Miata FAQ Flyin' Miata |
The Supertuner Challenge. For the past two years, Car and Driver has run the "Supertuner Challenge". It's a hunt for the highest-performance street car around. Participation is invitation-only - and in 2003, Flyin' Miata got a call to enter. A difference from previous Challenges is the format. This year, it was limited to four-cylinder cars and the top speed will be 130 mph so the tuners have to do more than just build a massive 8.0l engine as in the past. Mazda believes we can represent the Miata community well. They've given us a car to start from. A big thanks goes out to Dean Parsons for the help in making this happen! It's been named "Elvis". Because Elvis is the King! And because it's easy to remember. Just like our Track Dog racecar, we'll let you watch as we build this latest beast. Keep checking back here for updates. We're going back! Check out our 2005 Superfour Challenge competitor. The previous Challenges: The car |
