Mazda put three different sizes of brakes on the 1990-05 Miatas. All the 1990-93 models shared one design, as did all the 1994-00 models. In 2001 it got tricky as the larger "Sport" brakes were introduced. These brakes became standard in 2003.
How to tell if you have Sport brakes? If your car is a 2000 or earlier, you don't. If your car is a 2003-05, you do. If you have a 2001-02 model came from the factory with 16" wheels, it has the Sport brakes. You can measure the rotor as well - the Sport brakes have a rotor that measures 11" in front. Pads and rotors are not interchangeable between the different types of brakes so make sure you've identified what you have before you order.
The 2006 and later cars don't share any brake parts with the earlier models, so be sure to order parts for the correct year.
