Flyin' Miata and the Targa Newfoundland

The crew
Brandon Fitch
Brandon is one of the techs at Flyin' Miata. Over his five years with the company, he's helped develop a number of our best products and turned countless laps on our local track. He's smooth, predictable and fast, which makes him quite boring to watch. He'll be driving Nancy in the Targa.
He has never
run a rally before for real, but he has daydreamed about it quite a bit.
Zach Bowman
A proud Tennessean by choice, Zach Bowman spends his days scribbling about the automotive industry as an associate editor with Autoblog.com. Though you'll never get him to admit it in mixed company, a 1990 Miata with no less than 150,000 miles occupies a cherished spot near the top of his dream car list. He's never seriously competed in anything outside of a fierce underground rock, paper, scissors tournament, but looks forward to saddling up with the Flyin' Miata team at the 2011 Targa Newfoundland.
Keith Tanner
Keith has been a tech at Flyin' Miata for the past decade, and has built a number of cars together with Bill over the years. He originally built the Targa Miata on jackstands in his home garage, and he and Janel ran it in the 2008 event. They had a fantastic time, finished the race and came 16th overall - in that order.
He's Canadian, so he'll be the team translator.
Janel Tanner
Janel is organized, cool under pressure and likes to tell Keith what to do. During the rally, she is omniscient. So she's the perfect navigator for the Targa car.
She likes the driver's seat as well. She's happiest when she's at Laguna Seca with a lot of horsepower available at her beck and call.
 Bill Cardell
What happened to Bill? He was supposed to drive Nancy. Well, a few weeks before the race, he was visciously attacked by an aspen tree and wound up with a broken shoulder. Unfortunately, this left him unfit to drive so he will be living vicariously through the rest of the team.
Support crew
You can't run a race like this without help. We'll have Trevor Holt, Sam Sharp, Jim Rinderle, Tom Tanner and Laura Tanner taking care of both the crew and the cars during the race.
