Racing the Rock DVD
See customer reviews of this product. A full-length feature on Miatas racing in a major competition? Yes!
In 2011, hundreds of Miata owners banded together to support FM`s two-car team as they took on the daunting Targa Newfoundland. One car had the experienced team of Keith and Janel Tanner, battling for the win in the fast Open division with a V8 Miata. The other car had the rookie team of Brandon Fitch and Zach Bowman tackling the complex Grand Touring division. This is the story of that race and the people behind it.
Filmed and edited by professional filmmakers Adam and Tracy Costa, this is no home video. It`s a great look into the Miata community and what it takes to survive "the Ironman of Motorsport". It`s similar to Dust to Glory and Truth in 24. The film was partially financed by Kickstarter contributions, making it a community-supported film about a community-supported race effort.
The world premiere took place at the 2012 Flyin` Miata Summer Camp, and now here`s your chance to see the final product. Blu-Ray and digital download will be available in the future, at the moment we currently have a limited stock of DVDs.
From the back of the DVD case:
Targa Newfoundland
Five days and fourteen hundred miles of fierce competition on the public roads of Newfoundland. Drivers come from all over the world to race at this legendary event, spending tens of thousands of dollars to prove their worth in a contest that has no prize purse.
This is racing at its purest; car versus clock, man versus road. To the winners go the bragging rights - and a trophy if they`re lucky.
In 2011, Flyin` Miata took two of their fastest cars to compete in the Targa. This is the story of their race, and the incredible journey of getting to the start line.
