How To Build a Cheap Sports Car
While the other people at FM were busy making their cars more and more powerful, Keith decided to approach it a different way. He made a Lotus Seven replica out of a wrecked 1991 Miata and proceeded to set the lap record at our local track. He then wrote a book about it.
It's not really a Miata book. It's the story of the build of the little Seven, from stripping the donor car to setting up the suspension for maximum performance. That's fun to read - but there's also a lot of technical information inside on all sorts of things you need to know when building a car, and they also apply to building a track car. For example, what is bump steer and how can you get rid of it? How do hydraulic brakes work, what is brake bias and how (and why) can it be adjusted?
192 pages with 400 full color photographs, this will keep you occupied for some time. If you're not careful, it might even inspire you. Autographed by the author.
