Basil

Holder of the record for the lowest power recorded on our dyno, Basil is a little different. Originally a diamond exploration truck up in northern Ontario, Keith found it in a barn and fixed it up. It made the 2000 mile trip out to our shop in Colorado fairly painlessly at a steady 50 mph. Now it's a combination of a rolling restoration project and off-road toy. The goal is not a show queen but a solid truck full of personality. The truck was given a four-page feature in the March 2002 issue of Land Rover World as well as a mention in 4wd and Sport Utility Magazine. It just got a new frame, turning the FM shop into an environmental disaster for a week. For the full saga of Basil's resurrection, see here:
