How to measure a stud

We get a lot of orders for various studs, but they're often measured incorrectly. This doesn't work out well for anyone. So here's how you do it.

Measure from the bottom of the shoulder (the unthreaded portion) to the end of the long threaded end. Basically, you're measuring how much of the stud will protrude when it's installed in the head, the turbo or whatever else needs a stud stuck in it. Do not measure the total length of the stud or disappointment will follow. See the handy diagram for an example.
