Flyin' Miata was established in 1983 as The Dealer Alternative, specializing in the repair and servicing of Porsche, Audi and VW products. One day in 1989 one of our Porsche customers came by and threw us the keys to his brand new Miata and we fell in love. Within a couple of months we had turbocharged our own Miata and a new business was born.

In 1996, we moved to Colorado and started working on Miatas exclusively. A couple of years later, we bought our first dyno to use as a tuning tool. Many of our special parts had been given the name "Flyin' Miata", and in 2000 we renamed the company to match. Over the years, we've moved from a basement operation to successively larger buildings, and now we work out of a 25,000 square foot shop with lots of room for mad projects.

We've been involved with the online Miata community for as long as it's been in existence. We were the first sponsors of Miata.net, before it even had the name.

All along, we've tested nearly everything we sell on our own fleet of Mazdas. We lose track, but there are always at least a dozen ranging from almost-stock to some heavily modified monsters. Some of them are dedicated test beds, some are competition cars built to torture our products under the harshest conditions. There are now 15 people who work for FM including four technicians who are always ready to give technical help on anything. Customer service has always been a priority here!

We've enjoyed working with customers for the past 27 years. We're looking forward to the next couple of decades!
