corners. For example at our Miata club driving school day my instructor was very impressed too. I was one of the last students to go through the pylons and he told me
it corned the flattest of all the cars he had been in that day. I have been adjusting the end link settings to find the best position for my driving. So I can now say that I have had the bars on and off several times though you don't
have to do that to adjust them. It's just too easy to do to check the bushings while you are doing the adjustments.
Thank the people at FM for me for their great service.
All the best to you and your family for the coming Holiday Season.

It rides great on the highway
FM,I loved the chasing Porsches video. That was from VIR where I am a corner worker for the track.I have owed a 1990 for one year and the first thing I did was put in a FM 2.5 suspension. It rides great on the highway. So much so my wife noticed the difference right away.
However on the VIR track I am slowly exploring the settings and it runs like I'm on a rail.I have more upgrades in mind and yall are my go to source.

Love my V8!
I always dreamed of having a miata with a V8 conversion but i told my wife not to worry because it won't happen. Well it did and boy am i happy.
I loved my fm 11 and it gave me many happy memories and then i decided to do the full monty.
I didn't crank him out until yesterday and the torque is amazing but not scary because the car is so well balanced. I did a u-turn and he turned on a dime-better than when he was stock! The suspension is not to be believed and i feel totally in control at all times. I want to thank tyler, jeremy, keith and of course bill for making my dream come true!

Service!
Ordered the kit and got it promptly. All the parts were there and made sense. Went by Keith's book and had few problems working off the floor. One long bolt came out with one finger, the other stretched the term "minimal". It's a 95 Merlot and maybe rust? This ain't bad for a
77 year old Miata nut! And then I got this follow up call from a sweet voiced lady checking to see if I was trapped under the car! You guys make Advanced Auto look like Neanderthals. Count on all my parts orders, third Miata, too old to race, Owen Johns

Happy with a Happy Meal
I just wanted to let you know I got my clutch and flywheel (10.3lb) installed. You weren't kidding, the clutch is very easy to work. I was surprised the pedal was as soft as it was. At first I thought it might be too soft, but after a few shifts I got used to the new feeling. I was just so used to a stiffer pedal it took some quick adjustment time to get used to it. No complaints on the flywheel either. It's easy as can be to work with. I guess there's just more people that aren't so good at shifting than I thought. The likelihood of me stalling the car is almost no different than stock from what I've experienced so far. I do notice the effects of the lightened flywheel a decent bit when driving uphill. I would like to thank you for your guidance in my purchase. I'm very pleased with the outcome.
---
I'm surprised it is not mentioned more frequently on miata.net. I mainly see the Spec, ACT, and Fidanza mentioned and then people making compromises on how much power it can hold and pedal effort. The FM seems to be the best value because it's got the easy pedal effort and holds a lot of power not to mention is aggressively priced. I guess everyone gets in the groove of using a lot of the same parts as everyone else.

Great service!
Just received another order from FM in a quick, timely manner, and thought I should sound off about how great the service is. I’ve had lots of help choosing the right equipment for my car, even when I’m asking fairly dumb questions. My orders have always arrived quickly, and I can’t say enough about having a live person call shortly afterwards to ensure everything was OK with my order. It’s one of the little touches that may not be vital, and that’s what sets FM apart from every other aftermarket supplier.
Also, kudos to Keith for Miata Performance Projects and Mazda MX-5 (haven’t gotten the 3rd book yet, but I’m sure it’s just as great). The books are great just to read, and have been invaluable during the maintenance projects I’ve done so far. Thank you to all the good people who make Flyin’ Miata such a good company!

Great Mazdaspeed parts!
Thanks Flyin Miata. I have a 2005 MazdaSpeed Miata. Most of my performance upgrades have been from you. My car now has the complete "Little Enchilada" kit. But I installed it a piece at a time, each added a bit more horsepower and drive-ability. My last addition was throttle body inlet kit with the Turbosmart BOV. What a difference it has made. I wished I had changed 40,000 miles ago. The engine has new life and comes on much stronger than any other change, except the MBV set at 10.5 lbs boost.
With FM throttle body I still see the same boost numbers as before, but it comes on quicker, and I can feel the torque improvement. My thoughts are the old BOV was leaking, But the rubber elbow was probably the bigger factor in reducing the horse power. The rubber elbow is known to blow up and I believe this increase in size of the pressurized air path just before the throttle body caused turbulence, disrupting the airflow into the throttle body. Whatever it was Your FM system works.
Thanks

You people are the only ones...
Just want to say thanks. You people are the only ones who explained the difference between the brakes on the different years of Miata's.
Everyone just ask sport suspension or not. I bought my wife a 2003 automatic with the 16 inch wheels. So no sport suspension. So wrong brake pads bought. After reading your web site I now know it has the large brakes. Thanks for the help. I wish I had found your site before I started.

It's all good!
Have to chime in here, I usually just sit and read the posts, but I have to say that this is the typical service that I have received from FM. I have bought FM 2 turbo kit, dual exhaust kit, 1.8 liter swap kit, extreme happy meal clutch kit, upgraded headlight kit, racing radiator, and still awaiting delivery of a frame rail-butterfly brace kit all from flying miata. Have had some issues and questions about several of the parts, but always got a quick and precise answer from them. Have returned items simply because they " didn't look right on my car"
Bottom line is that they have always given me the best possible service I could expect from any vendor. Keep up the good work.

V-Maxx report
Just wanted to give a little feedback on my newly installed VMaxx coilovers. I went with the NB set on new NB mounts on my 94.
Very impressive initial quality for the money. The order of assembly was still a bit confusing, despite the included instructions. Some better pics/diagrams might be in order, though I figured it out. Not sure if the plastic split washer should stay in the mix, so I left it on. I think that’s correct, though I couldn’t tell you it’s function… I realize the starting dimensions on where to begin with the perch heights will be different for every car, but it seems like those numbers were pretty far off. I used the NB numbers, and had to change them pretty drastically. I’d be willing to give you the numbers I ended up with if it will help at all.
My car is sitting at 12.25” Front, and 12.75” Rear. I did get some settling of the springs, so I had to adjust them a few times… I don’t think I’d recommend going much lower than that, as the bumpstops can come into play pretty severely on the street. I might actually go up another ¼” eventually. With the current heights, the ride is excellent for a coilover setup, and I think the rate choices are spot on, and give a good initial balance. I have my swaybars adjusted to full stiff now (had my 2000 that way as well) and the turn-in is really nice, with a slight tendency to oversteer. The car takes a set in a corner very quickly, so no waiting around for things to settle before you can really “drive” the corner. This setup is probably 65% track, 35% street in my opinion, so for most of the real enthusiasts who can tolerate a touch of harshness here and there, the VMaxx are perfect.
I gotta think this will continue to be a very popular suspension choice. I’ll be interested to know what you guys hear about shock longevity on these, if it ever becomes an issue.
Thanks for another great product!

Thoughts after living with an FM-built car.
I thought I'd give you an update on the "Mazdaspeed Alternative" you put together for me a couple of years ago. The last major problem was ignition mis-fire under high boost and that was recently licked with new spark plugs recommended by Jeremy. I can now turn up the boost as high as I dare (I briefly saw 27 psig when I adjusted the MBC too far to the right) with no missing or knock. Yeehaw!
With one minor exception (which I'll address below), the car is everything I'd hoped for. With the chassis stiffening (Butterfly Brace and Cannon rear brace), it feels as tight (if not tighter) than when I picked it up from the dealer over sixteen years ago. The AFCO suspension is, dare I say it, comfortable. Road imperfections, frost heaves and potholes (of which we have plenty around here) are absorbed with aplomb and I've only recently been able to stop tensing up when I'm about to drive over some bad pavement. When I need the performance, the car turns in with aplomb, takes a set and holds the line with no complaints whatsoever. This is truly a no-compromise suspension.
The engine? Well, the engine is a giant killer. Torquey at low revs, it starts coming on strong at 3,000 rpm and I see full boost before 4K, at which I'd better be sure about which way the front wheels are pointed. Unlike many cars that hint at great power reserves at throttle tip-in, this engine actually has plenty in reserve as the revs build. It's endlessly entertaining and a better writer than me could write an epic poem on its sterling qualities. The 3" exhaust was also a good addition. It lowered boost onset by several hundred rpm, exhibits no drone at highway speeds and has an absolutely delicious burble on engine overrun.
I'm also pleased with the Stage 2 clutch. While not quite oem-like, it's much easier on the calf muscles than any of the heavy-duty ACT clutches I've tried. The Quaife tranny shifts like a stocker and so far has stood up to all the abuse I've thrown at it (which is more than I can say for the stock Torsen). This brings me to my only complaint: Gear noise. I knew it was a factor, so I didn't go in with my eyes closed. The gear whine is actually quite entertaining in the lower gears (Keith said it was "supercharger-like" and that's spot-on), but at highway speeds the whine competes with and wins against both wind noise and tire roar. Dropping to fourth is actually quieter, despite running about 1,000 rpm higher. I'm not sure whether fifth gear is a weak point on the stock 5-speed (all anecdotal evidence points to one of the lower gears destructing first) and I'm sure the Quaife is not enough of a volume seller to warrant a running change. Given my druthers, though, I would prefer a less straight-cut fifth cog that won't prove so annoying on a road trip.
That's it for this report. Overall, I'm pleased as punch with my car. For a fraction of the cost of an off-the-shelf solution, I have a car with near-supercar performance that maintains the stealth look prefer (and keeps me in the Miata fraternity). Thanks again for all your help and support and feel free to quote me if you find any of the above useful.

Thanks for the great service!
Can’t thank you enough for your quick sales and service and very personal attention. Talking to a real person and having a follow-up call after the sale with a personal phone call was very cool. The used cruise control module came in two days, was the right item, and installed in 10 minutes. It worked perfect! I know who to call and will highly recommend you in the future.
Thanks!

BEST Miata company by far
Okay thank you so much for your help. I just wanted to say you guys have the BEST Miata company by far. SUPER fast shipping. Great products. And you KNOW what you're talking about.
Whenever I order from you guys, I am in Hawaii and it takes like 2 days. From ____ or other places I have to hassle them just to have something shipped out that i PAID for.

2.5 Suspension!
Folks,
First I want to say thanks for the tour when I was at your facility the end of May. I was great to meet all of the folks I've talked to on the phone the past four years.
Next, I can't believe the difference in the suspension after having your springs and shocks installed! I've had them on for a month and a half now. The old ones had the car ('97) looking good, but it rode rough. With all I've added over the years I now have your stage 2.5 suspension and it is great! Instead of getting a big thump - bang when going of some of the railroad tracks here, I now get a more normal bumpity-bump. I've starting saving up for one of your turbo kits. An old fart like me (60+) is probably going to get into a lot of trouble when I get that done ;-)

The Legendary Nurburgring
Hey All-
I took my FMII 10 AE to the legendary Nurburgring today. I'm happy to report that I had zero problems in 51 miles driven in anger. The turbo breathed like Darth Vader into my left ear, which blended nicely with the exhaust thundering in my right. More impressive than the turbo (although not having that kind of power would have made the trip much less fun) was the suspension. The Stage 2 FM suspension (4 years old) held the car absolutely flat and planted through some of the most insane corners I've ever seen. What makes them insane, I think, is the fact that there are no speed limits. They were nice and wide, so I often took them wide and cut hard in, and let the tires complain. Yet for all that, the only time the tail stepped out was when I wanted it to, with a turbo-pushed boot. It just gripped and gripped, all the way through two sets of hot laps. Back to the turbo, not once did it hiccup, surge, or do anything at all questionable, and it was HOT today. For Germany, 95 degrees might as well be Hell.
It did all that on one tank of gas, with the help of a little 2.5 gal can a friend brought, but since his Evo X's clutch crapped out, didn't need it. I drive 2 hrs to the track, 51 miles on the track, and 2 hrs home, there and back with the A/C blasting. Not one complaint from the car.
Thanks again for the careful engineering and thorough research on your products. They work, plain and simple. No drama installing the parts, no drama driving with the parts.
I see now why races are so long. The drivers don't want to stop. They're having too much fun.
Thanks again.

Great service!
I do really appreciate the time & effort you put into insuring I had the proper part and that it fit my application.
Additionally, I was amazed at the level of expertise, time & diligence you put in, especially for a very small dollar order. If your crew puts that kind of effort & support into a $16.00 order, I have ultimate confidence & comfort in placing a $2000 turbo or a $10,000 engine order. I know your people will stand behind it. Of course, your longevity proves it as well!
Over the years, I have nothing but pleasant experiences with your company
It just goes to show what great people make up the great company of Flying Miata.!
Although my budgets are limited, I will continue to send whatever business I can your way.
Again, thank you for diligence!
Regards,

When I finally decided to use the FM parts on my own Miata toy, I had a car that could turn the tables on anything I've driven
I want to tell you and anyone else that they should not have to go through the costly journey that I went through when they could instead just call on Flyin' Miata for their needs for speed.
Just so you know where I am coming from:
I have raced (competition) all sorts of cars from Pro-7 RX7s, USTC Honda's, Spec Miata, a 400whp Evo and others - as well as numerous other cars during HPDE lapping sessions from a stock ZO6, a few stock C6 Corvettes, built STI's, an Exige S, stock and built S2000's, an E36 M3 lightweight with suspension kit, a few E92 M3's (with and without paddle
shifters) and many others. I have been able to drive around car problems and make whatever I sit in work for me. In the end, when I finally decided to use the FM parts on my own Miata toy, I had a car that could turn the tables on anything I've ever driven.
My instructor toy is a 1992 Miata which used to run a pre Jackson Racing Roots Blower. I blew up 5 engines on track over 6 years and decided I wanted a race shop to build me a reliable car. In 2008, I went to ___, who was our ___ ___ "25 hour race sponsor" in 2007 and 2008. ___ built our Integra motor and I wanted to give him my business after watching him support us at the 2007 25 hours of Thunder Hill. I asked ___ to look to FM for parts to do the 1.8 engine and transmission swap. At that time ___ charged me for (BUT CHOSE NOT TO INCLUDE) the FM Quaife tranny, a FM manifold and turbo kit, Hydra and FM Fuel rail system and 3 inch downpipe. He did install the Carrillo H-Beam connecting rods, Wiseco pistons stronger springs for the head and some other parts. But mostly what I got were donor parts from a 1995 150,000 mile car including transmission, aftermarket fake GT 2860, stock fuel rail, Map ECU fuel only piggyback, 2.5" downpipe.
This little monster was horribly difficult to drive - but pretty fast in a straight line. The car was difficult if not impossible to throttle steer around corners. After ___ left ___ ___, I spent good money to remove the parts that failed or just did not work well.
A little incomplete summary of some of the problems:
The fake GT 2860 flange broke studs to the manifold several times.
After the manifold could no longer be re-tapped, I checked it out myself and found that the 2860GT flange was warped!!! This is probably what caused stress on the bolts. I believe ___ sourced this as an aftermarket copy of a GT 2860.
The on-and-off throttle was brutal, with lots of hesitation (about 1 second) before the ignition responded to throttle inputs. Lifting off the throttle was abrupt and locked up the rear wheels in turns. Any attempt to get back on the gas resulted in a 1+ second delay - which was perfect for losing control - and then would help complete a spin - if not ahead of the fun and games - or at least make for interesting and scary maneuvers. It was not safe in traffic. I tried to anticipate the ECU - but I ended up just staying in the throttle and left-foot-braking everywhere. This ate up my 11 inch rotors and pads. The 2:01 lap in this beast at ThunderHill was frightening at best. My wife was afraid whenever I took her for a drive on the street since it was so herky jerky and violent.
___ is now run by ___ ___.
I decided to get the right stuff. We ended up buying a FM manifold (a beautiful piece). I got a good deal on a GT2871 which looked genuine when inspected. We needed to add a second vent to the valve covers.
I asked for the FM dual feed fuel rail with Corvette regulator which was complete with all the parts including nice braded lines. They also sources 750cc/min injectors.
I got the FM Hydra Nemesis which came with some goodies including a knock sensor and wide band O2 that came connectorized!
___ fabbed a 3 inch ss downpipe.
I sprung for the FM Butterfly Brace and Frame Rails.
There are more FM parts - but I cannot think of them at the moment.
All of the FM components came with unexpected extras to ensure perfect installation. I say unexpected because there are things most people just don't know about Miatas. Jeremy and others, like Brandon and yourself offered advice and knowledge so there would be no reinvention of the wheel.
The result? First - I cajoled my wife to go for a ride in the new Flying Miata. Even though it was much, much more powerful, she giggled loudly for a long time when I got on and off the gas. She said, "It is so smooth and fast --it's unbelievable." My first track day was a lot of fun. Instead of a hard-to-drive 252 whp monstrosity; I had an easy-to-drive 338 whp car that just kicked butt on track. I could drive it like a well design normally aspirated car - except that the car now accelerated with such alacrity that it was a joy to drive. It is so much fun you just need to go for a ride to see what I mean - but I know you know what I mean :)
The only problem I had was due to water boiling - but I know this is because ___ ___ delivered my car with a slightly crushed radiator gooseneck - which I assumed I had repaired. I am now having a billet aluminum gooseneck welded onto my Koyo and will use a 25# cap. I am sure this will solve the problem. I also use water injection and a 2 gallon reservoir to spray my intercooler, oil cooler and radiator with pair of misters once under boost.
I've also just ordered the ATI damper because the stock 150,000 mile crank pulley just sheered its bolts --luckily right in front of my house! I imagine this upgrade will work wonderfully as well.
Thank you for being a top notch beacon in a world of sometimes less than scrupulous people.

1999-00 RB Header, FM Midpipe & Muffler
Pass the word. The entire exhaust system that I ordered from y'all (I have relatives in the South) fit perfectly. Getting your system installed was NO problem (but getting the old one out was). But all went well, just took me more than ten minutes. I'll be back.
By the way, I very much appreciate the follow-up call from one of the women on your staff.

This setup is as balanced as I could have asked for.
Background: In May 2009 I purchased my 1994 M Edition with 55,000 miles and had immediate plans to change out the current suspension (KYB AGX, FCM 54mm bumpstops, stock springs, and stock sway bars) and modifying it futher. Luckily the little voice in the back of my head kept refusing to allow my finger to click the purchase button on any bits before I was completely sure that was what I wanted.
I decided to do some research and so I began reading this forum and asking the members of the local Miata club what they were using. All I can say is that if you are contemplating any suspension upgrade it is of HUGE help to read this forum and ask around. Both are great ways to educate yourself on a massive amount of knowledge and advice that others already have spend the time to learn themselves.
Goal: My personal goal was to have a fun, composed daily driver which wouldn't be too harsh and loosen all the bolts - yet have the ability in the future to take it to an autocross with some competitiveness at around $1,000. The issue I was having was that the AGX's I was riding on were feeling a bit too mushy and vague. The car also had too much body roll on cornering and just led to some unpredictability and white knuckling at times. Now there are many ways to get there with different configurations and brands. Just sway bars? Stiffer springs? New shocks? Or try to go for all three?
Decision: After consulting many local club members (This was huge and getting to take test drives can really help steer you right) and collecting wisdom from the forum I decided that the Flyin' Miata stage 2.5 was the choice. What sold me was that I had seen and heard nothing but praise about the products FM sells, not to mention the proven test of time of this combination. It seemed perfect - a combination that would lower, stiffen, and provide a more poised ride for the car without giving a bone jarring ride.
Installation: The worst part of this was the weather. Forecast said PM showers yet it decided to rain hard. A Miata on jackstands in the pouring rain meant this job was extended from 4 hours to 6. The long bolt method was used and due to the low mileage - dare I say almost too easy to remove bolts? Actually the worst and most annoying part was removing the front undertray and navigating the front sway bar around the AC lines. Compressing the rear FM springs so that the FM upper mounts could be assembled proved to be a minor hiccup but had just enough compression to attach a nut for assembly. Other than that, things went smooth right into the relatively easy installation of the upgraded sway bars (boy these things really are solid and heavy!). The FM upper rear mounts are also almost too pretty to put under the car (notice I said almost).
Test Drive: The rain subsided at this point in the afternoon so I was off and away for a top down test drive. WOW! Not much more else to say other than that. Even though it was not fully alligned yet and hadn't "settled" the feel was hugely noticeable. This car puts a grin on my face each time I drive it, but I don't think it has ever been so big as it was from this drive. I did not measure the height of my car befoe but I noticed visually a drop of about an inch or so. Off to go pick up pizza for the crew and I found two downsides - 1) that I couldn't drive it aggressively back unless we wanted a lopsided pizza, and 2) with my front R lip I have to be more careful when approaching slopes I otherwise would not scrape on. The last one is one I will have to keep an eye out for and report if it continues to be an issue.
Alignment: Took it in for a precision "Lanny" alignment and was able to get it to match up perfectly. This made a huge improvement in feel and tracking in driving the car. The best part about the alignment was knowing that my driving experience would be much better now that the car would be neutral.
Result: Actually that emoticon doesn't do it justice, it is more like double that or more. Immediately upon taking the first corner I knew that this was an amazingly balanced setup. The complete amount of steering control gained from these upgrades and the lack of body roll was imminent and I just knew that I had to take the long way home.
In fact the long way home was a trip of 183 miles (!) that led to places which I would have never explored before. Yet corner after corner of ear-to-ear grin inducing driving I kept driving and soon enough I had almost run out of gas and was lost. This meant I had to pull my GPS out of my trunk to find out where I was and find a gas station - the first time I have ever truely been lost. Never have I been so focused on finding a new twisty and apex to hit that I lost track of where I was.
This car handles like it's on rails - literally! Almost every corner I took I would have my floor planted on the throttle and I would forget I was driving a car and not a go kart. Now before the Miata felt fast to me in corners when going on spirited club drives albeit a bit uneasy at times, but this feels as composed as can be. No amount of understeer as felt beforehand, but only a hint of oversteer - just the right amount to beg you to push it harder in the next corner.
Corner after corner this continued and I could not believe that you could have this much fun per dollar. The car repeatedly performed every task thrown at it and exceeded each one with a great amount of poise and composure each and every time.
The ride was really improved and I couldn't be happier with the increase in driver feel and response. With the stiffer springs and Illuminas on 3 front /2 rear and I noticed no increase in the amount of rough patches rattling either the car or me. I can only imagine how hooked up this car really would be with some sticky summer tires as opposed to the Falken Ziex currently riding on it. Previously I had lost grip on my tires but this setup definitely helps me think it was not just the tires but the lack of having a balanced setup. Even with the Ziex's this car just hooks up in tight corners and has the perfect amount of grip throughout the entrance and exit. This is the closest to a rollercoaster I have experienced, only better because I am not hanging on for the ride and instead I have full control of where I want to go. This car is as easy to drive aggressively as it is for someone using a point and shoot camera for the first time, simply aim the nose for where you want to go and it just does it - no squirming, squealing, or white knuckling.
I feel spoiled that I get to drive this day in and day out. Today alone, I went out for 3 separate drives just to ensure that I wasn't dreaming and had to pinch myself to make sure that it was for real. I put on 245 miles and don't know where they all went.
Final Comments: This setup is as balanced as I could have asked for. I wish I could explain how each part works in essence with one another, but I cannot. Instead of replacing one component at a time I can just explain the transformation of the ride. If you are on the fence about this setup, I urge you to give it a try and find someones car with it. I now fully understand why they have been selling this setup for years and why it's so highly regarded and recommended. I am very glad I made this choice for my suspension and am glad that I can give another thumbs up in support of this product and setup. I think I'm getting another urge to go out and drive again which means it'll continue to get dirtier because there are roads to be driven.

Still love the FMII
P.S. I took the FM II on its base map on a 400 mile road trip. Not a single problem. It ran at 120 mph for as long as the Autobahn allowed (sporadically), and took to the windy mountain B roads outside Cochem, Germany like a duck to water. It ran on mixed roads (highway, back road) and made 251 miles on a tank of gas. The JR Supercharged Miata did the same distance, but was sucking puddles off the bottom of the tank, whereas I still had a little left.

Thanks for checking!
You guys came through again like usual, which is why I order from you. I had priced out my parts very carefully on your site after I saw what you all carried for my timing belt job. When I actually came to order I rushed it and didn't pick the right year. That was caught and all the parts were edited to my correct year.

Man, I can see why you guys are the number one when it comes to Miata work. The information you gave me and the speed you got back to me... holy crap im going to straight to you guys every time.

Flyin Miata 2.5 suspension kit review
In December, I stumbled across and purchased a 1996 M-edition that was in decent shape for a reasonable price. The shocks were dead, but aren’t they always on a used Miata? I drove it through the winter, all the while researching how to upgrade the suspension. Just shocks? New springs? Sways? A package of some sort? As most of you know, there are a ton of different options out there.
The car also needed to be that greatest of all Miata.net conundrums: a daily driven street car that the wife will enjoy, and an occasional but still competent track car.
My experiences with suspension mods are limited. My lowered ’99 Sport is running Bilstein’s PSS coilover setup and a previous NA ran stock springs and sways with Koni sports. Both are/were good but the Bilstein PSS setup was by far my favorite. It’s firm, controlled ride made it much sportier and raised the handling a notch or two. Yes, it was a little more harsh over bad road, but the tradeoff in performance was worth it. The Koni shocks were decent, but I didn’t like that I couldn’t set the compression myself and the vagueries of the adjustment process left me doubtful that I had all the shocks set the same, especially as they aged.
I had become kind of partial to Flyin Miata’s 2.5 suspension kit due to the praise it always seemed to generate and because over the years I’ve come to trust that FM knows what they’re doing. I PM-ed a few posters who are running the Tokico Illuminas and read all the reviews about each part. It seemed to be a good performance setup that won’t beat you up, so I took a chance and ordered it.
Installation was fairly straightforward. I used the long-bolt method, which was WONDERFULLY easy. I only ran into trouble twice. The first issue was how tight the coils on the rear springs were. They were difficult to get spring compressors on and especially off. In the end I stopped caring if they got scratched or not and just got rough with them and then everything got easier. The second was that I installed the new longer front sway bar bolts with the extra length pointing towards the new Tokico shocks. With only 1-2mm space between them, I worried that they might make contact and a shock would get punctured, so I removed the bolts and installed them from the other direction.
After everything was bolted in, torqued down, and double-checked, I took her for a drive. Even needing an alignment and balancing really badly, I could tell that big changes had been made. Big positive changes.
The car’s stance it all business now too. It sits low, but not nearly as low as my ’95 with Koni’s on the lowest perch. After a long week of driving it, I have yet to scrape anything anywhere and I’ve done steep driveway aprons and speedbumps of varying heights.
I discovered that the Chevy dealer near my house has some of the best alignment and balancing equipment in town, so I – figuring that since they work on Corvettes so they MUST know what they’re doing – made a mid-week appointment to have her aligned to Icehawk’s specs and road-force balanced. They got the specs perfectly and said she balanced very nicely too, with no need to move the tires around on the rims. My 65mph shimmy is *completely* gone.
The first thing I noticed the first time I threw it into a corner was how buttery smooth it felt. It quietly glided through the corner in a way that I’ve never experienced before. My ’99 feels quick through corners, but it feels like it’s fighting something as it does. I pushed a little harder. The car did as asked once again. It’s as balanced as a ballerina, displaying just a *hint* of oversteer coming out of a sharp corner. Not even enough to get excited about, just “hey! Oh, there..” as it gripped again and continued on. The car is much flatter than before through corners, but not excessively so. Transitional responses are quick and controlled. On Illumina setting #2, there’s still a little brake dive and acceleration squat but the side-to-side motions are quelled. Despite the higher spring rates it’s running, bumps and broken pavement don’t upset it as much as my PSS-equipped 1999. I’m eager to get on track and really push it to see how well she responds.
I quickly learned that my tires are woefully inferior to this suspension. It feels like the bigger sways transmit more responsibility for cornering to the tires and unfortunately mine aren’t up to the task. They scream like a spoiled toddler way before the suspension yields anything. Of course, they’re old, hard Yoko Avid something-or-others, not serious summer rubber. I plan to scrub them off at the next track day and then replace them with something much, much grippier.
As an everyday driver, it seems perfectly acceptable too. Since my wife plans to drive it as a DD during the summer months, I was worried that it might be too harsh but reasoned that I could always replace the offending part with the stock one and make it better. However, seeing her smile after driving it and after a lot of passenger seat time the last few weekends, I shouldn’t have worried. She loves it. Broken and patched pavement still come through loud and clear, but they do in a stock Miata too. I think it’s just due to the inherent flexibility of a convertible that bad pavement resonates through the structure. (Maybe FM frame rails would help?)
Is the ride worse with stiffer springs? I don’t think so. It’s certainly better than when I was driving on dead shocks. My butt-meter tells me that it’s no worse than the Koni’s and stock springs on my old ‘95 or the PSS Bilsteins with 275 lb springs on my ’99. Certainly for the performance gain, it’s a more-than-acceptable compromise. And interestingly enough, the faster you drive it the less you feel any irregular road surface. It will take a twisty, bumpy, lousy back road and turn it into a roller coaster that will have you grinning from ear-to-ear. Which is to say, it works as advertised. I’ve been driving it every day for the last week now and I’m just amazed at how much more fun it is. My wife keeps trying to get me back into my ’99, but I want to keep driving *this*.
I was hoping to tell people how well each part does it’s job, but…you can’t tell. I think part of the black art of suspension design is surely how well each part “plays” with the others, and my impression is that Flyin Miata has put together a great setup. Now, I'm no suspension expert but unless I’m sorely mistaken, in a good suspension every part complements the others because, to a degree, every component does a little bit of every other part’s job and if it’s good, you can’t tell what’s doing which. So it is here. The system works together as a whole and the results – so far – have been marvelous. I’m EXTREMELY pleased with the kit as a whole and I'm VERY pleased with my purchase and my car's newfound competency. My sincere thanks to Flyin Miata for this great kit and to everyone who reviewed it; your reviews do not lie.

V8 Conversion
Hi Bill
Just wanted to send you a note to tell you that I received my midnight blue 2002 V8 Miata. It is absolutely awesome. The fit and finish of the car is beautiful. Opening up the hood is like opening a jewelry box. And that’s not to mention the horsepower and the torque. I think a previous V8 Customer Robert Laborde Had it right “Who needs a therapist when you own a V8 Miata”. I am looking forward to many years of enjoyment. I also want to say that it has been a very enjoyable experience working with Jeremy and Keith and the whole Flyin Miata Team. There is a remote possibility I will be able to attend the open house sans the car if I can schedule some meetings with customers in the Colorado Area early in the week Would love to meet you. Thanks again and continued success.
Sincerely
Mike Dougherty

I can definitely feel a difference.
Yesterday I installed a set of your frame rail braces on my '92. Wow, I can definitely feel the difference. I noticed it immediately when I backed out of the driveway.

Otherwise... Yow. I understand logically that there are plenty of fast and much faster cars out there, but this finally feels like a "fast car".

400 hp and 38 mpg!
(this is a report from Ross' drive home after having FM build up his car with a big turbo and a stroker. You can have your cake and eat it too!)
I got to Lamar, CO before I called it quits. I filled up before I left Palisade. I wanted to burn most of the tank before I checked the mileage so I headed off down US 287 after dark with about half a tank. Big mistake. I finally found a pump open after 378 miles and filled up. Even with topping off I could only get 10 gallons in the tank for almost 38 miles per gallon. I was driving the speed limit plus five for most of the way, maximum of about 80. I had never gone more than 340 miles on a tank of gas before and had gotten a maximum of 30 miles per gallon. Your observation that I might see better gas mileage was prophetic.

FM Catalytic Converter
Just wanted to let you know that the catalytic converter arrived as promised, in packaging that would likely protect it from a small nuclear blast and installed perfectly. So much so, that my 15 year old daughter did most of the install! Which is no mean feat as she is really an animal person not a car person.
Thanks again and you can count on hearing from (and selling to) me again!

I’m hoping I never need the new part, but it does say volumes about FM’s commitment to service.
I know Flyin’ Miata is well known for their customer service, but my recent experience needs to be shared. Earlier this spring I was entered in an Enduro, which around here is 5 laps around a track, best sum time wins. During practice, under full boost, I lost a cylinder. I had to have the car towed home. After some investigation, it turned out the problem was the plug in adapter clip for the 550cc injectors. One clip had cracked and slipped loose. I had another race that weekend, so I got the replacement part sent next day air from Grand Junction.
Later I got a phone call from Flyin’ Miata, following up on my order and checking on their customer service. I mentioned that the clip was fairly new, but there was no way I could say if it was defective or had been cracked during installation. I just wanted to mention it. I believe I mentioned this twice, once over the phone and once in an email--I was not saying I got a defective part, just that it ‘might’ have been defective. The next day I got a shipping notice via email and a new part arrived in the mail a few days later. I’m hoping I never need the new part, but it does say volumes about FM’s commitment to service.

What first sold me was watching the videos of Keith at the Targa Newfoundland rally.
I meant to write when I first purchased my AFCO Suspension, but I was installing the FM adjustable sway bars at the same time, so there was a lot going on. What first sold me was watching the videos of Keith at the Targa Newfoundland rally. Those were some real roads, pot holes and frost heaves included. But the shocks could also be set up for track or autocross. After a quick conversation with Keith to settle some questions I had about other set ups in the same price range, I had my Visa card out. That was over a year ago and I couldn’t be happier.
If you like tweaking your suspension setup, AFCO’s are great coilovers. I can change all 4 settings in fewer than 2 minutes, which means I can fine tune between autocross runs, in the grid. If you aren’t into tweaks, set ‘em and forget ‘em.
The combination of Flyin’ Miata adjustable sway bars and fully adjustable AFCO’s is perfect for me. Change tires? I might need to change the sway bar settings to optimize the new found traction. Rain? Disconnect the rear sway bars so I can get on the gas a little earlier. From there, changing the shock settings just fine tunes everything. I’ve even changed the damping rates if an autocross has more or less slaloms than usual.
One of the nicest but unexpected things about the AFCO’s, though, is I can tighten everything up for competition, and then soften them up for a cushy, Cadillac like ride home. I just soften the damping, so I don’t even have to get on the ground. After a long, hot day, this feature is appreciated more than I can say. My wife races and drives the car too. She appreciates the race set up to a degree, but I know she doesn’t like driving around town with the suspension set up tight, and with the AFCO’s, she doesn’t have to.
And I love the squish, squish, squish sound the AFCO’s make when I pull out of my drive way—it just reminds me of what a great set up I have hidden neatly behind the wheels.

Out of the box the car is Biblically fast...
I just finished installing an FM II kit on my car. I did it with a friend of mine at an auto hobby shop, and it took 21 hours of continuous work (over 2 days). My friend and I are both exhausted, but the turbo's in and purrs like a kitten.
While this project is not for the faint of heart, we did it with basic hand tools, a lift (for ease of maintenance), and lots of elbow grease. At times I wish the instructions went more into the 'how to' in some places, but I was able to figure everything out with minimal aggravation. Honestly, the issues we ran into were more related to the tiny spaces involved with all the plumbing than any actual technical issues.
All negatives aside, two very inexperienced mechanics (we're computer technicians) were able to pack the entire kit with tools into my Miata, lift it off the ground, and drive it back out with the kit installed and running. This is a testament to the engineering, technical brilliance, quality built and packing of the kit. We calibrated the O2 sensors, and watched over the computer readouts, but changed nothing. Out of the box the car is Biblically fast, puts out an advertised 12 PSI and then some, and spanks my friend's Jackson Racing-powered Miata.
We took the cars back to my house via an Unlimited stretch of Autobahn (Germany is awesome), and ran from 30 to 130 mph in less than a mile. By 3rd gear, the super-charged Miata was 3 bus lengths behind and losing me.
I'm going to get arrested when I come home to the states with this thing.
I look forward to driving the Nurburgring this summer, but I also look forward to the morning commute to work, with 3 miles of unlimited speed limits for me to play on.
Well done on a great product. It's worth every penny for the boost-induced grins.

It only reaffirms that FM is the right choice.
Brandon - I REALLY appreciate all the time you've taken with me on this, and all the great communication. It only reaffirms that FM is the right choice.
I've had your dual exhaust in the past and have owned 2 sets of the 'old' springs and just bought a very lightly used set of the 'new' version. None of this has been purchased new by me from FM but you folks have always treated me as a customer. It's because of this commitment to your product and the enthusiast community that I actually have wanted to spend some money with you directly for a while. Since this will be a relatively big purchase, I prefer to buy it new so that I get the full warranty and feel less guilty if I have to ask for help or service! :-) Can't wait to get rolling on this...then I can start scheming on how to pay for AFCOs..........

It's great fun to fall in love with your car again, and again, and again.
Well, you have yet another happy customer. I had your msm downpipe installed Friday afternoon. As soon as I started the car, I knew I was going to like it. My sweet, quiet little Miata suddenly had a nice growl. Not loud at all, just a tad deeper ... and meaner. Of course I wasn’t looking for better sound as much as I was looking for better performance. And I got it. Overall, the car is simply more driveable. Torque is improved across the board. Not by leaps and bounds, but very noticeable. I’m finding I don’t have to downshift on hills so much. A little extra throttle is all I need. Spoolup is happening faster (maybe 200-500 rpm) and more smoothly. And at full boost, she’s most definitely faster. I’ve had a big grin on my face pretty much since the install. And now I can’t wait to do the intake, then midpipe/exhaust. Thanks for making such a great product. It’s great fun to fall in love with your car again, and again, and again.

Great Shipping!
"I am well aware of all the shipping options and differences between services for US-Canada packages, but it would seem that Flyin' Miata should be commended for providing all the relevant info in a very complete and straightforward manner to customers.
I have never seen such a complete and accurate summary as that provided in your eMail from any reseller, whether on the website itself or in any communication, ever."

Little Enchilada!
I just finished installing the Little Enchilada onto my father's Mazdaspeed. I must say that for the most part the process was extremely easy. The intake and exhaust were exceptionally built and very simple to install. The intercooler upgrade was probably the hardest part of the whole job. Of course, it happened to be 1:00 in the morning (day of the driving school event we were going to) when I was installing it. That may have made things a little harder than they otherwise would have been.
I should tell you that my father is not much of a car guy. He bought a Miata because he wanted a fun little convertible. He really only bought the Mazdaspeed be because he liked the lava orange color! I am a bit of a miata fanatic. I have a 1990 that I just finished installing your clutch and exhaust into (also very nice). So when I drove his car, I was a bit underwhelmed. I had never driven a Mazdaspeed before, but it was not that fast and did not feel or sound like a turbo car. I started begging him to buy your upgrade kit, and finally he acquiesced when I told him I thought it might improve his gas mileage a little bit (what? It might, if he keeps his right foot under control!) .
At 1:30 in the morning, when I finished the install, we took it out to set the boost and give the car a shakedown. Dad was very freaked out by all the fun new sounds the car was making. "What is that whistling? It never did that before! Is that normal?"... "Yes, dad, that is the sound of your turbo. I know you did not hear it before because your car was being strangled to death by the stock intake. But trust me, that is a good sound!". Then he lifts, and the blowoff valve blows... "What was that? Is it supposed to chuckle like that?"... "Yes dad, that is your new blow off valve, that happened because you were building a little bit of boost. It is supposed to sound like that"... "What do you mean I was building boost, I was only at like 2500 rpm. The car never made boost that early before!"... "Dad, I told you, the new setup is more powerful and will spool up a lot more quickly. Trust me, you need to drive around a bit and just enjoy this. Everything is fine".
So we went to bed, and he took it to the driver school the next day. At the end of the day, he was so thrilled with the new setup he could not stop talking about it. He loved driving the car. He was very impressed with how much more linear the throttle felt, and how much more responsive the engine was to his inputs. He is currently on a 9 hour drive back from Ohio to Connecticut (he drove out so I could install the kit) and we will see what his gas mileage is like... hehe. However, his parting words to me were this. "We'll see if it gets better gas mileage on the highway, but I don't think I will be able to behave myself driving around town any more. The car is just too much fun to drive now."
The improvements in the car was so profound that I think he actually understands how a powerful car is supposed to feel now, before I think he just kind of putted around with it. I will start working on convincing him that he really needs a V8 now. He did test drive a Corvette before settling on a Miata, so who knows! Not sure if I can tell him with a strait face that a V8 will improve his gas mileage though...
Justin Gray
PS from a follow up email: "By the way, on the drive out he got 31 mpg on the drive home he got almost 37 mpg."

AFCO customer service
I wanted to inform you of my latest dealings with AFCO. I'd found one of my dampers had leaked some shock oil after a few thousand miles and several months of usage. AFCO repaired it for free, saying that while these parts (like all racing parts) come with no warranty, if they get one back that doesn't appear to have failed due to abuse, they make an exception and repair it with no charge. Also, they quoted me a great price for a rebuilt/revalve if I ever need it. So, thanks for selecting a reputable, domestic manufacturer for your dampers. It's always refreshing to find good companies that take care of their customers.

Flatter = Faster
Had a great weekend. The [FM] springs and sway bars worked awesome. Much more solid and controllable. Turn ten at Infineon last year at about 75. Sunday third session (out of traffic) at about 92 of 93. With 8 to 10 feet of run out to spare. Yippee.

Happy customer!
I just found the time to change out all my springs and sway bars to the Flyin' Miata track day package. Kudos to all the folks at Flyin' Miata. Excellent R+D.
The car rides better, has less lean in the corners, handles like a slot car.
I will be working Tech at Infineon March 20/21 and will also be running HPDE.
You can count on my blabbing about you guys and you expertise.
Thanks again

Mazdaspeed exhaust & downpipe
The Mazdaspeed exhaust arrived today. Once again I am impressed with overall quality of your products and kick butt packaging. No way for UPS to damage this baby! I seems like I just talked to you yesterday and here it is! Tell Tami thanks for helping me with my special credit card issues while fighting with your new billing system and James for getting it packed up and shipped out on a Friday. Your folks always make me feel like a valued customer.
Back to the quality. Am I really supposed to put this work of art under my car? Mark Brandt is helping me with the install next week, but in the mean time I will leave it on the living room floor in front of the 50 inch plasma flat screen for all to admire. Thanks again and if this thing performs as good as it looks I am in for many miles of smiles.

My hat's off to you guys.
I have done business with you since I purchased my '97 new from the dealer. In every instance I have been more than pleased with the quality of the product and the exceptional service you provide. From your sound advice to the callbacks after an order delivery, your staff has been first rate in every respect. I recently arranged for you to rebuild my motor, and Jeremy has walked me through the entire process and has been extremely helpful with all of the details. Just the other day he called to let me know the status of the project without me asking. This is the kind of thoughtful, customer-oriented service that very few businesses carry on today. My hat's off to you guys and I look forward to doing business with you in the future. I don't hesitate to recommend you to everyone I meet.

The right combination of sportiness and drop
First, let me say that your products are fantastic. Your FM springs are the right combination of sportiness and drop on real-world roads. Also, your FM rear mounts are what the early Miatas need in the way of rear travel.

A happy V8 customer
Thanks Bill – your team has done an outstanding job on the car. The communication with Jeremy and Keith on design and issues has been great!
The build pictures posted to the web are tremendous! I don’t know how many times a day I’d check to see if any new ones had been posted.
I mentioned before to Jeremy that Jon is the Chip Foose of Miata Overhaulin - the quality of his work is top shelf! Nothing but great comments from family
and friends following along on your website (once they got over the initial shock… "you're doing what to your car?!"). I only wish I’d booked this earlier so I could’ve avoided the Winter weather.

Moving on, regretfully
It has been a great experience working with you guys over the years. I learned a lot about Miatas and forced induction. However, the time has come to move on to a bigger set of wheels and 4 doors for comfort and additional passenger room as Melanie and I plan for retirement and a lot of travel. So, with tongue in cheek, I have "upgraded" to a Cadillac CTS-V. I can play in style.
MYTMOUS has been sold thanks to advertising on your web site. A gentleman from Windsor, Ontario bought her and picks her up on Jan 1st. It's hard to let go but I have no regrets for all the fun and new friends made possible through owning and building this car. Thanks for being my guide and fulfilling a dream. Please give my very best regards to Teri, Jeremy and Tami. You have a wonderful staff.

It's kind of fun to have to watch the right foot.
We'll, I now have a turbocharged Miata thanks to you all. I had to write and tell everyone at Flyin' Miata how great it is to have folks like you to make projects like mine possible.
I had no turbo charger experience and really had no idea how a complete system works when I started the install. Being able to downloaded the instructions a week before the system arrived was a great help. I felt somewhat familiar with the process when I began the install, but I soon had questions, to which the answers were only a friendly phone call away. Every instance I might add was for something I had overlooked or passed over in the instructions book. After a "Dooooh", I made it past each hurdle.
The system is running flawlessly and the Voodoo tuning was much easier than I expected. Now if this darn rain would stop! It's kind of fun to have to watch the right foot so I don't break the back tires loose in the rain. I would imagine this grin will last for a good while.

NC exhaust system
I just installed my Flyin Miata stainless exhaust on my 2006 NC. I needed to borrow a larger impact from my neighbor and struggled with the rubber hangers on the old muffler, but after that the rest of install went very smoothly. The sound was exactly what I wanted. A small rumble at idle, good sound when you put the throttle down and minimal noise while cruising. The sound is not ricey like a honda, its more deep and throaty like a v6. I noticed a little more torque off idle and more power through the midrange.
Thanks Flyin Miata, you have made an excellent product.

FM butterfly brace
Unfortunately I don't have enough garage space to do the install myself, so I had my mechanic do it. He maintains a Panoz and a track only late model Firebird for a couple of customers and enjoys racing RX7's, so I trust him with my little go-cart Miata.
He said it was difficult to get the kit to clear the Magnaflow Catback exhaust, but still managed to get it all installed in 4.5 hours.
Having driven a 850rwhp 1990 Toyota Supra with both a 6 point and 10 point drag racing cage, I had an idea of what "stiff" meant and this kit certainly is not stiff. It's better - it's solid. The car feels like a a new car should feel. Mysterious squeaks and rattles have been silenced and the car feels much more confident. Temperatures are still near freezing here, and there are snow tires on the car right now so I've not yet had the pleasure of driving spiritedly, but I'm certainly looking forward to a drive through BC's twisty mountain roads this spring!
Thanks for the follow up and excellent product.

Frame rails
Thanks! I installed the parts yesterday evening and took the car for a shakedown run afterwards. The difference is amazing! I may go ahead and order the butterfly center section to upgrade the frame rail braces, although I can't imagine how much better things can be. Even on new Azenis in 20 degree temps, cornering speeds are greatly enhanced. I can't wait til it gets warm again to see what this thing will really do.

FM suspension magic
My car is a '92 with 204k miles. I replaced the stock springs and KYB AGX's with just over 100k miles. I installed the FM sways several years ago and was satisfied with the handling characteristics of my car, until I kept reading about how much better the FM springs/Tokico shocks would be on my old car. The frame rail braces were given high praise as well, so it was a no brainer to add those whilst doing the suspension mods. My car now feels nearly as solid as my co-worker's 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata.
The difference is incredible. With the shocks set on 3f/2r and the sways set on the intial FM recommendations, the car corners as if it's on rails. Body roll is very minimal. Steering feel is enhanced and razor sharp. The car rides remarkably well and bumps in the road are soaked up effortlessly.
I took a familiar route the night after completing the install. There is one sweeping turn that I could comfortably take at 70 with the old set up. I took the turn the first time at 70 with the new set up. It was if the curve didn't exist. Subsequent passes were made, with the last being at 85 and still without a hint of body roll, loss of adhesion, etc. The car just arc'd through the turn as if glued to the road. It's hard to believe these simple modifications could make a 17 year old car feel this good.
I am excited to test out the car at the Tail of the Dragon (only a couple of hours from home). There are numerous other great twisties near home and I plan to explore as time permits.
Thanks for making such great products for the Miata community and thanks for superb customer service.

Proportioning valve
Thanks for the courtesy call. I bought the brake bias valve in the group buy and wow, I should have purchased this a couple years ago. It isn't often that I can buy something for my dual duty track / street car and have it make me smile on the street. Its amazing how much better the car stops with appropriate brake bias.

Gotta say, this has been the smoothest install I've done to date. Started and ran amazingly well on the base load. The performance so far is beyond my extectations! Big grin factor each time I take her out. Cant wait for spring and Track Time/Autocross. SM2 here I come!

FM suspension improvements
Good morning from Virginia! I haven’t had time to write you guys but I figured I’d write this morning. Anyways, over the “off season” (winter time) the wife and I purchased a set of FM springs and swaybars for our 94 track toy. Well, for my birthday I received the FM frame rails too. We installed the parts and started to have fun as the season of track days began. Immediately after installing the frame rails my wife noticed a difference just driving to work as to how much stiffer and quieter the car was. The suspension made a drastic difference too.
After doing a few track days we only have positive experiences with the set up. Every instructor that rides in the car is astonished as to how well balanced the car is. I receive compliments from everyone that rides in it. My wife who now rides instructorless with NASA in HPDE3 loves the way the car handles and “It does what it’s supposed to do now.” I love the ride on my 52 mile one way commute as it’s not harsh or upsetting. My wife works in Old Town Winchester which contains old roads with brick and large bumps and the suspension is still comfortable and compliant. I’m so glad we went with your springs instead of a stiffer coil over sleeve type setup. It’s really a truly great compromise and all of the parts really do work well together like a well sorted suspension should.
We live in the mountains of the Shenandoah Valley and the car is a blast to have fun running the twisties. Never has the car seemed out of control or on the ragged edge, partly because I am on public roads and partly because the setup is just great. It’s even not too bad on gravel. My wife enjoys taking the car to her weekend summer job at an orchard/farmers market because she gets some back roads fun. I proudly rock the “Flyin’ Miata” sticker on my motorsports fender because I can and do honestly recommend this setup to anyone in my situation; weekend track car and a daily driver. The setup really will do it all.
Just a letter from a very pleased enthusiast.

NC exhaust
I recently purchased the replacement exhaust for this car
from F.M.? . I was very impressed with how fast the unit arrived, and
the ease of installation. Even without puting the car up on a rack, it
was barely a 20 minute job. Car sounds much better, and based on seat of
the pants driving impression, I think it picked up a couple of ponies.
Great product, I'd highly recommend it to anyone with an 06 or newer
car.

Thanks!
I really can't say enough about you an Flyin' Miata. Just the tech help you give me through e-mail and even the small talk while I was in Iraq this past time has helped allot more than I think you could know. Not a lot can be said for the people at (BRAND X) who kept my car for a couple of months with one empty promise after another and sometimes not even returning my calls when all I wanted was the stupid ass (VAPORWARE ENGINE MANAGEMENT).
Then they dropped my car off on the street in the ghetto outside my apartment with the windows down and the keys sitting on my front tire without telling me they did so.

I talked to you Monday and ordered the 10th anniversary seats. You said they were a little faded. UPS delivered them late last night so it was hard to tell. I took them to the sunlight today and could not tell if they are faded. These were above your description.
I have wrote your phone number on the wall and will call you for any further needs. I will also recommend you to anyone with a Miata.
Thanks so much

An hour ago I received my package. Please tell the rest of the people there that you have been the fastest, most sensible-priced and honest shop I've ever done business with. You were even faster than the dealer 1km from my house(it takes him about a week to get an order delivered)!
Even my brother asked me if you had anything for his Nissan Almera (1,5L QG-15DE with aftermarket full exhaust system-a sad story).
I wish I could come myself to pick my next order.Until then keep up the good work and have a nice day.

FM sway bars
Thought I'd send you another pat on the back for a great product.
I'm the proud owner of an "07" MX-5 that my family has affectionately named " Zoom- Zoom". Last week, I had the FM front & rear swaybars installed on my car. They have transformed the way the car handles. I can now run into corners at ridiculous speeds and pull through them like I was on rails.
Thank You for a great product that really works beyond expectations. I look forward to installing more of your goodies to truly make my car " Zoom-Zoom".

FM Suspension
Hi there,
Just wanted to say that I had a great weekend at Thunderhill
(backwards) with my new FM suspension on my 94. I already had the FM springs/Illumninas and just added matched FM sways. What a blast. I could not believe how flat and balanced the car transitioned between some of the quick turns. It was incredibly stable in off camber turns and I did not seem to give up any traction at all. I did not lose the rear end at all, which surprised me given all the talk about running a increased diameter rear sway.
At first I was hesitant to take a quicker turn in, but I was amazed how quickly the car settled, especially with a little left foot brake.
Anyways,
Thanks.

FM butterfly brace
I have a turbo from Midnight Performance. I know they got parts from you folks to make my car work. I push 248 lb-ft to the wheels and have stronger transmission rear end and a whole bunch of goodies. I run 225/45/15 R-Compound tires on this 1992 with 245,000+ miles. The frame used to twist so badly that it was scary to drive fast. At first I had a pair of custom doorbars welded between the firewall and seatbelt tower brace (with a tie in to the floor by the seat). That helped. But running 2:02 laps at ThunderHill was very worrisome with the unpredictable manners the car had. It would go from a push to a snap oversteer at high speeds. You simply could not drift the car - or weird stuff would happen. And forget about dropping the throttle mid corner! But after I installed the FM Butterfly Brace - MAN it drives like a Spec Miata with a full roll cage - except it's have more than twice the power. What a BLAST!
So - the only problem is that if you look carefully at one of the photos, you will notice that I need some downforce. My wheels appear to be OFF the ground. Do you have a wing or something that can keep me pressed against the tarmac?
Kindest regards,
Mario
(note - this email was accompanied by a picture of Mario with all four wheels well off the ground, jumping a section of track at Thunderhill)

Mazdaspeed upgrades
A few months ago, I purchased the complete FM intake kit for the MSM. Installation was simple and straightforward and the end result yielded good results. Take off was smoother, there seemed to be a bit more power, and overall driveability was significantly improved.
Two weeks ago, taking advantage of your sale, I purchased the complete MSM exhaust kit (downpipe, midpipe and muffler). My first impression was that, like the intake kit, the materials and workmanship were very high, and this along with the prior experience with the intake kit produced some pretty admitedly high expectations. The exhaust kit was again a straightforward installation, the only difficulty being the recalcitrant bolts the the head of the downpipe. After much persistence, we prevailed and the system was complete. First impression upon fire-up was that any fears we had about undue noise or the changing of the beloved MSM into a "tuner" sounding "buzzrocket' were unfounded, as the noise was only minimally louder, although significantly more "deep" and "throaty". All in all, very pleasing.
Now here's where the trouble comes in: I admit to having rather high expectations, but really guys, your description of the improvement we could expect is not entirely accurate, including phrases like "good increase in power" and "noticeably faster spoolup". HAH! I have a better phrase, more succinct and far more accurate: HOLY SH*T!!!!! Faster spoolup? So much so as to be, for all intents and purposes instantaneous!! Good increase in horsepower? How about WOW!! So what's my problem? Only that my wife (at age 55 no less!) won't let the keys out of her hand!!!
Seriously, we finished the installation on Monday, October 6 and left at 6AM the next day for a road trip from Phoenix, AZ to Napa, CA, returning the following Monday. Over 2,000 miles of the greatest smiles you can imagine!! Top down driving at it's finest, we drove up the coast hiqhway on the way up and back down as well, letting the MSM roar through the glorious scenery of Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur, and much, much more all the while thrilling to the ENORMOUS improvement in power, responsiveness, and sheer joy of the MSM. Bolting on the exhaust allowed the boost (as measured on the FM boost gauge) to go from 8 psi to 10 psi without touching the boost controller. Step on the gas at 75 mph and this little baby GOES!!!!
To say that we are pleased with the results is as inaccurate as saying "good increase in power". WE ARE THRILLED!!!! Anyone who owns an MSM and doesn't spend the $1500.00 for the FM intake and exhaust kits is getting only HALF of what the car can deliver!! If anyone ever doubts that, have them call me!! Cost? WORTH EVERY CENT!!! What an amazing transformation!! The MSM has always been fun to drive, but now it is downright exciting! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! How refreshing to have a company deliver MORE than what it promises!! Keep up the good work!! We are confirmed FM fans for life!!

butterfly brace
My butterfly brace and frame rails are finally installed as of Thursday! I just wanted to say what a great part this is, which I'm sure you know. I thought my big brake kit and rollbar were great mods, but this one takes the cake! The car feels completely different, so much more solid. I was able to set my shocks stiffer and actually benefit from it instead of losing traction and hopping/ sliding around turns! I feel like I gave my chassis new life! I honestly think it's the best thing I could have done for the car, and not just for handling, but I feel this will prevent the 12 year old chassis from aging and wearing out any more.
It's rare to find a part like this around the sport compact world in general (most people never thinking their car could benefit from one or even knowing such a thing exists), and even more rare to find one that works so perfectly! Seriously, it's hard to think of another tuning company that has a more dedicated focus on one car.
Thanks for making owning a Miata such a unique experience!

The worst thing about FM
Just wanted to say “thanks” for all your help over the last 2 months whilst I have sorted my cooling system. I did a track day in June and after 5 or 6 laps my car temp gauge would be on it’s way off the scale.
After changing the thermostat, fitting the second fan (yes, the garage managed to fit it in the end), having a coolant system flush and fitting a track-dog radiator shield I managed to do a track day at the weekend in similar heat without having to stop for cooling at all.
I have a Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera back home in the UK and my Voodoo II Miata is way more fun on a track day and far cheaper to run and maintain. Thanks to you Guys & Gals at Flyin’ Miata for all the research, development and support that results in such a comprehensive range of performance products for the Miata.
But the worst thing…..there’s always more you can do to make the car quicker (and the bank account lighter!)

FM turbo exhaust
Just installed my turbo exhaust (single outlet) on my '94 yesterday and it was by far the easiest exhaust install I've ever done. I've installed a half dozen or so aftermarket systems on various cars, and none fit as perfectly and went on as easily as this. Thanks for the excellent build quality, great look, and crisp exhaust note under hard throttle while still quiet under light throttle.

FM suspension kits
I bought a full FM suspension kit(#2 with the tokicos) for my '99 just before christmas and installed it this spring. What a difference it makes at the track, I also had it aligned to the sport settings and the car just swallows the corners. You've made a great kit that I enjoy immensely. A friend of mine who had an NA and recently bought an NC drove it last Sunday. He came up to me and said he wanted his car to handle like mine. Seeing as how he is a racing driver (you name it and he's probably done it except the highest levels) and performance driving instructor its a glowing review for your kit. I've attached a picture of the track for your info. Its long and fast and is really fun. Unfortunately closing within the next year and a bit.

Mazdaspeed upgrades
I installed a complete MSM upgrade and full exhaust on a car yesterday with great results. In stock form the MSM runs pretty well down here at sea level, but the upgrades were a huge improvement. The difference in spool up was not as big as I expected, but I do not think the turbo is as laggy down here as it is for you guys. The customer is Scott Ayers and he was just amazed at the power difference when we took the car out for a run to set up the manual boost controller. With the MBC I was able to set the boost with a brief spike at 10psi then holding solid at 9psi to redline. Scott was very happy with the exhaust note as well. Overall, the upgrades are a great improvement to the car. Well done!

FM turbos are surprisingly smooth to drive!
Just wanted to thank you for such a fine product. Ken Hill installed an FM II-Hydra on my 1.6L and it dyno's at 222hp / 187ftlbs. It just keep's on pulling through it's acceleration but of greater surprise is its drivability. A removed a JRSC prior to installation which was nothing but trouble compaired to the refinement of the FM II. Attached are some pics of my baby at a recent autocross event. Once again thanks for your product and help.

I Just wanted to congratulate you on an excellent web page design, I think that the drop down menus on the left side of the page (Online Store, Turbochargers, Superchargers, ect.) make the page very user friendly and simple to navigate, Kudos!

FM rear shock mounts
Around six months ago, I ordered a set of Koni adjustable shocks and a pair of FM rear shock mounts to replace the very worn original shocks in my 95M Edition Miata. I was worried about installing them myself so I took everything to a a local brake/muffler/suspension shop. I was surprised and disappointed to find out that they couldn't figure out how to get the FM rear shock mounts in, but I needed my car back, so I paid for what they did, and drove off with just the new Koni shocks installed.
The car handled much better with the new shocks, but the ride was a little harsh. Actually, it was uncomfortably harsh.
Today, about 6 months after the mechanics failed attempt at installing the FM shock mounts, I decided to give it a try myself. With basic hand tools, a floor jack, a scissor jack and a spring compressor (which, by the way, is relatively inexpensive and easy to use) and very little automotive wrenching experience I managed to get the FM shock mounts in place in about 3 hours. I then took the car for a three hour topless drive through some of the twistiest local British Columbia mountain roads. The ride improvement over the OEM shock mounts and the FM shock mounts was huge! I expected some improvement, but I was surprised to find that the car now rode like I expect a new stock early Miata would ride.
The FM rear shock mounts are a fantastic product and even a non wrenching turning person like me was able to figure out how to install them. I highly recommend them to anyone installing aftermarket shocks, and for anyone who knows how to use basic hand tools, I recommend doing them yourself.

How to save money by spending a bit more
Thanks in advance. I’m slowly learning to just go to FM the first time around, because I’ve yet to actually save any money doing things the “cheap” way. No FM part that’s gone on my car thus far has needed attention afterwards, and your service is unparalleled.
Whoops, we forgot to write the name down!

Sometimes, things go wrong. It's what happens afterwards that counts.
Keith -
I got the part first thing Saturday morning. I am VERY pleased!
Thank you so much for personally handling this mini crisis. Because this matter was handled so carefully and with haste I was able to install the parts this weekend. My car is fully reassembled and corner balanced. It is ready for this coming weekend's track event.
I couldn't be happier! I hold Flyin' Miata in very high regards!!! I also am bragging to my friends about the support I received from you.
This will not be forgotten.

A pleased Dane
I have now driven with the butterfly, AGX and rear shock mounts installed for roughly a month now and I'm very pleased.
The car handles much better now. Bumps are actually dealt with by the suspension rather than my tooth fillings now, the car corners like a little race car and even the overall comfort is increased. For instance the rearview mirror doesn't shake at high speeds and the car doesn't sound like an old wodden ship when handling tough surfaces anymore.
On top of that I reciewed a shipping refund of 125$ yesterday, as you had aparently overcharged me on the shipping. That sort of honest service coupled with product quality and support is the reason people like me continue to do business with you, spite the cost of having something shipped halfway across the earth. Keep up the great job and don't even for once think on letting go of the NA when designing new gizmos, even though it's getting older:)
Regards, Danny Knudsen
Denmark
BTW: I had my favorite mechanic install the butterfly as I hate drilling in my beloved car. He was impressed by the quality of the pieces and the design. And he's no ordinay mechanic, most of his work is reparing damaged supercars (mostly Ferraris), track cars and the liking.

Fabulous!
Abbreviated version:
Fabulous job by FM and many thanks for bringing great products to miata drivers. Cheerio.
Long version:
A little feedback on FM springs/sway bars: Installed FM sway bars first sitting on Koni Yellow Sports and OEM springs on my 91 NA. Immediate impression is that I can take corners faster. There is significantly lesser roll and the car is much compliant entering and exiting corners. Good stuff. A week later replaced OEM springs with FM springs, new OEM suspension upper mounts and new OEM bump stops (trimmed as advised by FM). Although I cannot comment on how much my ride has been lower yet (only 24hrs after installing the springs), I can already confirm all the positive feedbacks I read from FM's website myself. Car is really planted to the road. The ride quality is firm but not harsh (Koni shocks 1F/1.25R from softest position). I figure if I were to set my shocks to the softest setting the ride may be identical to stock.
Now with both sway bars and springs combi (and Koni), my car is composed on straights and flat at corners.
Great stuff. Cannot wait to push my miata further once the springs have settled.
Fabulous job by FM and many thanks for bringing great products to miata drivers. Cheerio.

FM suspension
The installation was relatively pain less (least amount of knuckle busters), with only a difficulty factor of 3 (due to the plastic cover bolts, all of them). The results of the installation far exceed my expectations. The over all combination of good springs, shocks, and the final touch of the FM sway bars makes the car what it can really be! Outside of challenging SUV's on highway, The car corners like there is no tomorrow and has improved the overall ride of the car.
Keep up the good work!

FM Stage 1.5 suspension
Just wanted to say that the FM 1.5 suspension kit for my 97 Miata is awsome! Bought the 97 a few months ago with 98000 on the original suspension. Having lowered cars before, I must say that I was skeptical . I commute 112 miles a day on some poor concrete interstates. No bouncing, no bottoming, just firm. I have driven 600 miles on the FM1.5 so far. Can't wait to get to the twisties! Miata lovers don't hesitate, buy one.

Butterfly brace
Our Mariner Blue 1990 Miata—the very car that graced the cover of the June issue— has had a long life. It’s now pushing over 200,000 miles and has shown no signs of giving up the ghost. While new Miatas never really felt that stiff in the chassis-rigidity department, our rat has come to feel pretty flimsy over the years.
We recently gave the car a physical boost with the installation of Flyin’ Miata’s butterfly brace system. These laser-cut pieces of stainless steel tie the front and rear subframes together
to create one beautiful structure. The kit took us a little more than two hours to install, and that includes the time it took to remove the seats and carpet for the drilling of the 16 required holes. (Note that this kit isn’t legal for
some racing classes.)
Now when the steering wheel is turned, the front and rear suspensions instantly respond, making the car much more predictable. In one instant, it’s like we removed a few hundred thousand miles from the odometer.
The Flyin’ Miata Butterfly Brace is an impressive piece of engineering, as it improves the Miata’s rigidity with no real downside.

2006+ dual exhaust
I first saw this exhaust in person in June at the Miatas in Eureka event in Eureka Springs, AR. All I was able to ascertain was what it sounded like at idle, as I did not take a ride in the car. I liked the sound at idle and I liked the solid look of the angle cut 3.5 inch tips.
Of all the aftermarket NC exhaust systems (Borla, FM, Magnaflow (only one with 4 inch tips), MS, RB, RS), I eliminated from consideration the Borla and Magnaflow because they are not a bolt on system, but require cutting of the mid pipe and are not as easily reversed if you are dissatisfied. I further eliminated the RS because I did not like the look of the tips or the Roadster Sport script logo engraved on the tips. I further eliminated the MS due to price in excess of $500.
Between the FM and RB I chose the FM due to the cooler look of the solid angle cut tips, less noticeable logo, and lifetime warranty. If I need to make a warranty claim, FM is only a scenic 1-day drive away in Grand Junction, CO for me. RB is in Anaheim, CA.
Based on the Goodwin Racing web site and an e-mail inquiry with Brian Goodwin who makes the RS, I was able to ascertain that the quietest NC aftermarket exhaust is the Racing Beat (heavier than stock) followed by his RS w/ optional baffles inserted, followed by the FM, followed by his RS w/o baffles. In his opinion the MS is the loudest.
Any aftermarket exhaust is louder than stock and is louder with the top up vs. top down, but the FM is not too loud in my opinion. Tone is not ricey at all, but deep like some V-6 and V-8s. Under acceleration, it reminds me of an Infiniti VQ V-6 with duals as found on the G Coupe and FX cross-over models -- one of the nicest factory exhaust notes out there, in my opinion.
Installed in July and was done easily within 30 minutes. In fact I installed an Italian made Nautilus twin tone air horn by Stebel (available at Thompson Automotive) the next day that took longer than the FM install.
Stock exhaust is too tame sounding and looking. FM is about right in my opinion. I have kept my stock exhaust, but once I installed the FM, I have not looked back.
Will have my car with the FM exhaust at Hallett later this month if anyone cares to check it out personally before they pull the NC aftermarket exhaust trigger.
Thanks FM, for a great dual exhaust for the NC

FM II
Took a few people from work for rides yesterday, all had been in the car before, one has a '93 Miata. Sarah Screamed, Bob's comment was holy s--t, Jake (the other Miata driver) got sand from the floor mat on his chin after his jaw dropped. After work I went by a guy in an Audi, not sure the model, similar to a TT in appearance. I think he saw the intercooler in his mirror when I came past him stopping at a light. He moved over & followed me out to the highway, the entrance has a tight 180 degree ramp followed by about an eighth mile straight ramp. I was to the top of the ramp before he made it out of the turn, yeehhhaaaa!

FM tech support
I just want to say a big thank you for your tech help on the phone last week. I was experiencing shifting problems with my ‘00 Miata, and your tech line person led me directly to the slave cylinder as the probable culprit. I ordered the part that day, had it delivered 2nd Day by UPS (it arrived next day, believe it or not!), and the part was installed by my garage today. Everything is back to perfect, and I’m smiling while I’m driving once again. You guys saved me much time and frustration (the garage was ready to replace the entire clutch kit, “I’ve never seen a slave cylinder go bad, and this one is squirting fluid perfectly”, with a total clutch job cost of close to $900).
Thanks again and again. You have my undying gratitude.

1.8 conversion kit
Flying Miata Team,
I'm writing because I want to share my joy with you. I do have a question, but we'll get to that in a minute. I have successfully swapped a junkyard 1.8 bucket of parts into my 93 miata. I have never built an engine before, but thanks to your swap kit and numerous other parts I built the motor in my spare time and have successfully swapped it in. It took me a really long time and a fair amount of money but the joy (and relief) of turning the key the first time on my first build and having it start are indescribable. The attached pictures were taken just a day before birth as I was fabricating the intake plumbing which turned out pretty well if I do say so myself. Anyway, I'm thrilled and I want to say thank you. The new motor's torque is very noticeable in the first 60 miles I've driven it. The manners are unchanged from stock or actually a little improved. Now the research begins on the FI kits.

Now I understand why Flyin’ Miata has such a great reputation
About a month and a half ago, I called your customer service/tech line to get some input on springs to lower my ’94 Miata. After a good conversation with the guy who answered, I was convinced that the FM springs were something I needed to ask my wife to get me for Christmas. Also, they came highly recommended by the guys on Miata.net. The box showed up at my house last week, and I installed them that weekend. It’s now been a week that I’ve had them on, and I had to let you guys know how happy I am!
I bought my car about 2.5 months ago from someone who installed new Bilstein HD shocks and Neuspeed sway bars (front and rear). So it already handled pretty well (especially after I put some wheels off a 2001 MR2 with Azenis tires on it!),.. I was a little worried that the higher spring rate of the FM springs would cause my ride to become too stiff or jarring, but as soon as I took it out for a spin, those concerns were tossed out the window! The ride is just as comfortable as it was before I installed the springs, and the handling is phenomenal now. Not to mention, it took care of some of the extra room in my wheelwells. My ride height went to 12 3/8” from the center of the hub to the fender lip in the front, and 12 ½” in the rear.
I had checked into a couple other brands before deciding upon the FM springs, and had thought about one of those ‘other’ brands because the spring rate was lower, and I thought it would be closer to the stock ‘feel’.. but that’s why I called to talk to someone .. who explained to me that although the spring rate is higher on the FM springs, it’s necessary to avoid hitting the bumpstops on every dip in the road. Additionally, I was concerned about the Bilstein HD shocks I have, and whether they’d be able to keep up with the springs.. I expected him to try to upsell me on some more expensive shocks, but he was really cool – he told me that the Bilsteins should be fine for normal spirited street driving, but if I wanted to step it up, I might eventually want to upgrade the shocks.
Now I understand why Flyin’ Miata has such a great reputation amongst the Miata community – the customer service was great, no pushy sales, just honest Miata loving enthusiasts like myself. Additionally, the product is great.
Thanks for helping to make my Christmas a great one!

FM II
I just wanted to let you know my Turbo is running perfectly and is a lot of fun! I still have the boost set to 8 psi although I have a built engine. Still it is so much fun to drive that car. I recently have been to the Hockenheimring, where the german F1 GP has been held. I had the time of my life chasing MKII Elises there that are supposed to be the best handing cars in their class...

hmmm, if they attended to those details, imagine the product.
I knew we'd get a fair answer from you, Keith. The thing I like about FM's site (whether this is product-relevant or not) is that FM actually
posted projected RWHP that's found VERY easily, along with install/tune "stars" to judge difficulty.
I didn't find expected results on the (Brand X) site or a breakdown table on installation (though instructions were right there on the page). The only mention of power is a reference to the big-boy 300+RWHP deal when you put ALL the goodies on. Sure, great, but what about not being able to afford all 6 grand in parts at once?
That doesn't necessarily reflect poorly on their product, of course, I just like that FM took the time to attend to such details - which makes
One think "hmmm, if they attended to those details, imagine the product." :)

JIC Magic coilovers
Some feedback from the first slalom on the Magic JIC FLT-A2 coil-overs (sadly last event of the season):
Well, they truly are Magic. I didn't think it possible, but not only did I beat the Lotus Elise, but I spanked it. Alvin, and Andrew in Alvin's car, also did very well. Attached is the spreadsheet of our 2006 events…you can see on the third event that Brent in the Lotus beat me by a good amount, barely beat me in the fourth event, and I whooped his a$$ on both course designs in the fifth event (double set of results on that page…scroll down).
The car is simply amazing now…where as I was always fighting the back end on long sweepers, trying to prevent oversteer / spin, the rear end is simply glued now. The car tackles serpentines like never before, transitioning faster than I can. This setup is going to take some getting used to…but then again, I'm still playing with ride heights, and thusly have not had a new alignment or had corner-weighting done.
All in all, I may have kicked the Lotus' a$$, but I did have to spend $$'s to do it…but I'm very happy.
BTW, it took Brenda four days to notice the stripes on the Miata back in 1994…but only 30 min to comment about the ride quality with the Butterfly brace installed (she hasn't ridden in the car since the JIC install, which may take her enjoyment back down a notch or two), so that too is saying something.

Butterfly brace
The brace makes a noticeable difference. The brace alone made more of a noticeable difference than the Hard Dog roll bar I installed last year. My wife even noticed. She made a comment to the effect that the car doesn't seem like it's shaking itself apart over potholes. The most severe holes and shoddy patch jobs still unsettle the car a bit (these same potholes will unsettle most any car though), but the average ones are taken in stride. Cowl shake seems to be reduced to the level of the best convertibles I've experienced.
As far as the rails vs. the brace: I can definitely say the brace made the bigger difference of the two. With only the rails, the cowl shake wasn't really reduced, but the car did seem to communicate more to the driver, espically with what the rear end was doing.
Adding the brace to the rails really seemed to tighten everything up overall. I haven't had a chance to really thrash on the car with the brace in, but it does make a more noticable difference simply driving around when compared to just the rails.
I had thought about only doing the rails in a bid to save some cash. After experiencing things both ways, I'd definatly say both pieces are the way to go and I'm glad I went that direction.
Everything I've done this year has made the car that much more of a joy to drive. I was contemplating selling the car at the beginning of spring, but decided to take it out for a season of regional autocross. After the suspension work and additional bracing, the car is so much more enjoyable. As far as racing goes, the nut behind the wheel needs some tightening and I probably should have done that first before dumping money into the car, but it's an absolute hoot figuring it out. The car is never anything less than entertaining.

1999 FM II Hydra turbo system
General running has been awesome. I have to say how impressed I am with the FMII kit as a whole. I daily drive the car (in addition to 20 autocrosses a year) and have nearly 20k on the car since the turbo kit went on... with zero problems. I expected to have several major gremlins to work out (as with most projects of this type), but the car has been as reliable as stock. No overheating problems either on the highway or autocross and I got 32 mpg on my last highway trip (yes, I did have to keep my foot out of it).

Mazdaspeed MX-5 upgrades
By the way and I'm sure you know this, but the car is truly transformed by the exhaust and intake. My car is a daily driver and the changes are much noticed and appreciated during "normal" driving. A light touch on the gas and the car responds much more quickly and with more power. Less shifting and better acceleration. It's a wonderful thing!

Butterfly brace and shock mounts
On my factory braced w/ 4pt roll bar 94R it made a HUGE difference. Add in the FM rear shock mounts, and my miata rides like a real car. Its composure over bumps now is amazing. Every rattle in the cabin is now gone as well. I also can't speak highly enough of this brace.
While it isn't as stiff as the full 6pt cage I had in my race car, its about as close as I can possibly imagine without a 6pt cage.
I was on the verge of trying to source a low priced beater to drive to work in after getting a much longer commute with a new job due to the bone jaring of the miata suspension. I'm now perfectly happy and comfortable in my miata again on the much longer journey to work and back each day.
Did I mention the car has konis on the lowest perch, and due to those two mods it actually rides BETTER than a stock non-R package miata??

Butterfly brace
I have a 99 with a HD Hard Core, FM Strut Tower brace, and a BSP front subframe brace. Even with the braces I had the new FM stuff made a huge difference.
The pictures don't do it justice. The Butterfly has many pieces welded to create its strength. The metal is about 3/16" thick (not a weight saving move) and you could get on CNN in a blink if you threw it at someone.
This is one of those Miata specific inventions that comes along every so often that actually works better than you thought and it does something that is severely needed.

Frame rails
Just installed my frame rail brace tonight (no butterfly yet!). Car is a 1991 with HDHCDD and no other bracing.
The improvement is just incredible! The chassis feels so solid rolling down the road. My suspension is fairly stiff (450/350 + Konis at 1 / 0.5 turn F/R) and has always been a bit bouncy but that is MUCH reduced. The car feels better-than-new.. like the NBs I've driven. Little bumps? Ignored. Bigger bumps? The suspension does its job (you hear it but don't feel it).
Couldn't recommend this piece more highly. I can't imagine a strut tower brace or anything else making so much difference. Note that I already had a rollbar and the improvement is REALLY noticeable. I felt the rear end stiffen up with the rollbar, but this is more front-to-rear stiffening in comparison.
Can't WAIT to get the butterfly!

Butterfly brace
FM installed a butterfly brace on my '92 on Thursday afternoon and I headed to Aspen for CECA's (Colorado Exotic Car Association) Aspen weekend.
I drove Janel's '90 with a butterfly brace at the open house and was impressed how solid and tight her '90 with over 100k felt. I ran it over multiple railroad tracks and every bump I could find. I was hoping it would do the same for my car which has 103k on it.
Although the brace did help some with the inside wheel lift and spin, it didn't fix the problem. However, the car feels much tighter and the inside rear view mirror doesn't fuzz out anymore. It did help on the track and I managed 2nd fastest time of the day in a field of 35 or so cars ranging from Vipers to Panteras to Shelby Cobras and a host of other fast cars. I was only beaten by a 450 hp STi with humongous turbo, roll cage and big sticky tires. In the past, I typically come in 4th or 5th in the timed laps at these events.
I think FM has another great product for us in the Miata community. I recomend it to any one wanting a tighter chassis.

One happy camper reporting for duty.... SIR!!! *lol*
Got it in and running... in about 2 hours... with absolutely no problems what-so-ever. I couldn't believe how well it all went. The instructions were in Klingon to begin with, but the judicious use of a mate with one already in, meant at least he could point out my follies before I made them. Actually, once I had the bits and pieces laid out in front of me, the instructions made perfect sense.
Anyway.... Cheers for your help and advice during the rather long-winded and protracted purchase window. Hopefully the next stage won't take as long to get around to... finances allowing!
Thanks once again to all the boys 'n girls at Flyin'Miata for this product.... and the service I received in getting it. I'll tell ya... the Europeans (especially the British and Irish markets) have a lot to learn about customer service, and could do with going back to school to learn how to handle a customer properly. My car feels absolutely amazing... each of the gears has moved down one (3rd behaves like 2nd used to, 4th like 3rd etc etc) and the induction growl from the K&N without the MAF restriction sounds even better to my ears. And this's still while normally aspirated! I'm in serious jeopardy of dislocating my lower jaw one of these days... I'm beginning to resemble the Joker from Batman.

FM shock mounts
Last night I finally got the time to install the new FM spring perches. The installation was very straight forward and quick, no hitches at all.
Just two years ago I upgraded my suspension with Powerflex polyurethane and stainless steel bushings and Koni adjustable shocks. I kept the Tokico sport springs from the Advanced Handling Kit I used long ago, which are shorter and just a little stiffer than the stock springs. I use the highest perch position on the shock body, because here in the great northeast you want as much suspension travel as possible. At the time I did all this, I took the opportunity to replace all four of the upper spring perches and bump stop/boots, since my car was twelve years old at the time. Just this year I replaced the Moss steel heim joint swaybar endlinks with Racing Beat polyurethane/steel/aluminum endlinks, since the Moss parts were getting a bit worn and were clicking ( annoyingly so ) over bumps. With this setup, I was treated to an unbelievably responsive and delightfully stiff ride, with virtually no rolling over even in the hardest turns; I remember once I was taking a particular turn on the ride home from work SO HARD, I felt something hit my arm... it was a piece of tarmac that had flicked up into the cockpit. This actually gave me even greater pleasure than executing the turn at speed itself, since it appeared my car would rather rip off chunks of the road rather than slip.
The only thing that sucked about this setup was the total lack of any real rear suspension travel, despite the rear shock/lower spring perch setting.
Enter the FM spring perches. The items themselves are gorgeous castings of billet aluminum, polished and anodized in purple, which actually doesn't look bad... I remember when I ordered them a month or so ago I asked Ken Hill if they would be available un-anodized, ala Skip Cannon, but decided not to go this route because I wanted to get them in the car; the whole lot of unfinished castings had been send to the anodizer and no spares were currently available in an unfinished state. So purple is what I got. I thought I would hate it, but now I actually like it... they look kind of cool in my all-white trunk area. I always wondered what all the little allen head bolts on top were for, and they are there to hold the spherical bearing to the spring perch body. The bearing itself has two sleeves that slip inside the top and bottom of the bearing, to adapt the shock rod top to the bearing. Very nicely done, super strong and really heavy-duty, which is pretty much the whole theme of my car anyway... I love performance stuff that lasts forever. These parts sure appear to fit the part. The old setup came apart very easily and without the aid of a spring compressor, on account of the short Tokico sport springs. The Konis showed virtually no signs of any wear, only a little surface rust near the adjustable spring perch snapring. The FM instructions called for bumpstops to be cut in one of two positions; one for typical setups and another, shorter position for other setups that may need more travel ( to prevent hitting the bumpstops, if the car is really low I'd assume ). I opted for a cut in-between these two, since I figured the shorter springs would yield the need for a bit more bumpstop clearance. It turned out that idea was just fine; no bottoming was experienced. I did have to use my spring compressor for installation though, since even with the shorter springs you need that extra inch or so to reinstall the shock top nuts. Air tools are great. The new setups were easily reinserted into the car.
For the test drive, I chose to really put the new setup to the test: there is a backroad near my home that I have feared for years and avoided like the plague, since the washboard, pot-hole strewn surface was not compatible with either my previous suspension setup or my kidneys, not to mention my rendition of 'mechanical empathy' for my car. It was right for this road I headed, to see if all of the expense and labor would bear fruit. The result: SUCCESS. Not a half-assed success, REAL SUCCESS. My car has been transformed. I no longer have the 'L.A.-style' ride over the bumps, no more pogo-sticking around bad corners, and absolutely no bottoming out.
Truly, I never realized how much action the bumpstops in my previous setup were seeing until now. I just grew accustomed to the crappy performance over the bumpy stuff and instead looked forward to the great performance on the smooth stuff; now I no longer have to compromise. I tell you, the new-found freedom I have to drive my car on just about any road I want now is a thrill in itself, since a lot of the roads around here are really in bad shape. They are also very scenic, picturesque and twisty, and now they are at my disposal once again.
If you have an M1, and if you have designs on a performance suspension for it, you will absolutely have to put the FM spring perches on your shopping list of must-have hardware for your new setup. Order them now. You cannot be disappointed with the results. Cheers, again, to Bill C. & FM for bringing forward another awesome part, one that is only a notch or two below the satisfaction index their turbo kits provide. I can't wait for the ride home, already asked my Boss if I could work through lunch and leave an hour early.

FM support
Thanks again for all your help on the tires and wheels. I have never experienced the kind of support from any company that I get from you guys.
You are an amazing group of folks and run an outstanding company. I will start saving up for all the beers I owe you.

Thanks for the help, FM!
My wife, Rebecca, bought me a set of FM sway bars for Christmas. I am sure you can imagine what a wonderful surprise it was. I am stoked to put them on. We live in PA so it is a little cold to do the work.
However, I have plans to put heat in my mistress' apartment (the garage) and do the installation this month or next.
I wanted to thank you for the help you gave to Rebecca. Believe it or not, she is very enthusiastic about this "hobby" ;-) of mine. I first started working on cars when I was13 with my brother. Yet I've never had the opportunity to really tweak a car like I've always wanted to (Mostly because I had to make sure I could get to work every day). I was 18 when the Miata was introduced and I wanted one right from the start. I bought one in 2000, a '94, black with a tan top.
You helped Rebecca and I solve our first problem: where to start? You also helped me get an idea of what the next steps are as well. I am so excited I can barely sit still! I have heard great things about Flyin' Miata from many web sites, including my favorite, Miata.net.
The service and advice my wife received from you was awesome. She didn't feel like a "Number" like some other places made her feel. I am sold on Flyin' Miata and I hope I'll be able to take advantage of your products and services a lot more in the future! It's great to work with an organization that is focused on their products and service, and not just on profit.
Thanks again, I hope your Holidays were as great as ours has been.
PS - I'm sure you know that Santa has a bumper sticker on his sleigh
that says "My other car is a Miata". I'll bet you he got the sticker from FM.

Thank you!
Thanks for your excellent customer service on this one, far exceeding my expectations and far better than your competitors. I've come to the conclusion after 12 years of good and poor experiences with the Miata aftermarket, that FM is the place for all my future orders.
Cheers!

FM shock mounts
I just got them installed on my M1 that has FM springs and sways with KYB-AGX shocks. I have had the spring/shock set up for a little over two years. The shock mounts are a great addition! Who would have ever guessed that an inch+ more of shock travel would result in making the car ride better and giving me a more confident feeling in the twisties. Now if there was just a way for everybody to see how pretty they are! Too nice a finish to put on the underside of my car! Tell everybody at FM thanks for offering this product. I consider it worth the money even! Anyone who is running your springs on the street should consider this a must have product.

No BS.
Good Morning Bill,
Just a quick note on how good Jeremy and Mark are on the phone. I always enjoy dealing with places that have genuinely have fun at what they do and are a no B.S. pretty much tell you how it is attitude. This will always bring me back to you guys for you products. (I'm pretty sure this is not the first time you've heard this, but you can never hear it to much!)

FM dual exhaust
The additional hanger went on without a hitch
and the 20mm bolt fit just fine(thanks for the help on the phone Friday evening). Hanging the exhaust was a snap with wd-40 on the grommets. All in all, I think it took me 2 hours from start to finish, but that's because I had the exhaust on and off twice to cut the opening slowly and painstakingly careful; not to mention, polish the canister and tips before
final hanging.
The sight and sound of the dual exhaust is phenomenal! I absolutely love it! The Kansas City Miata Club event was a 4-5 hr trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas for the weekend and let me tell you the sound reverberating through the trees going up and down those hills was fantastic! The members took
turns driving behind me so they could look and listen to the pipes hum around every turn.
Being the only dual exhaust owner in the KC Club, the bonus was when some passerby's asked what dealership I bought my dual exhaust Miata from. It was pure enjoyment.

FM II turbo
Last night I did the last few tasks: Replaced the radiator hose, installed the air intake, adjusted a few hoses, refilled the radiator and replaced the shock tower brace. As the big moment approached time seemed to slow down, and I spent a long time delaying and double-checking everything. Truth be told, I was terrified to fire it up.
Eventually, at about 8 pm, I couldn't think of anything else to do, so I went through the computer resetting and initialization process (which is getting to be second-nature) and turned the key. The car started immediately and idled smoothly. I gave everything under the hood a cursory glance, then closed it up and backed onto the driveway. With the throttle barely cracked open it ran smoothly and seemed eager to lunge forward. I drove slowly down the driveway, eased into the street, then hit the gas.
The car let out a loud intake roar, reared up and shot forward. I slowed for the turn and went through the neighborhood at a sensible clip, occasionally hitting the gas for straightaways. After every acceleration episode I let off the gas and heard a dramatic GASP from the blow-off valve. Sort of like Darth Vader on bennies. The exhaust is very quiet, the intake and BOV fairly loud.
The intake and BOV noises scared me for awhile; I was afraid that something had to give. I called my brother Eli from the end of his street and showed up at his house ten seconds later ("I told you this car was fast"), then gave him and his wife Mary a ride around the block. At one point I got the car a bit sideways getting into second gear on a straightaway. (The tires were wet.) They both seemed suitably impressed. I came home, checked everything again, went through some more minor computer tuning, then shut it down for the night. The knock sensor had recorded zero incidents of detonation.
This morning was just as good, except now I knew what to expect. The intake/BOV noise seemed less pronounced now that I was used to them. I came up to a red light in the right lane with an empty lane to my left. A new Accord came coasting up from behind with the idea of going around me and dropping into my lane in front of me to turn right, taking advantage of my inertia to pass. The light turned green as he came up next to me. I executed a part-throttle acceleration and watched him shrink in my mirror, then humbly pull in behind me.
When I got to work I did some more tuning, executed a store, and shut it down.
The only glitch (and I mean only) is that somewhere near the ECU those two wires must again be in contact with each other, sending voltage from a boost control solenoid wire to the knock sensor ECU input wire. I disconnected the boost control solenoid until I can find that short, so in effect I can't use the electronic boost control. Consequently, I am consigned to the mechanical boost control, which limits me to about 8 psi. Once I sort out that short I can override the mechanical boost control and dial it up to 12 psi. However, at that point I will certainly have to install my new ACT clutch.
I have yet to firewall the throttle, but at 8 psi it is already the fastest car I have ever driven, I think. No comparison to the two Jackson Racing superchargers (1.6 and 1.8) I've had. Extremely smooth at idle, very progressive and controllable power; great low-end torque and throttle response. And I've barely begun tuning it.
I just want to drive right now. Not work. I am one happy camper. Thanks again.

"If it sucks, they don't sell it"
I STRONGLY recommend you stick with Flyin' Miata's products. They are selling great stuff and are genuinely deep into the miata spirit. When you look for top of the line miata turbo systems, you'll end up at Flyin' Miata EVERY time. I'm not affiliated with them at all, but from the experiences I've had, I can say that they are a very good source to buy from. If it "sucks", they don't sell it.
The FM2 systems are just great. Tuning the computer is a little bit of a pain and realistically, you'll always have some very minor quirks, but by FAR you'll really enjoy the setup. I have a kit called the FM3 from Flyin Miata. Long story short, they took the benefits of my system and improved the FM2 a couple years ago. What you get today in a FM2 is pretty much the ideal streetable pocket rocket miata. Easily double your horse power. Scare the crap out of all passengers (and the driver on occasion). Hurt feelings of Mustang and Camaro owners. Even worry a few Vette owners. in one word, all I can say is "awesome".
People like Ken Hill and Bill Cardell at FM are absolutely super to work with. They know their stuff and are always available for help.

FM horsepower and suspension
I just got back from another track weekend at Virginia International Raceway, and I had such fun with my car again that I had to let you know because you would understand! I fall more "in love" with the car every time I take it to the track (~7 times now). I have a full FM suspension and FM smallBB turbo/link - set to 10psi for the track. I finally have some DOT competition tires too. This thing goes like a scalded cat, straights and corners. NOTHING passed me all weekend in my run group, including a Boxster-S, many gen 3 RX-7s, 911s, z-28s etc(mostly due to the car I am sure!). I never touched the car all weekend other than tire pressures and gas - ultimate in reliability here. The Miata is such a great handling car to start with, and the FM springs and bars only improve it. My instructor was very impressed with the handling and wants to get the suspension package for her Miata. What else can I say? Of course, this is all preaching to the choir, but I figured good feedback is always welcome. Thanks again! :-)

FM turbo power
Seriously, you lurkers out there thinking of going turbo--just do it. These FM turbo Miatas are just beyond description. These things rule the universe. I was never a turbo guy, never even driven one until I bought this used FM III Miata. It is just amazing. And she's been perfectly reliable. I drive this car at 12 psi all the time, every day. These things are daily driver reliable. I drove this car from Louisiana to Maine and back on vacation last October with a side trip up Mt. Washington in New Hampshire.
Nothing like Fall foliage as seen from a turbo Miata with the top down, heater on full blast, flyin' down the Blue Ridge Parkway and through covered bridges around Island Pond, Vermont and dodging moose. You people rule. God bless all of you.

I appreciate ya'lls website, it helps to have someone who stocks miata parts. Where i live you have to go to five different shops to get what you need, and that if they have it or can even get it. I also appreciate ya'lls sense of humor, like the cat in the picture with the catalytic converter - thats pretty funny.

FM II
I took delivery of my '90 FM II three weeks ago, running it at 15 psi, and having the time of my life. It is EASILY twenty times more fun than my '95 M3. Make me an offer - it's going on the block. It's a great car, but I don't need it anymore. I'm dead serious about that. The M3 is marvelous transportation, but along side my almost thirteen year old Miata it might as well be a family sedan for old people. I've owned Porsches, Vettes, BMWs, etc., and they all take a distant back seat to the most fun car on the planet, at any price. I will drive my '90 FM II until you guys come up with a bored out FM ??, FM heavy duty transmission, rear end, et al, whatever with nitrous after which I'll send you another Miata to convert. Flyin' Miata and all of it's people are unbeatable. Period. (note - Buzz managed to sell the M3 shortly after)

Car is running great. It is totally hands-free. Haven't retuned it since summer of 1999. Runs perfectly. In fact, haven't upgraded to the air compensation and DLL just because I don't have the time to put into retuning...one day.
Even a bigger testimony to how "low maintenance" my car is....my wife drives it as a daily driver and she knows absolutely nothing about cars other than it should be warmed up before hitting boost. She doesn't even understand the purpose of a boost gauge!
It's a shame really, I barely remember all the zones since I rarely do downloads or use the keypad. There was a time when I could look at the zone on my laptop and immediately see any changes.
I am very lucky, I live in Victoria (cool dense air, no need for aircon, can use std radiator, sealevel, year-round driving) and I have access to 94 octane. So I set my timing as if I am running 15-17psi on a summer day then I keep it at 12psi unless I do a fast (ie. 3rd gear) AutoX with the Porsche club - then I just have to raise the boost and put on the old BFG-R1s. I believe my car is very reliable at 15psi, I just don't have the traction (no LSD) on the street plus my wife would no doubt freak out because the car is a little too frantic.

Miata love
I just wanted to thank you again for the great product you guys sell and service you provide. It is the dead of winter and the hardtop has been on my car for about 2 mos. As of last week I was becoming disinterested in my turbo miata and was considering buying something else.
Yesterday it was sunny and an unseasonable 65 degrees out. I took the hard top off and decided to go for a drive. As I cranked the car up in the garage, a sound I had forgotten for a while came rumbling back to my ears. The glorious sound of Turbo duals WITHOUT a top. (sounds quite different that way doesn't it?) I had a grin plastered on my face as I drove out of the driveway and onto country roads. The warm air was in my hair, and the rumbling of exhaust and blow-off sounds filling my ears. It is beyond me how I forgot what this car was all about. I have created many fond memories that would not have been possible without you. Thank you.
Because of this renewed interest - I am sure that you will be seeing my credit card number again soon. ;)

FM turbos and engine management
I kept working on the M45 to increase power, added the Tony nose pulley, a larger crank pulley. I loved the immediate power and really liked the "aggressive" (I try not to call it LOUD :-) supercharger exhaust note (with JR header/cat/exhaust). It dyno'ed at 148hp/148ft lbs torque last December and I knew more power was actually attainable. But I do track events 2-3 times per year (and I drive the Washington, D.C. beltway every day :-) and just wanted more power. I also found that I had to have an intercooler. No flames, please, but my experience with an intake mounted temp gauge was that the J&S had to work really hard to eliminate the knock in the summer and in fact couldn't completely - so my foot had to. Added a Pierburg fuel pump and BEGI to combat weak fuel. Added a Saab IC, turned the J&S way down, and had no more problems with temps. I did have a problem with idle droop no matter what I did. It didn't bother me but my wife was known to occasionally scream things like "I hate your ******* car" and "that ****** car almost got me killed, *****". She just didn't have a sense of humor, I guess.
Removed the afpr and put in the Link and 440 injectors first. Tuned the link. The Supercharger was awesome! Ran with no idle droop, no hesitation - NONE!! , just ran great! Gas mileage went from 21-22 to 25-26 overall - guess I was running rich to overcome the lean fuel problem when I had an afpr with stock injectors. At this point I was wondering why it was that I bought the turbo! If I didn't want more power, then the SC with the Link was really nice.
I then put in the rest of the FM II and the FM race radiator, FM cat and FM turbo exhaust. The car is really sweet. It's fairly quiet unless I nail it; my wife likes it; no idle droop, no noticable turbo lag. Instant on power is virtually like the supercharger. And cars are much farther behind half a block from traffic lights; and I only use 3/4 throttle most of the time - that gives that nice satisfying turbo growl. With the SC I used full throttle a lot more. And my gas mileage overall is now around 27 with the turbo. Guess I'm just getting more mature :-)
So with the turbo I have more power, it's smoother, quieter (that might not be a bonus except when the gestapo is around), my gas mileage is better. I hope to dyno it this fall and should really know how much better I like it after doing VIR on Labor Day weekend (I've done VIR 3 times with the supercharger setup).
So that's my experience with a JR supercharger and FM II on the same 93 1.6 car. Hope this helps someone. I learned a lot about supercharger installations in my travels and now would do THAT quite differently. Now I know that the turbo is here to stay, I have to post all the Supercharger system components for sale.
One final note - credit where credit is due. I got a tremendous amount of support from Bill Cardell at FM both in determining how to set up the SC and installing the turbo. And in helping with some really stupid things I did, like in a timing belt install.... Oh, well let's not talk about THAT! Anyway, lots and lots of thanks to Bill.

Link ECU
Hi all,
I just took my first drive with the FM ECU in my s/c'ed '92. The default setup really worked quite well. It started right up, I set the
timing to 10 degrees, and drove it. There were a few stumbles in the first 0.25-0.5 mi (no boost, mellow driving), but once I did a few saves, it was fine and I moved into boost and repeated the process.
Initial impressions:
1. Tip in response - YES! Admittedly, the AFPR that I was using was probably not set properly, but the "tip-in" response is now VERY crisp. My first reaction after poking the throttle was "damn, I better be careful" - subsequent reactions were less cautious - he, he, he :^O
2. Power. The SOTP dyno says a bit more and I think probably another bit more with tuning. The biggest difference is the throttle tip-in and above 5 or 6k RPM (no air flow meter). I noticed the difference more in 3rd and 4th than in 1st and 2nd too, I think.
3. Sound. Oh, my God! I connected a K&N filter to the metal intake elbow that comes off the s/c (thanks for the great website, Tony Cooper).
The sound is beautiful. The supercharger music is louder and clear/crisper (more high frequency coming through). I love it! The sound
above 6k RPM is magnificient and at 7.5k, well ya gotta hear it. ...now I gotta make this beauty as fast as it sounds.
4. Installation. I spread the installation over a few weeks (been out of town a bunch) and it was, sometimes, challenging to figure out where I left things. If you follow the directions and contact Bill C. with your questions, I think a hack (like me) could install the ECU, 4 wire O2 sensor, injectors and new intake without the AFM, in about 4-6 hours. I had some delays trying to get an appropriate filter from K&N - learned to measure BEFORE I order. Bill was very responsive and helpful. When I had a question or realized that I had taken a "creative detour" (a.k.a. brain fart) from the instructions, I emailed him and promptly got the advice I needed. Given my competency, I wouldn't have dared attempt this if I expected anything less!
5. Education. The ECU provides a great opportunity to learn about how the motor functions over a range of conditions and how it reacts alterations of the variables. This is very cool! Now Bill, I need a heads-up windshield display for the ECU!
I'm excited about it and would do it again. I hope I can get some good tuning time in before winter.
I'm not speedin', I'm tunin'!

FM turbo convert.
What do I say, it is fabulous. Performance is awesome, boost is progressive, bags of torque. Link ECU is beautiful and really a nice addition to the system. The turbo is quieter than the supercharger it replaces. Nice job, you won't be disappointed: nite and day versus the Sebring...
I'll let the SSCOR list know I have changed, offering my M45 for sale at the same time. Hopefully we won't flood the market with a stampede of used gear!

FM turbo and Link ECU, after living with it for a few weeks
I thought you might be interested in my impressions of my 1.8L FMII after three weeks of usage (i.e., enough to get rid of the bugs, not long enough to do any serious tuning).
Having been NA for ten months since purchase (new) in 1995, I had a M45 on the car for about two years until recently when I installed the FMII.
The change to the FMII has been extraordinary. Don't misunderstand me, the
M45 is a fine unit, but I wanted the ability to upgrade, and, having got used to the M45 power delivery, wanted a "bit" more. The FMII kit is well made, looks great, the instructions...ok (I had an early version).Link (ECU) is easy to understand and set up appeared easy.
The install is certainly more complex, although nothing a "weekend" mechanic (me) being meticulous couldn't handle. The electronics and FI system upgrade are the easiest part of the install (thanks Bill), toughest part was removal of the stock header and cat which had rusted together (I replaced the cat with a free flow, also from Bill C).
With trepidation I started the car and...it idled, straight away.. evenly,if a bit on the high side (idle screw taken out a bit for the supercharger). After popping off the mandatory IC hose on initial accel, the car, a daily driver, has been in use ever since.
Setting up the car has been easy so far. Once you have figured out the ECU basics and called Bill C a couple of times with your dumb questions...
Driving impressions after three weeks:The car is as delightful as a NA Miata when driven with the first 1/2 - 1 inch or so of throttle. Use of part throttle seems to provoke 9 - 10 psi almost instantly. Lag really is (almost) non existent. Press the throttle pedal all the way to the floor and stuff really happens fast, 15 psi + from 3500 or so all the way up the band. Remarkable. Gear changing technique and reaction time at a premium. I haven't found much that will live with it so far. Second gear performance is amazing, fourth and fifth very strong: 80 mph, floor it and it pulls like a train. Bill's dyno after 20 minutes of driving showed 230 plus HP, and I've got to believe there is more to come (15? 20?). Even more impressive than the BHP is the torque. It is certainly sweet and I would recommend it strongly. You'll not be disapointed, guaranteed.
Few bugs (getting the hot idle right etc) have been easy to solve. ECU is really easy (and fun) to use/tune.
Going-in concerns which have been debunked:
Myth: "turbo is on-off." Reality: Power delivery is rapid and controllable.
Myth: "install would be too complex for a lay mechanic"
Reality: hey, if I can do this, you can.
Myth? No: ECU, in fact the whole set up, is "kinda expensive"; OK it is not cheap,
but recognize you are getting Porsche-like performance for a $4,600 investment. On a BHP/$ invested it equates to ~ $33/bhp of gain on 130 -140 incremental RW bhp.
All in all, a fun project with remarkable results.

"Should I buy a turbo or a supercharger?"
I ran an M45 for 6 years and then went to the boost upgrade and had that for one year. 3 months ago I purchased a used FMII. My car is a 1990. I used all 3 set ups as daily drivers. I would go directly to a turbo. I haven't even tweaked mine out yet and it is TONS faster than the supercharger with the big pulley and the full Jackson exhaust.
If cost is a big issue buy a used supercharger, but if you can I'd go right to an FMII. Remember too when you buy a supercharger you will want a $499 header and that comes with the FMII. Also with a supercharger you will need a $400 knock sensor that comes with the FMII but I don't think it is included with the supercharger , new kit. Just blew off a 5.0 Mustang this morning, a hot looking one from Missouri. He hid behind black windows while I was grinning ear to ear !
GET THE TURBO.

Turbo cars at the track
Just a note of thanks, Bill, for producing a turbo kit and other parts that work so well off AND on the track. The past weekend was a real blast. The car ran, shifted, stopped, flowed coolant, and even looked great all weekend. The engine didn't miss a beat, never got hot, and ran strong even with the boost turned down to 160. I'm sure the car is much faster than its driver. Even though I was passed (on purpose) quite often, my face is still in a perpetual grin. I can hardly wait for the next event. I even won a G-Tech at the raffle.
Happy track driver
Reliability.
just thought I'd drop you a note about the car, in the context of a relatively long trip I just finished.
Over the course of four driving days, I covered ~3200 miles, from the SF Bay area to Vancouver, BC, then to Calgary, and then back down to SF. The car--running just about your entire catalog of goodies, including the FM2 system--behaved flawlessly the entire way. I took my tools with me but never needed to unzip the bag.
This was particularly impressive given the variation in altitude (sea level to ~6000 feet at times) and gas quality I encountered. The Link ECU is indeed a significantly cool toy.
Anyway, thanks for selling good stuff.

Link ECU and Racing Beat header
I have been running the Flyin' Miata, Flyin' Miata ECU for almost a year now. Without any doubt it is a very impressive power improvement for the Miata. Mine is a 90 with 120000 miles. I can do 0 to 60 in 7.5 seconds with street tires. The car only has a racing beat header and the FM ECU. The suspension has also been modified for running SCCA CSP.
If any of you are considering a power upgrade for your car, you have got to consider the Flyin' Miata ECU. It produced the bang for the buck I was looking for.
I did a baseline test before I installed the computer. I timed a uphill run from 3000 to 7000 rpm in 3rd gear. In stock form it took 17.0 seconds and with the Flyin' Miata ECU it only took 14.5 seconds. No other change I did resulted in even a fraction of that difference!
I have been enjoying driving my Miatas (also a 94 M) for 8 years and thought about buying a 99 for the power, but after adding this new computer I have the power of a 99 without a new car payment!
Fred Uptagrafft
Link ECU on an engine swap
I used a FM ECU as part of my 1.8 swap and it was worth every penny.
I have posted this info to the Miatapower list numerous times and some of it even got reprinted in Grassroots a while back. Originally I used the factory 1.6 ECU w/RX7 flowmeter and adjustable fuel pressure regulator for the swap (see cheap HP at ttp://members.aol.com/solomiata/MiataCSP.html).
This netted a total of 115hp and 107 ft lbs torque on the chassis dyno (rear wheel hp). The FM ECU was worth a total of 15 extra HP after fine tuning. I'm using the 1.6 FM ECU so it was not calibrated to the 1.8 requirements out of the box.
Just plugging it in was worth 10 additional hp on the dyno and fine tuning got to 129.6 HP/109 ft lb.
The 1.6 Factory ECU settings are really not all that bad. They need to be a little more rich below 4500 rpm and leaner after 6000 rpm. This enhancement is impossible to do with standard fuel pressure regulators or larger injectors without affecting the other end of the rpm scale. The timing needs more advance below 5000 but the 6000 and over timing is about right (which leads to the compromise but free 14 before mod). The programmable ECU lets you do all of this without compromise and you can also adjust for each individual motor
as all are slightly different.

Smoke and mirrors?
Just a note to let you know that the Link is in and operating perfectly. Thanks to Ken for great tech support over the phone, and thanks to Flyin' Miata for great product and support.
I've tuned and modified cars since 1986, and in that time have dealt with dozens of vendors. Believe me, there are a lot of companies that don't have the integrity that you folks have. I'm impressed that every claim you've made about your products is backed up by results, not a bunch of marketing smoke and mirrors.
Thanks again, and keep up the good work!

Happy customer
Before getting to my questions, I would like to say how pleased I have
been with my 3 purchases (to date!). You guys are great!

FM flywheel
Just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that I am very impressed with this kit. I installed it, taking my time, in about 6 hours this past Saturday. The difference in weight between the stock flywheel and the FM one was unbelievable... I could hold up the FM 'wheel with my pinkie, but the stock lump of cast iron required both of my hands, for fear I would drop it and break my concrete floor. I know I won't abuse it for 500mi. per your installation sheet, but during the initial test drive the clamping force was phenomenal. The larger disk/pressure plate diameters are immediately apparent and impressive when compared with the stock components. Now I am ready for some more boost! Thanks for helping me get a grip. Thanks again.

FM big brakes
Just got back from LS2.3 last night. The Toyos & FM brakes both worked FABULOUSLY. Stinky finally drives like a real goddamn sports car. Could just about outbrake anything on the track, and very consistent and predictable.
Well done--and thanks much.
PS Here's another one for you, and it's true: The only problem was when I used my normal braking points, I stopped 15 feet short of the turn....

Porterfield race pads
Well I did my first Seat time event at Summit Point. Which is basically
6 20 minute sessions I got about 115 miles in of OK track time. It would
be more but other people kept going off track into the snow so they had
to stop everyone and tow them out. But that is another story. The
Porterfield Sport brake pads are a good to have item running at the
track. But these pads need a little more time to break in then normal
street pad. But unlike the hawk they do not have to be super hot to
start working. Also they do not wear a deep grove into the rotors like
hawks did in only one track session. And on the track they seem to work
as well as the hawk pads, but they don't eat into the rotors like the
hawks did. Which makes them a much better deal!!

FM turbo exhaust
Finally got the FM turbo exhaust installed, and WHAT a difference. Not only
more powerful, but much smoother all around performance. Great sound, too.
Good product.

FM turbo exhaust
.....Anyway, it took me all of 2 minutes to order an FM turbo exhaust from Flyin' Miata...just popped it on tonight.
OMG!!!!! Talk about GORGEOUS! Lets put it this way...I could comb my hair from the reflection on the muffler. And the piping is massive (2.5") compared to the old exhaust (2"). The sound is sooooo deep and smooth...man I love the sound this thing makes....WOW. The BEST I've heard on a Miata (also have custom 2.5" turbo downpipe and 2.5" FM high flow cat) Install was a cinch...45 minutes max. I've also gained about 1 PSI of max boost with this exhaust installed which I can't really feel all of yet as I am still keeping the A/F ratio in careful observation (come on pump! where are ya?).

FM naturally aspirated duals
I recently bought the N/A FM Dual exhaust for my 2000 Miata. Last night I went about installing it. I must say that the exhaust is one of the most well made products of any kind I've ever had the pleasure of owning. BEAUTIFUL welds and stainless work. It's almost a shame to put it under the car instead of in my living room. Well maybe that's pushing it, but...The directions were very comprehensive and the photos helped a great deal, especially for someone unfamiliar with Miata's such as myself. I expected the template to be on a regular sheet of paper that I would have to tape to the bumper. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a self-adhesive 'sticker', and that a genuine Mazda 'rubber donut' was supplied instead of some home made contraption. This attention to detail shows how much you care about providing a high quality product.
A couple of small comments:
1. A photo of the placement of the template on the bumper would be helpful.
2. Some mention of possibly needing a longer bolt to mount the additional hanger bracket might be helpful. This may not apply to the 99's or older, but the OEM bolt on the heat shield was much too short to mount the bracket on mine. Luckily I had a few 10 mm bolts laying around that were long enough.
note from Bill, we supply this bolt normally
Thank You for providing a superior product!

FM turbo single exhaust
At 7 psi with the small BB turbo my car went from 185 to 205 hp, with gains from 2500 rpm or so, going from the factory M2 exhaust to the full FM single turbo exhaust.. Dyno tuning yielded 217 hp.

FM sway bars
Hi Bill, I am David Porter from the Utah Miata Club. You installed some FM performance sway bars for me on May 19th when we came for a visit. I just wanted to let you know that I love them. I gave them a good test on Million Dollar Highway righ after we left Grand Junction. I could take the curves at a good 10 mph faster and rarely used my brakes. Besides enjoying the curves more I am going to save on brake pads. Thanks again for installing them on such short notice. We had a great time at Lake Vallecito with great BBQ's and great scenery. The sway bars made it all the more fun. I think there will be some more members who will have it done also.
Keep the revs up....See you again.

I just wanted to drop you a note to say how pleased I am with the remarkable transformation I have experienced on my 96M Miata the past couple of months. Moving up from Bridgestone Potenza RE-910 tires
(195/50TR15), stock springs/shocks/sways, and going to the combination of KYB AGX adjustable shocks, Ground Control coilover kit with Eibach ERS 375#F / 250#R springs, FM front sway bar, stock rear sway bar, FM STB and Toyo T1-S tires (in 215/45VR15) has made driving my little M-edition a whole new experience.
The ride quality is nearly that of a stock setup on most roads, though somewhat firmer. No harshness when using the KYB settings of
2F/2R. Outstanding handling with 3F/2R or 4F/3R, though noticeably firmer, with some harshness on rough roads. Cornering is phenomenal, given the strength of the FM front sway bar, yielding mild understeer that is easily throttled to slight oversteer on demand. A friend who helped during the installation claimed the car is now a "go-cart," given its newfound abilities.
The great thing is, the ride quality is only slightly firmer than a stock setup. In my dreams I had only hoped for being able to retain some semblance of decent ride quality, while boosting handling performance so
greatly. My thanks to you and your staff for helping to make a good-handling car a great one.

Randall intake
This weekend, I installed in my 2000 Miata, your Randall cowl intake duct with a K&N drop-in filter. Though I knew by reading your catalog and visiting your web site, I would realize some improvement, I was apprehensive to get myself all worked up with overly high expectations.
Boy, was I wrong!
The first time I took her out for a spin, I was delightfully amazed at the increased power and improvement in throttle response. And, as an added bonus, a brand new (natural) sound that is incredible from both under the hood and at the tail. The first time I kicked her in the butt, it sounded like someone stuck a dual quad Holly under the hood. Just wanted to let you know, that the installation was as simple as the instructions included, and the experience was well worth every penny spent.
You can bet that I will be back for more.
