Track Information
SOUND TESTS
The track will be running sound tests. If you have a really loud exhaust, you may be black flagged for noise which means you would lose your driving privileges for the day. We don't know the exact specifics at this time (e.g., do you receive one warning and get the chance to "fix" the sound or it's one time and you're out), but we'll have more information at the drivers meeting. FYI, we tested one of our turbocharged cars (FM turbo single exhaust) at this track and the sound was well within the acceptable limits.
TRACK COSTS
The cost to drive on the track, per driver, will be $45. There are two separate costs associated with this charge; there is a $5.00 per person charge, which covers insurance, and this charge will be collected at the gate (to a track employee). Cash please.
The $40 charge is to cover the track rental for the day. Flyin' Miata has to pay the rental fee of the track at the end of the day so we would like to collect this charge upfront. Please respond to this message BY WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 18th to let me know it is okay to charge the credit card we have on file for you in the amount of $40 for one driver or $80 for two drivers. If we don't have a credit card on file or if the expiration date has expired, we will call you to obtain the appropriate information.
REFUNDS
Unfortunately, we will not be able to issue a refund if you must cancel after your credit card has been charged. The per person cost was based on the number of participants who registered for track time when Open House registration closed, with everyone paying their own way.
TRACK SCHEDULE
(Friday, August 20th)
8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. - Registration. At the gate, you will sign a release form, pay $5 per person and receive a wrist band. Drivers without wrist bands will not be allowed on the track.
9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. - Prepare car for track. Remove carpets, loose items from glove box, console and trunk.
9:30 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. - Drivers' meeting. All drivers must attend unless we waive the requirement for you. Transponders (for checking your time on the track) will be passed out at the meeting. Drivers without transponders won't be timed/scored.
9:50 - 9:59 a.m. - Drivers to line up their cars.
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. -- TRACK TIME!
SESSIONS
We will run four cars, appropriately spaced apart, per session. If there is an accident, the track will close to clear the vehicle from the track. The group having the accident will not re-start; this session is forfeited and the next run group will go out on the track. It is up to the group who loses their session to punish the offending driver. ;)
TRACK ATTIRE
Long sleeve shirts and pants are required (jeans are appropriate). Full-face or open face helmets ARE required on the track so please bring them. If you don't own a helmet, we will have one extra large, one large and one small helmet available by the track entrance. We will not check to ensure the helmets are DOT or SNELL certified, but remember, it's your head. If you think you're only worth a $5.00 helmet, so be it. Roll bars are not required, ditto, it's your head.
LUNCH BREAK
The track may be closed for lunch, but it depends upon the number of corner workers the track can get. If there are enough corner workers, we won't have to close for lunch. We will provide sandwiches and water and the track sells snacks and other drinks, but we would appreciate donations for your meal.
DIRECTIONS TO THE TRACK
