Instructions

We consider this to be an advanced project. The instructions are written for experienced mechanics who can solve problems. Before you take on a V8 conversion, please have a look to see if you're comfortable with what you'll have to do.

The instructions also assume that you're building a car with FM parts and to the same specifications we use. If you decide to do some things differently, such as adapt a different radiator or use a junkyard engine with a different accessory drive, you will have to sort out some of the details yourself.

Overall instructions (1.8 MB PDF)

FM "snorkel" cold air intake
These were written for 1999-05 models specifically, but the general process is much the same. The biggest difference is the amount of cutting that needs to be done, and we recommend some trial and error if you are building an earlier car.
