Bill Cardell |
Miata guru, top-flight tuner and a little too fond of horsepower, Bill is the big cheese dog at FM.
He started The Dealer Alternative back in 1983, got into Miatas in 1989, changed the name of the company a decade later and just look at what happened. You can read more about that adventure in our history. He's responsible for creating Flyin' Miata.
When he's not playing with cars, he's playing with motorcycles. 10 years of endurance road racing does that to you. He also spends as much time as possible up at his cabin with his wife Teri. If his stories are to be believed, he spent his childhood trying to blow up New Jersey.
If you're looking for solid technical assistance and the ability to solve the most baffling problems, Bill's the man.

Teri Cardell |
Teri is married to Bill and works as our office manager. It's up to her to keep the rest of the team under control. Not an easy job. But nobody messes with her. Her interview process is legendary.
Teri's also a big horsepower fan. She complains that everything is too slow. If you let her out on the track in a Miata, she'll keep running laps until it runs out of gas. Then she'll take your Miata and do the same thing. Hide the keys.

Keith Tanner |
Keith seems to enjoy playing with cars. An old Cadillac, a classic Land Rover, an old Mini, his little Lotus Seven replica, a turbo Miata, a rally Miata - nobody's sure just what he's going to drag home next. He also has a tendency to take on really big projects. When he's not playing with cars, he rides bicycles and skis.
Keith is our webmaster, graphic designer, represents FM in various online forums and does tech support. He and Bill build many of the competition cars that come out of Flyin' Miata. He also wrote How to Build a Cheap Sports Car, Mazda Miata MX-5 Performance Projects, Mazda Miata: Find It. Fix It. Trick It. and contributes to Grassroots Motorsports. And yes, he says "aboot". We imported him from Canada.

Jeremy Ferber |
Jeremy is the best surfer at Flyin' Miata. He also has some sort of rotary problem and used to own a truly fearsome RX-7. His 280 rwhp 1994 R was a real monster, but now he's working on doing terrible things to a 1996 R.
When he's not tuning Miatas, he's fishing or snowboarding - or cursing the Lucas components in his Land Rover Discovery, probably while hub-deep in mud.
Jeremy is an engine management master. He's also been known to obsess over turbo compressor charts. If you call looking for help on tuning your car, you'll probably end up talking to him.

|
Glen Johnson |
Glen drives an automatic Miata. And it's white - possibly the least manly Miata in the company. But he's planning to change that. Not the Miata, the transmission. He's an enthusiastic autocrosser and hung around Flyin' Miata long enough that we decided we might as well hire him.
When you call Flyin' Miata, Glen is probably the first person to talk to. He's our chief salesgirl.

|
Jason Miller |
Jason kills Miatas. He's our salvage doctor, salvaging the organs of injured Miatas so that others may lead happy lives.
Eww. Watch where you park.
Jason has a 1990 Miata and big plans.

|
James Brooks |
James has worked for Flyin' Miata longer than anyone else other than Bill. He specialises in really bad puns, cartoons and trivia. You have been warned.
If you order something from FM, it'll arrive packed to survive anything short of high explosives. You can thank James for that. He's our shipping manager.

|
Deb McGlynn |
Deb does our bookkeeping. She monitors our books down to the penny and won't let a lost penny stay lost. If she was working for the government, there would be no deficit.
Do not call her Debbie.
|
|
Brandon Fitch |
Brandon is an engineer, so the first thing we had him do is assemble desks. That went well.
When he's not building furniture, he's trying to ride every mountain bike trail in the area. When he's done that, he'll move on to road bikes. Then motorcycles.
Brandon is one of our technicians, working to design, develop and support our products. If you call up for technical support, you just might end up talking to him.

|
Jon Hansen |
Jon is the resident mechanic at Flyin' Miata. Good thing for him, because if he had to rely on his singing he'd starve. Not that this stops him from belting out duets with Bill J.
Jon cut his teeth on hot rods and drag racers. Now, he spends all his time playing with funny little cars. But boy, does he do a nice job.
|
|
Bill Johnson |

Bill is the founder of our local Miata club and drives a really nice black 1999. He joined FM after commenting during a visit that it might be fun to try disassembling an engine - so we had him take apart a dozen. Now, he spends some of his time maintaining FM's infrastructure. The rest is spent tooling around in his Miata looking for good roads.

Tami Brown |
Tami's been with us for a long time. She's not answering the phone these days, but she's still behind the scenes making sure that everything works properly. She's also busy taking care of Solomon and has another young 'un on the way.
In case you're wondering, she still drives the ex-Miata Magazine project car, "Stinky".

|
Turbodog |
Many people have tried to outlast Turbodog with a frisbee or tennis ball. But he is nuclear powered and has defeated them all. He welcomes all new challengers.
