Nope. The total weight gain is under 200 lbs, and 1/3 of that is on the rear wheels. This means the final weight and balance is very similar to a turbo Miata. The combination of the all-aluminum engine and pushing the drivetrain to the rear as far as possible makes this happen. category: Driving | updated 2009-10-12
General
The classic 302/5.0 Ford small block has been used for a lot of conversions. But the LS engines are a couple of generations ahead. They offer much better ground clearance, lighter weight in stock form and excellent packaging. On top of that, they start at over 300 horsepower in stock form and quickly go up from there.
We know that some people just can't make themselves drive Chevies. To those, we offer our condolences. category: General | updated 2009-10-12
Our kits will allow any 1990-05 Miata to be turned into a V8. We prefer the 1999-05 cars because of their electronic speedometer, stiffer chassis and slightly roomier engine bay.
The 2006 and later cars can't be converted - yet. We're working on it. category: General | updated 2010-03-26
