The 2009 FM Summer Camp Our original Open House - a nice BBQ in the backyard with some guests - has grown into a four-day event. Of course, we still have an open house as part of it, but this year we renamed the entire event "Summer camp" because of the wide range of activities. Thursday kicked off the fun. Bill, Teri and Brandon were all at the track offering rides in various FM cars. There was also the FAAAST driving school for those who wanted a chance to learn the track a bit. Friday was the annual track day. True to form, records were broken. Bob Bundy demolished the lap record for Miatas and came within 0.2 seconds of taking the overall lap record for cars. A great performance. Friday night saw us all at the Sonic for food and tall tales from the track. At 8, most cars took off for a sunset drive over the Monument. Brandon provided some comic relief by running out of gas and pushing/coasting 3 miles to the exit! Saturday was the main Open House. Cool cars, seminars on forced induction 101, cornerweighting, Hydra setup and a peek into current FM projects kept everyone occupied. Then it was off to the banquet where the staff trivia contest revealed some very interesting facts about the folks at FM. Next time you're speaking to Bill, ask him to tell you about burning off his eyebrows with a flying, flaming tampon. Sunday morning saw 30-odd cars gather for a run up some of FM's favorite roads in the area, including Keith's main "Targa simulation road". The drive ended at brunch, and we took our leave from there. One thing we didn't do this year was take many pictures! If you were at the Open House and have some good photos to share, please send them to us. Track picture samples 2009 Summer Camp pictures
